"I’ll give you complete access to the [Heavenly Library]. You can choose any skill from there, or ask for a suggestion directly from the [Heavenly Records]."
"Heavenly Library...?"
Obitus tilted her head, not following what he ant at all.
Realizing she had no idea about the system he was talking about, Neo leaned forward and started explaining.
"Each Heavenly Record is in charge of a single planet or sotis a group of planets across the Nine Heavens.
"The Nine Heavens themselves are nine pseudo-universes I created.
"Every Heavenly Record takes all my knowledge and skills, distributes them to the planets it governs, and then simulates the potential of the inhabitants there.
"That way they can grow stronger."
As he spoke, nine luminous orbs appeared, circling slowly behind him.
Each one shimred faintly, like a self-contained universe floating in the air.
Neo lifted a palm, and a tiny cube no larger than an atom appeared above it.
In an instant, the cube expanded until it was big enough to balance on his hand, humming softly with energy.
"This is a Heavenly Record. The Heavenly Library is the network ford by all of them.
"Every Heavenly Record inside the Library shares knowledge and information with the others. They support their inhabitants and constantly push them to evolve," he said.
"Huh?" Obitus stared at him, her expression completely blank.
He sighed and tried again.
"Think of the Heavenly Records as books filled with skills, classes, traits, and every kind of knowledge.
"The Heavenly Library is just the network that connects the books."
Her face didn’t change.
If anything, she looked even more lost.
Neo rubbed his temple, realizing just how little of it she actually understood.
He quickly decided against telling her the task he had in mind for her.
"Task?" Obitus asked, catching the hesitation in his thoughts.
"I was thinking about finding soone who could act as the Librarian. I need soone to maintain the Heavenly Library and keep an eye on the Heavenly Records."
Her brows knitted together.
"...A Librarian? For books that can think?"
"Yes. The Heavenly Records are sentient. They can think on their own and even develop personalities.
"Even the first one I created was.... weird."
"There’s no guarantee they won’t act out in the future.
"One of them might decide to push their planet forward in a reckless way, like forcing the inhabitants into deadly trials just for the sake of progress," he said.
"That sounds... bad."
"It is," Neo said firmly. "I can’t keep monitoring every single Record to check when one of them starts doing sothing dangerous.
"Sure, I could ignore it until one of them becos a problem for , but by then the damage would already be done. Entire worlds could suffer.
"That’s why I wanted a Librarian. They would step in before it gets out of control."
"Ohhhh," Obitus said with a long nod, though her face made it clear she had only grasped the surface of what he said.
"Forget it," Neo muttered, waving it off. "I’ve already given you the highest authority inside the Heavenly Library. You can now use any skill, any trait, even bloodlines if you want."
Her eyes widened slightly.
"I can choose traits? What about the ones that need physical body modifications? So abilities can only be used by specific species. Can I take those too?"
"You can," Neo replied. "But you’ll need to undergo body modification or body evolution. The Heavenly Records will provide you with the thods for those transformations."
Obitus frowned.
"But I’m a Soul Weapon. Can they really make a technique for my evolution too?"
"Yes," Neo answered without hesitation. "When you connected to the Heavenly Record, all of your data was absorbed.
"So of the Records are already running simulations to create techniques for your species. If one hasn’t been completed yet, it will be soon."
Her question reminded Neo of sothing else.
There were countless races in the wider Cosmos.
He hadn’t gathered complete data on all of them yet.
’I should connect the Primogenitor to the Heavenly Library,’ he thought, his gaze lowering slightly.
The trait Primogenitor should give him all the data, since it would help him grow stronger.
It made Neo realize another issue.
He had millions of traits.
Normally, traits could not be combined.
They were like runes engraved onto the soul.
They stirred the potential of the soul and brought forth the power called Traits.
Combining them was considered impossible.
’But with Resonance, maybe I could pull it off,’ Neo considered. It was an idea worth testing, but it would take ti.
He sighed, brushing the thoughts aside for now.
"Ah! I almost forgot!" Obitus suddenly sprang up.
Neo glanced at her. "Forgot what?"
"My advancent." Her tone carried an excited edge. "Our ranks are connected, right? I’m currently Stage 4. But since you’re Stage 5..."
Her voice trailed off as she looked at him, uncertain.
"You’re... not Stage 5?" she asked slowly, half sure, half doubtful.
"I’m technically a Stage 4 God. But I’m using the exponential enhancent of the Heavenly Records, which lets fight with the combat strength of Stage 5."
Obitus blinked.
Then her face twisted into a strange expression.
She had been eager to brag about her own achievent.
After all, she had reached Stage 4 through nothing but effort, sweat, and struggle.
As a Soul Weapon, she couldn’t take the shortcut of becoming a God, which allowed Awakeners to jump three ranks at once.
That shortcut was infamous across the Cosmos. It was hard to achieve, required imnse talent, and was usually only available to those nurtured by the Universal Powers.
But she couldn’t use it at all.
For her, every step had been earned the hard way.
That was why reaching Stage 4 ant so much to her.
She had wanted to see Neo’s face when she told him, wanted to show that she wasn’t falling too far behind.
Instead, he had just casually admitted that he could fight at Stage 5 while only being Stage 4.
She stared at him, her mouth slightly open.
"...That doesn’t make sense."
"I know it sounds unfair. But it’s just how the Heavenly Records function."
Obitus shook her head in disbelief. "I was planning to brag. Do you know how hard I worked to reach Stage 4? I thought at least you’d be a little impressed."
"I am impressed," Neo said honestly. "You reaching Stage 4 without shortcuts is sothing to be proud of. If anything, it’s harder than what I’m doing. The Heavenly Records give a kind of leverage most people don’t even have access to."
She pouted, unconvinced.
"You are saying just to make feel nice."
"I’m not saying it because of that," Neo replied, leaning forward slightly. "Don’t compare your progress to mine. We had different paths, and different circumstances. What matters is that you’ve grown stronger, and you’re still growing."
Obitus looked away, folding her arms again. "Fine. But next ti, at least act surprised when I tell you my rank."
Neo chuckled. "Alright. Next ti, I’ll pretend to be shocked."
"That doesn’t make it any better," she muttered, though a small smile tugged at her lips.
Neo observed her reaction with amusent.
"That reminds ," she said suddenly, her tone shifting, "I haven’t told you about my new abilities yet, have I?"
"Oh?" Neo raised a brow. The way she asked made it clear she had been waiting for this mont. "No, you haven’t. What are they?"
She straightened her back, crossing her arms with mock seriousness, but her eyes glead with pride.
"I awakened new abilities when I evolved. And they are even better than the ones I had before."
"Go on. I’m listening."
