The woman smiled.
"Na, huh. I have many. Euphemia Theodora, the Witch of Greed, the Omniscient One, and…." she smirked, as she looked at him in the eye. "Primogenitor. But I suppose, that is not what you are asking?"
"I'm not interested in your na. What I want to know is what is this place, and why are you here. Are you so sort of Judge of the Trial?"
"No," the woman chuckled. "I'm not the Judge of the Trial, and this place has no Trial."
"…?"
"The words you heard earlier were a simple lie. One ant to be used as a mask to hide the true information about the Sacred Gate and about what you will encounter upon entering it."
"So, what is this place?"
She chuckled, "You must've been surprised when you saw the Shadow Supre outside, no? Are you curious why that Shadow Supre is different from the one that gave you the Sacred Treasure?"
Naless Death's expression turned weird.
Was it just him or was this woman openly ignoring his words whenever he asked about this place?
He looked around, at the sea of white flas to be exact.
It was made from… Intent?
No, it was Consciousness. No....
'This is weird.'
'It's like those flas are made from both Intent and Consciousness but sothing different at the sa ti. Sothing stronger,' he thought.
The woman read his thoughts and frowned in displeasure.
"Why are you not focusing on my words?"
"What is this place?"
"Seriously? Can you not see that I'm trying to ignore that question?"
"Just say if you don't want to answer, and I will drop the question."
The woman looked at him for a mont and sighed.
"Fine, this place is Sea Of… All Consciousness."
Her expression when she said 'All Consciousness' was as if she had eaten crap.
Naless Death didn't comnt on her expression, and waited for her to continue.
"The Sacred Gate you ca through is a 'door' that Supre of Void left behind. He knew one day the [Sites] would be in danger of being 'saved', so he placed a Sacred Gate here."
"Huh?" Naless Death frowned. "You sound like he saw the future."
"He did."
"So, he made the Sacred Gate for soone?"
"Yes."
"Who?"
"You."
"....!"
She chuckled seeing his surprised expression, and her displeasure from earlier disappeared.
"Not you exactly. To be exact, the Sacred Gate was built for Heavenbreakers. Only they can enter it.
"Supre of Void has tied the Fate of all Heavenbreakers, who has been born or will be born, to the Sites. It is to make sure they would co to 'this place' whenever soone is trying to remove the Chaos Elentals from the Site," she said, using the words 'this place' instead of Sea of All Consciousness.
Naless Death's eyes widened.
"Does that an…"
"Yes, the reason you were caught by Alliance was because of Supre of Void's manipulation of Fate."
Naless Death's expression twisted.
He clenched his fist.
Then, he took a deep breath, and forcefully cald himself. There was no point in getting angry right now.
He needed to be level-headed to make sense of the situation, and understand what was happening.
"Let's say…" Naless Death began. "That Supre of Void wanted to protect the Sites by making sure the Chaos Elentals do not get removed from them. How exactly is that 'protecting' the Sites? I've only seen one Site but that place is devastated, and dead because of the Chaos Elentals."
"Chaos Elentals are acting as a cover and they are hiding the Sites."
"Hiding the Sites from who?"
The witch smiled but didn't answer.
She changed topic, "Anyhow, since I owe a favor to Supre of Void, I decided to help the Heavenbreaker who would co here through his Sacred Gate. In exchange, the Heavenbreaker would protect the Site from the calamity that is threatening it."
Calamity that was threatening the Site?
Naless Death knew the identity of that.
Zagreus. He was given a Shadow Trial to remove the Chaos Elentals from Voraka Site and breathe life into the planet.
Naless Death suddenly realized sothing, "Why the hell are there two Supres of Shadow? One is protecting the Sacred Gate, and the other is trying to destroy the Site."
"The one protecting the Sacred Gate is an Ashborn."
"And what is an Ashborn?"
"People from previous Eon Strand."
Naless Death gave her a deadpan stare. How the fuck was he supposed to know what was an 'Eon Strand'?
Noticing her giggling at his reaction, he understood she was just leading him in circles.
Nonetheless, he asked directly, "What is an Eon Strand?"
She had been answering his questions patiently, so she would perhaps answer this one too.
"I can't answer that." She gave a aningful smile. "My deal with Supre of Void doesn't necessitate to give you that answer. But…"
"But?"
"But if you make a deal with …!?"
The witch quickly flew away and grew alert.
She looked at the darkness behind Naless Death and raised her hands.
"I was just joking. I wasn't going to do anything to him, or make a deal with him."
"…?" Naless Death was confused by her reaction.
He turned around, but all he saw was the darkness of Abyss.
"Oh well," she said, drawing Naless Death's attention. "The deal is off. I won't answer any question unless it's related to my deal with Supre of Void."
Naless Death looked at her for a mont.
This woman was strange.
Her reactions were weird but given the fact that she was living alone in this dark abyss for who knows how long, perhaps it was normal for her to be insane.
Her lips twitched as if she could read his thoughts but she didn't say anything.
"Why isn't the Supre of Void protecting the Sites himself?"
"I can't answer that."
"Who are the Sites being hidden from?"
"I will answer that question when you are about to leave this place."
"Okay," Naless Death accepted her answer. At least she didn't say she won't answer. "Last question, what makes you sure I would want to help Supre of Void? I would rather kill him than help him."
"You too?" her eyes shined. "I'm the sa. I pray every day that he dies in a ditch sowhere."
Then, she clicked her tongue. "But a contract is a contract so I need to help him with this thing."
"So you are saying I will help him due to a contract too?"
"No," she shook her head. "Neither Supre of Void, nor I will force you to help him. But.... well, let's just say you will help him when you find out the reason why he is hiding the Sites."
She waved her hand to stop him from posing another question.
"That was your last question. Now listen to ."
Her gaze grew serious.
"I will help you create your Path. After you receive my help, I will show you why you need to protect the Sites, then you can leave 'this place'. Whether you actually help Supre of Void or not after that depends on you."
"I already have all the ways to build my Path of Ascension. I don't need your help for it."
"Really?" she scoffed. "You are missing the majority of your mories. If you don't have them, how are you going to create 'your' Path of Ascension? Any Path you create in your current condition will be incomplete, since it won't embody the true 'you'."
