"Yes, all my abilities are locked until Level 10," Fenric groaned at the blue screen. "I need to reach Level 10 first. Damn it, why is my reincarnation like this? Everyone else gets reborn as princes or heroes—"

He paused.

"Wait... why do I feel scared of the word prince?" Fenric muttered under his breath, a strange chill crawling up his spine.

He shook his head and looked at the girl in front of him.

"Is there anything I can do to help?" he asked.

She kept her eyes on the Kraken, spear raised, but spoke sharply:

"Can you use a bow?"

Fenric straightened up with sudden pride.

"Yeah! I can actually do that. I was... kinda a national champion in archery back on Earth."

"Good." She reached behind her back and pulled out a sleek black bow, handing it to him. "Then use this."

Fenric stared at the weapon like it was made of diamonds.

"Cool..."

"Pull the string. The arrow’s will automatically form based on your dominant Elental Affinity. Aim for the eyes," she instructed quickly. "You’re too weak to damage its body with the level of the arrows you can create at your level."

Fenric nodded, taking a slow breath as he stepped beside her.

"Okay... just pull the string and hope this works..."

He drew the bowstring back— and sothing strange happened.

A bright, molten gold light flowed from his fingers... forming the shape of an arrow.

Fenric blinked.

"...No way."

Fenric took a deep breath.

"Okay... aim for the eyes and it’s done," he whispered, trying to steady his shaking hands.

He focused on the Kraken’s giant yellow eye staring right at the villagers.

Don’t miss. Don’t miss. Don’t miss.

He let go.

FWOOOOSH!

The golden arrow shot out faster than any arrow he ever fired on Earth. The air shimred around it as it flew—

—straight into the Kraken’s middle eye.

SKREEEEEEEEEEE!!

The monster screeched so loud the whole village shook. Dark green blood exploded outward like a fountain.

Fenric laughed nervously.

"Hahahaha... I did it—HOLY SHIT I DID IT!"

A blue screen popped up:

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

🎯 Critical Hit!

You hit a weak point!

Damage multiplied by x15!

25 EXP

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Fenric’s jaw dropped.

"Critical hit?! First shot?! I’m a genius!"

But then...

The Kraken turned its head slowly toward Fenric, fury burning in its remaining eyes.

The girl’s face went pale.

"You idiot!" she yelled. "Now it’s coming for you!"

Fenric gulped as the massive creature began dragging its entire body onto the shore, roaring louder than thunder.

"...I liked it better when it ignored ," he squeaked.

The tentacles smashed through buildings, heading directly toward them.

Fenric scread:

"UH—HELP?!"

The girl grabbed his arm and pulled him back.

"If the Chief doesn’t arrive soon, we’re dead!" she shouted.

The Kraken raised a tentacle high—ready to crush them both.

Fenric’s eyes widened.

"Oh God... I should’ve stayed asleep..."

The girl yanked Fenric by the wrist, dragging him through the sand as the Kraken’s tentacle slamd down behind them—BOOOOM!—sending splinters and debris flying.

Villagers fought desperately all around: archers firing arrows, mages launching weak spells, warriors hacking at tentacles with blades that barely cut the skin.

One older man shouted while parrying a whip-like tentacle:

"Protect the outsider! He’s the one from the prophecy!"

Fenric’s feet slipped and he nearly face-planted.

"WAIT—WHAT PROPHECY?!" he yelled back, confused and terrified.

The girl didn’t stop running.

"There is no ti to explain!" she shouted. "Just keep moving!"

Fenric could barely breathe as another tentacle smashed into the sand beside them, throwing him into the air.

"WAAAH—!"

The girl used wind magic to jump and catch him mid-fall.

"Hey! Watch where you swing ! I’m fragile!" Fenric cried.

"Then don’t die!" she snapped back.

They slid behind a broken house wall to take cover. The Kraken’s single bleeding eye scanned wildly, looking for him.

Fenric panted. "Are we sure the Chief guy is coming? Because I’m starting to think he overslept or sothing!"

The girl glared. "He will co. He’s the strongest in this region. When he returns, the Kraken will regret stepping on this land."

Fenric peeked over the wall—bad idea.

A tentacle whipped at him imdiately.

SCHLAAAP!

He ducked, falling back on his butt.

"GODDAMMIT! Why is it only targeting ?!"

The girl answered without hesitation:

"You shot its eye."

"...Okay... fair."

Then—

A new notification flashed in front of Fenric:

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Fenric stared in horror.

"EIGHT MINUTES?! THAT’S LIKE... THREE YEARS IN PANIC TI!"

The girl tightened her grip on her spear.

"Then panic while running. It keeps you alive."

Fenric gulped.

"Great... best isekai ever..."

The Kraken roared again and began charging toward their hiding spot.

Fenric’s heart jumped into his throat.

"OKAY OKAY WE’RE LEAVING NOW!" he shouted as they sprinted once more.

The ground shook as the Kraken dragged itself farther onto land, smashing anything in its way. Fenric and the girl ran as fast as they could, dodging falling debris and broken wood.

Fenric shouted while running:

"Is this normal here? Giant sea monsters attacking every Tuesday?!"

"No!" the girl yelled back. "Only when the Chief is gone!"

"That doesn’t make feel better!!"

A group of villagers ford a line to protect them. Shields raised, spells ready.

"Buy them ti!" one shouted.

Tentacles slamd into them like a storm. So flew back screaming. Others kept fighting.

Fenric felt his chest tighten.

"They’re risking their lives for ... and I’m just running."

He slowed down for a mont... thinking.

Then he looked at the bow in his hand.

"Okay... I can’t just run like a coward."

The girl stopped and turned sharply.

"What are you doing?!"

Fenric forced a shaky smile.

"I’m doing sothing stupid... but maybe it’ll help."

He raised the bow again.

This ti, he aid for another eye.

He pulled the string— the golden arrow ford again. Brighter. Stronger.

"Co on... please work again..."

He let go.

The arrow flew— shining like a shooting star—

— and hit the Kraken’s second eye!

SKRREEEEE!!!

The monster thrashed in pain, smashing the ground wildly.

More notifications popped up:

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

🎯 Weak Point Hit!

Level Up!

You are now Level 2!

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Fenric stared in surprise.

"I leveled up?! Already?!"

The girl blinked at him, shocked.

"You—you actually hit it again..."

But they didn’t get to celebrate.

The Kraken, now half-blind, roared in pure rage and slamd two massive tentacles at them.

Fenric’s face turned white.

"OH CO ON—!!"

He grabbed the girl’s hand and ran again.

"How many minutes left?!" she asked.

Fenric glanced at the tir.

6:42 remaining.

He scread:

"WAY TOO LONG!!!"

The Kraken chased after them again— even angrier than before.
