Chapter 804: Chapter 802: The Fugitive

Joseph’s eyes revealed a hint of vigilance as he glanced at Richard and Bobbobovic, who were still in conversation. He reached into his chest pocket and took out a crystal ball.

Injecting mana into the crystal ball, it pulsed with a “hum,” several rays of light flashed, and then it dimd.

Looking at the dim crystal ball, Joseph pondered for a mont, as if obtaining so key information. He looked again at Richard and Bobbobovic.

Richard was looking at him and asked, “Are you contacting the organization?”

“Yes.” Joseph nodded, not denying it. “I just contacted the organization to inquire about the situation.”

“What did the organization say?” Richard asked.

“Could it be that there are actually two Level 4 Wizards fighting?” Bobbobovic asked, proposing uncertainly, “Maybe we could get a bit closer to see the battlefield.”

“It’s best not to do that.” Joseph spoke up to stop them, saying, “The information returned by the organization is that it seems because the organization’s mbers intercepted an important target, so accident occurred, which eventually led to a conflict. The site is rather dangerous and has already been fully handled by higher-ups; we cannot intervene; we should just return to Delan.”

“So, we can’t go take a look?” Bobbobovic asked, looking sowhat disappointed.

“I’m afraid not, it’s for safety reasons,” Joseph said seriously.

“Alright then,” Bobbobovic shrugged, accepting. “Let’s head back to Delan, and take a break, right Richard?” Bobbobovic turned to look at Richard.

Richard slowly retracted his gaze from the northwest sky. Combining Joseph’s words, he had a guess about the situation on-site: perhaps the one involved was the black-faced elder, Oscar. He rembered the other had ntioned not staying long in Delan and leaving soon. The timing was just right.

However, he didn’t show it, he just responded to Bobbobovic, “I agree with your view; going back to Delan early isn’t a bad thing.”

“Let’s go then.”

“Mm.”

Soon, the three of them got into the waiting four-wheeled carriage and set off in the direction of Delan.

The northwest direction.

The ground was scorched and charred, with gullies crisscrossed. Grass and trees within sight were engulfed in roaring flas, turning into charcoal bit by bit in the blaze.

A middle-aged man in a splendid golden robe stood on the ground, wearing a gleaming ring on his hand, squinting as he looked into the distance, his mind wandering with unknown thoughts.

“Swoosh swoosh swoosh!”

Several whooshing sounds were heard; a few mbers of the Truth Society hurriedly arrived. Seeing the golden-robed man’s deanor, they asked, “Supervisor Long i’er, what’s wrong, are you okay?”

The golden-robed man Long i’er returned to his senses, lightly glanced at the arriving Truth Society mbers, and shook his head with a bit of self-deprecation, saying, “I’m fine, just a bit angry.”

“Angry?” Truth Society mbers looked at each other, puzzled.

Long i’er explained, “Earlier, I received a ssage from Canon Steward in Delan, saying soone from the Soma Alliance might pass through here, which I didn’t believe. Because I didn’t think anyone would have such audacity, but now it seems soone really is fearless. Ha, just a Level 4 Wizard, really thought he was invincible? But wasn’t he still heavily injured by ? If he hadn’t run fast, he would’ve stayed here forever.”

Hearing Long i’er’s words, a Truth Society mber cautiously asked, “Supervisor, what do we do next?”

“Simple, contact the rest of the organization’s mbers, search for the target’s traces, and pinpoint the target’s location,” Long i’er said sternly. “Once confird, inform him imdiately. I want him to co and go without return, make him realize ‘Pompeii’ isn’t sothing that can be casually spied upon!”

“Yes.”

“Go ahead then,” Long i’er waved his hand.

Truth Society mbers quickly dispersed.

Ti passed swiftly, and before long it was nightti.

In a wilderness near the border of the Southern Free Federation.

Two figures appeared, one was the black-faced elder Oscar, the other was his Level 4 Wizard Guard Zong Hu.

Zong Hu is a very strange na, in so sense, even stranger than the fabricated na Bobbobovic. Only a small number of people understand, this odd na actually represents an ancient, almost extinct lineage, representing a mysterious heritage.

It is for this reason that the person with this na could beco one of the rare Level 4 Wizards on the continent.

But now, the person with this na was not in good condition.

During their journey, his movents were stiff, frequently touching the spot on the right side of his chest where there was a fist-sized wound, continually oozing blood. This was caused by a spell carrying intense erosive energy, and without specialized treatnt, it was challenging to heal, he could only barely hold on.

And now, there wasn’t any opportunity to stop for treatnt, so Guard Zong Hu could only frown as he trudged on.

After walking for a while, Zong Hu stopped, took a breath, cautiously surveyed their surroundings, and then looked at the black-faced elder Oscar following him.

Oscar, an elder, although uninjured, had even less physical strength than the injured Guard Zong Hu, reaching exhaustion by now, but he uttered no complaint.

Seeing the guard stop, the elderly Oscar asked, “What’s the matter, Zong Hu?”

“My lord, there are no enemies nearby, we can rest for a while,” Guard Zong Hu analyzed calmly. “In the previous period, we successfully evaded three batches of enemies, killed five batches, and changed direction four tis, likely disrupting their judgnt, successfully nearing the border.

Next, we rest for a mont, sprint across the border in one go, cross the Chaotic Mountain Range, and enter the Soma Alliance. Then head to South Capital ‘Shaya’, and we’ll be safe. No matter how frenzied their people are, they can’t possibly chase us to Shaya. Otherwise, what they did to us, we’ll repay a thousandfold.”

“Alright.” The elder Oscar nodded, agreeing with the guard’s words. Then looking at the guard with so guilt, he spoke up, “Zong Hu, this ti, it’s actually my fault. If it weren’t for my eagerness to see the so-called Pompeii, we wouldn’t be in this dire situation now.”

“No need for self-bla, my lord,” Guard Zong Hu said seriously. “I made a mistake too. I underestimated the opponent’s strength, didn’t expect them to have a match for . Otherwise, I would’ve never agreed to your proposal. But fortunately, we’re almost safe now, and we’ve successfully gathered information about Pompeii, so this action is indeed a success.”

“Alright, I’m relieved you think so,” the elder Oscar said. Then thinking of sothing, he reached into his chest and took out a flat wooden box.
