Chapter 569: Chapter 567: Holy Land Key

Next, Richard, Heidi, and Narlyd talked about quite a few things. Heidi and Narlyd were able to learn more about each other, while Richard set aside a minor concern: confirming the whereabouts and safety of the Cat Slave Girl, Heidi. Thus, he no longer needed to search for her and could focus on his research and cracking the ultimate secrets of the Black Spirit King.

As they conversed, a light series of footsteps arose from nearby. It was their teacher—Wizard Cessi—coming their way.

At the sound of the footsteps, Heidi and Narlyd quickly turned around, and after seeing it was their teacher, they imdiately introduced Richard. Then, they introduced their teacher to Richard.

After the introductions, Richard took the initiative to speak up and greeted Cessi, “Master Cessi, hello!”

“Ha, I’m hardly a master, just an ordinary wizard,” Cessi replied with a light chuckle, then her tone shifted, “But to hear you’re a student of Master Guluo, that surprises . It must have not been easy to beco her student, right?”

“What, Master Cessi knows my teacher?” Richard’s eyes sparkled upon hearing this. One of his purposes for attending the exchange eting was to gather more information about Guluo from the other wizards, in hopes of finding the Holy Land Key. Naturally, he wouldn’t let this opportunity pass.

Hearing Richard’s words, Cessi did not hide anything and nodded slightly, “I indeed know Master Guluo, but… that was over a decade ago, her teeth hadn’t all fallen out back then.”

“Uh… ”

“Later on, Master Guluo rarely made public appearances, and I haven’t seen her since. However, Master Guluo possesses a vast array of knowledge. If you study closely by her side, you’ll surely benefit greatly.”

“Thank you for the guidance, Master Cessi,” Richard said with a smile, ready to ask for more details, but Cessi seed not to want to continue the topic.

With a mild smile, Cessi said, “All right, the exchange eting is over, and I must take my two students back. If you wish to et my two students again, or have any questions to ask , you can find at the Green Wind Camp later. But now, it’s ti to say goodbye.”

“Uh…” Richard was taken aback for a mont and sowhat helpless, but he couldn’t force the issue, and said, “Then goodbye, Master Cessi.”

“Mhm, farewell,” Cessi responded. After the words were spoken, she walked away with Heidi and Narlyd to one side. Heidi and Narlyd, a little reluctant, waved continuously, but gradually, they walked farther away.

Once Heidi, Narlyd, and Cessi had walked a distance, Cessi suddenly spoke up, asking Heidi and Narlyd, “You both know the person nad Richard?”

“Yes.”

“That’s quite a coincidence, considering the places you both used to stay are completely different.”

“Indeed. But, I t Mr. Richard in White Stone City. He visited my grandfather a few tis…” Heidi said.

“And I t him during my last visit to Florence…” Narlyd added.

After hearing what the two students said, Cessi simply nodded without saying much.

Heidi and Narlyd couldn’t help but ask, “Teacher, you don’t think he’s a bad person, do you?”

“Ha, why would you think that?” Cessi asked with a smile.

“Because…” The two of them suddenly couldn’t articulate why—they just instinctively felt that their teacher was overly polite to Richard, but then realized she seed to always be like that with everyone else.

“Do you two think he’s a bad person?” Cessi asked them in return.

“Not at all,” Heidi quickly said, “Mr. Richard has saved ; how could he be a bad person?”

“I feel the sa, he has saved too,” Narlyd said, while internally muttering, He’s the man I plan to marry, surely he can’t be bad.

Cessi, hearing their words, simply smiled without comnt. However, she took out an apple-sized crystal ball from her pocket and slowly rotated it in her hand. She knew many ancient magics, including Prediction Magic. Although she couldn’t claim omniscience like in the legends, nor could she predict specifics about anything, she could gather so inclination information about a particular matter or person.

Continuously rotating the crystal ball, he saw a red stream first appear within it, followed by a black stream, and finally both red and black were enveloped by green. After pondering for a mont, Master Cessi slowly said, “Whether he is a good person, I don’t know, but he certainly isn’t ordinary. If you two want to stay safe, you can occasionally interact with him, but try not to do so too often, understand?”

“Really?”

“Would I lie to you both?”

“Oh…” Heidi and Narlyd exchanged glances, their expressions odd.

Elsewhere.

In the dwelling of Wizard Gulo, the underground space.

Richard had returned, standing there with his eyes closed, seriously recalling the events of the exchange eting, in particular the conversations with Heidi, Narlyd, and Cessi, ensuring there were no slip-ups revealed, and let out a breath. Opening his eyes, he walked to a corner, preparing to enter Eden to continue researching the location of the hidden Holy Land Key.

But just seconds before he was about to enter Eden, his gaze swept over to the corner where Gulo’s corpse lay, causing his brow to furrow.

Gulo’s body had remained unchanged after death, lying in the corner, almost forgotten by him, but this ti when he saw it, he suddenly sensed sothing was amiss.

Hmm, sothing was off.

Where was it off?

Richard’s brows knitted tightly, and monts later, his gaze fell on Gulo’s mouth, slightly ajar, and he saw a complete set of teeth.

Teeth?

Teeth!

What had Cessi said before?

“I indeed knew your teacher Gulo, but that was more than ten years ago. I rember back then Master Gulo hadn’t lost all of his teeth yet.”

Richard swiftly recalled this statent, his gaze becoming increntally sharper.

“Teeth grow in infancy, falling out by the age of six to be replaced by the permanent teeth that are ant to last a lifeti. In theory, once permanent teeth fall out, they cannot grow back, and even with the use of Transformation Spells to forcefully reverse growth, one shouldn’t achieve this effect from being too decrepit. So, these must be false teeth.

But their construction so tight, their size so large, even as false teeth, they aren’t very suited for chewing… However, they could be quite advantageous for hiding sothing.”

“Hmm, hiding sothing! So, the thing is hidden inside here?”

As Richard ca to this conclusion, he pursed his lips, took a deep breath, stepped over to Gulo’s corpse, and reached into the other’s mouth.

“Click!”

A crisp sound echoed as Richard applied a slight force, and Gulo’s entire set of teeth was pried out, indeed revealed to be false.

Holding the false teeth in hand, he exerted a bit of pressure, and with a “snap,” they crumbled into pieces.

Among the fragnts, a strangely shaped tal key appeared, slender and intricate, with complex magic runes inscribed upon it, flickering with a faint golden shimr.

“The Holy Land Key, huh,” Richard said aloud, “Phew, finally found it. In a sense, I suppose I should thank you, Master Cessi. Yes, thank you for the tip.”
