Chapter 412: Chapter 411: Explosion is the Truth
Underground base, council hall.
Ji Burlen took a deep breath, his gaze sharp as he began to command.
With a wave of his hand and a point at a few individuals, he quickly gave an order, “Tuoke, Mu Konni, Rum, Has, you leave from door one and search along the third corridor.”
“Yes!” The called individuals nodded and rapidly rushed away.
“Locke, Musters, Love,” Ji Burlen continued, “you guys leave from door two and search along the fifth corridor, and don’t overlook a single corner!”
“Yes!” The ones who were nad didn’t hesitate either and dashed out the door.
“Bill, Tokchi, Nani, you…”
Ji Burlen kept issuing orders until even Vasily, who had turned into a bloodsucking bat, was mobilized, forming an impregnable net with everyone, encircling the “fleeing” enemy inside the base.
…
“Tat tat tat…”
“Tat tat tat…”
The sound of footsteps echoed through the base; the mbers of the mysterious organization split into many teams to search, eventually convening in an empty hall without having found a trace of the enemy.
Ji Burlen appeared there as well, his expression cold, his eyes narrowing as he said, “Not found, huh? It seems that kid is still quite crafty, but no matter, he won’t get away.
“Next…” Ji Burlen issued another command, “Tuoke, Mu Konni, Rum, Has, search from corridor nine towards the storage room.”
“Yes.”
“Locke, Musters, Love, you go directly to the data archive.”
“Yes.”
“Bill, Tokchi, Nani, you…”
“Vasily…”
With Ji Burlen’s voice, everyone mobilized again.
After the bustle, everyone t for the second ti at an intersection of several corridors within the base, still without success.
Everyone’s hearts were sowhat disturbed, they looked towards Ji Burlen with trepidation, fearing his wrath.
But at that mont, Ji Burlen’s expression was a mix of a smile and non-smile, not only not angry but instead looking a bit mysterious.
“Steward Ji Burlen, what is this…” soone tentatively asked.
“Heh, you must think that it’s my poor command that has failed to find the other party, or let the person escape, right?”
“Isn’t it?”
“Of course… not!” Ji Burlen said in a deep voice, his eyes bursting with intense light, “All of my commands just a while ago were not actually to find that infiltrating enemy. I know that person has many tricky thods, and simply searching would hardly be effective. So, from the beginning, my goal was to shrink the range of areas he could hide in.
“Having you continuously search was to pressure him towards a certain location, leaving him nowhere to run. This is like casting a wide net in the sea; the net keeps getting pulled up, and at the end, any fish that enter this net can only appear at the bottom.”
“So the enemy is now at…”
“The enemy is now at…” Ji Burlen’s lips curled up, “the council hall!”
“This!” The crowd was surprised, looking at Ji Burlen with a mix of shock and admiration.
Without further ado, Ji Burlen shouted, “Tuoke, Mu Konni, Rum, Has, you return to the council hall from the third corridor and block door one for , not even letting an ant escape!”
“Yes!”
“Locke, Musters, Love, return to the council hall from the fifth corridor and seal off door two; you must succeed!”
“Yes!”
“Bill, Tokchi, Nani, return from the seventh corridor to the council hall and block door three; understood?”
“Understood!”
“Vasily …”
“Yes …”
“The rest of you, follow back to the council hall from the first corridor and burst in through door seven to capture the opponent!”
“Yes!”
“Move out!” Ji Burlen waved his hand grandly, leading a large group of people towards the center of the encirclent—the council hall—as a rare fierceness appeared on his face.
He was not soone who often lost his temper, but today’s incident had truly angered him. He was determined to catch the one who had stealthily infiltrated, making their life a living hell!
A living hell!
Ji Burlen shouted in his heart as he led his people to the council hall’s door. Without any hesitation, he kicked open the door and burst in.
At the sa ti, the remaining personnel who had rushed over also broke through the doors, bursting into the assembly hall.
Then, they collectively paused in shock.
They saw that the entire assembly hall was empty except for their own people—there were no enemies in sight.
This!
Ji Burlen’s expression instantly turned exceedingly grim. His perception expanded fully as he swept over every corner of the assembly hall ti and again, but he detected nothing out of the ordinary.
Ji Burlen’s brow furrowed deeply.
That’s not right! It shouldn’t be like this!
According to his plan, the person who had sneaked in could only be hiding here in the assembly hall. He should have been able to catch them.
But why have they disappeared?
Could it be that the enemy had seen through his plan and set a counter-trap for him?
Impossible, absolutely impossible. How could there be soone in the world that smart? Besides, even if they really had seen through his plan, how could they have evaded search after search without revealing themselves?
Ji Burlen’s brow knotted, feeling that his thoughts had hit a dead end.
What on earth was going on? Where was the damn stealthy intruder now?
At this mont, everyone in the assembly hall was silently looking at him, waiting for his instruction. The bloodsucking bats, transford by Vasily, hovered continuously above his head.
In such an environnt, he felt his mind was truly on the verge of collapse. He paced a few steps, walked up to a table nearby, and couldn’t help but pound his fist down.
“Bang!”
The quality of the wooden table was quite good. After being pounded with a fist, it surprisingly didn’t shatter, but everything on the table flew up, among which was a peculiar tallic ball.
“Hmm?”
Ji Burlen’s eyes and eyebrows raised. From inside the tallic ball, he clearly sensed an out-of-place energy fluctuation.
This energy fluctuation seed like a purposely left ‘spell effect,’ trying to activate sothing.
Then it activated…
It activated sothing called the “Destruction Pearl”…
“Boom!”
Ji Burlen heard an explosive sound coming from inside the tallic ball, which then began to tremble, vibrating continuously.
This…
Ji Burlen felt a dangerous premonition in his heart. Although he didn’t know why the tallic ball made him feel extrely threatened, he still tried to knock it away.
Just at that mont, the tallic ball vibrated to its limit and activated its self-destruct chanism.
In an instant, it was as if ti had stopped, and in between heaven and earth, there was only one sound.
That was…
“Boom!”
“Rumble!!”
“Rumble!!!”
A massive explosion occurred.
With the shattered tallic ball as the center, destructive-level force was released in an extrely short amount of ti, turning into an irresistible force!
The scorching flas spread like a beast unleashed from its cage.
Ji Burlen was hit first; the very next mont, he widened his eyes and tried to maintain a mana shield in defense. But in just an instant, the mana shield was devoured by the flas, followed by his body, and then all the mbers of the mysterious organization who had not yet reacted behind him.
“Swipe!”
In the blink of an eye, everyone in the hall, including the hall itself, vanished.
The power of destruction continued to spread unabated. It raged out of the hall like a demon, like a madman, spreading and diffusing throughout the entire base.
“Boom!”
“Rumble!!”
“Rumble!!!”
At this mont, the souls that had died wailed, wailing in reluctance, filled with anger and bitterness. Then they were utterly shattered by the destructive explosion, silenced before the absolute truth.
At this mont, explosion was truth!
At this mont, truth persuaded everything!
At this mont, soone’s third-phase plan, a ball on the knife-edge, drew to a perfect close.
