Chapter 271: Chapter 270: Fire in the Night Chapter 271: Chapter 270: Fire in the Night “Still don’t know?” Mu Konni looked at the burly man, her eyes squinting, “Such behavior is utterly disappointing, not at all befitting a good child. It really makes want to throw you down a valley to die or have you torn apart by wolves…”

“No… no more,” the burly man shuddered violently as he knelt down, clinging to Mu Konni’s feet, tears streaming down his face, “Mother, I… was wrong, I was wrong, please don’t punish , I… was truly wrong…”

Suo n frowned deeply and said to Mu Konni, “Is this necessary? To inflict three instances of Spiritual Control Magic on an ordinary man, just to watch him weep at your feet?”

“Ha,” Mu Konni smiled, her smile radiant, “Don’t you find it interesting? Since missions are already so boring, one must find so amusent for oneself.”

“Hmph.” Suo n clearly did not agree. He waved his hand, and a surge of energy flew out, striking the burly man’s body harshly.

The burly man, who was crying and begging Mu Konni, shook violently, collapsed limply, and lay motionless.

After doing this, Suo n placed his hand on the heavy wooden door, slightly pushed, and with a “bang,” the door shattered; he strode in.

However, Mu Konni glanced at the burly man, her voice full of sympathy, “You are so pitiful. You were not supposed to die, yet you encountered a heartless person. In that case, mother cannot save you, dear son…”

After saying this, Mu Konni quietly followed Suo n into the cellar behind the wooden door.

The cellar was large, spanning hundreds of square ters and over four ters high, not feeling cramped at all. Nurous torches lit up the walls, brightening the place. The floor was covered with a generous amount of quickli to absorb moisture, making it impossible to feel damp. In the corners were several large water tanks filled with water, ready to prevent any potential fires. Clearly, the owner of the place was very well-prepared.

In the middle of the cellar, there were several tables. One table was entirely filled with nurous pink potions, while the others held various bottles and potions. A shabbily-dressed old man in his fifties, who was very busy and faintly emanating waves of Mana—Third-level Wizard Apprentice.

The old man was about to pour a blue potion into another red one when he suddenly heard the wooden door being violently smashed, followed by two people entering. He lifted his head, his expression wary, and loudly demanded, “Who’s there?”

“The one who will kill you,” Mu Konni said, walking behind. She stretched out her hand, and as if with imnse suction, the old man was pulled into the air and landed in her grasp, then she tightly choked his neck.

“Cough, cough, cough,” the old man struggled violently, his face turning red and his eyes bulging with nurous blood vessels showing, as he struggled to breathe.

Mu Konni grabbed the old man by the neck, dragged him to a corner, and let go; the old man collapsed on the ground, greedily gasping for fresh air. After a while, feeling like he had regained his life, he looked up at Mu Konni, but before he could speak, he heard Mu Konni say, “Now, I ask and you answer! Understand? Otherwise, I will kill you!”

The old man’s body trembled violently.

“Understand?!” Mu Konni said again.

The old man’s body curled up.

“Understand?!” Mu Konni continued.

The old man curled up into a ball, whispering in a voice as faint as a mosquito, “Mom… mom, I… understand…”

Three consecutive “Bern’s Punishnts of Anger”!

Mu Konni started to smile, “Good, now tell …”

After a while,

Suo n looked at the table full of “Molotov’s Flower,” his eyes flickering. Mu Konni ca from behind and said, “Got it all.”

“What’s the situation?”

“The potions are concocted by that old guy himself. Ha, he really struck gold,” Mu Konni said. “He alone has the formula. Killing him would resolve the root issue. The batch that leaked earlier was his experintal product. The ones he’s now making are better, but haven’t been delivered yet. The person responsible for shipping them is the innkeeper, nad Max sothing.”

“Maxi Well,” Suo n said. “Looks like we can clean up everything all at once.”

“Hard to say.” Mu Konni suddenly thought of sothing and said, “That old guy also ntioned that before this batch, he had hastily made another batch of potions, which the innkeeper had taken to the city’s auction house, planning to auction them off in the next few days.”

“So, we still have to go to an auction?” Suo n asked.

“It seems so.”

“Then let’s do that, finish up here, and then head to the auction to retrieve and destroy the potion. That would complete the mission,” Suo n said. “After all, even if it weren’t for this, we would still need to attend the auction.”

“Indeed.”

“Let’s go, then.”

As Suo n spoke, he slowly moved a finger through the air, but Mu Konni quickly grabbed it.

“Hold on a minute,” Mu Konni said. “Since the mission doesn’t offer a reward, we need to take so advantage, don’t you think?”

Suo n didn’t respond.

Mu Konni walked over to a table filled with “Molotov’s Flower” potions, waved her hand, and half of the potions vanished into thin air.

“There,” Mu Konni turned around to face Suo n. “I left you seventy percent, alright?”

“I don’t need it,” Suo n replied.

“Oh, so righteous?” Mu Konni rolled her eyes.

“You should be well aware of the hallucinogenic potions in the organization, right? And it’s not this low-grade stuff, but sothing much more advanced and harmless,” Suo n said.

“Of course, I know,” Mu Konni replied. “But you know, you need points to use the ones in the organization. So, why shouldn’t I take these when they’re free? And, are you sure you don’t need any?”

“I don’t need any,” Suo n responded, stretching out a finger and slowly moving it through the air, igniting a fla at the tip, glowing golden.

“Whoosh!”

With a flick of his finger, Suo n sent the fla flying out. It floated mid-air like a flower, burning quietly as if it posed no danger.

Suo n then turned and walked toward the exit.

Mu Konni followed him and asked, “How long did you set?”

“Three minutes, that’s all we need.”

“Uh…”

A mont later.

Suo n and Mu Konni walked out of the tavern and onto the street.

With a huge “boom,” an explosion erupted behind them. Flas soared, and the Golden Boots Tavern vanished amidst the fire.

Before long, nurous dark figures from the city converged on the scene to investigate. They were wizards from the White Stone Tower.

Suo n and Mu Konni, however, had already reached a far distance.

Stopping on the street, Suo n turned to Mu Konni and said, “Let’s part ways here. You can go rest and relax. We’ll et again when it’s ti to act at the auction.”

“Alright,” Mu Konni waved her hand and walked off to one side.

Suo n turned and walked in the opposite direction.
