The long-haired woman looked at the man, her teeth clenched, and the anger in her heart erupted like a volcano, unwilling to be toyed with and imprisoned like this.

She forcibly cald herself, carefully feeling the source of the resistance. The next mont, she turned her head and saw her left arm wrapped in many semi-transparent red energy threads—it was these threads that were preventing her from leaving the house.

So that’s how it is.

Once the long-haired woman understood, she let out a disdainful cold laugh. In the next mont, her eyes sharpened, and with a wave of her right hand, a beam of golden light hit her left arm, severing it at the shoulder with a "bang" as it fell to the ground.

The woman felt the resistance suddenly disappear. Her brow relaxed, showing no concern for the injury, and continued to charge at the man next to the stone table.

But after just a few ters, new resistance appeared and stopped her again.

Stopping, the woman carefully observed and felt the presence of semi-transparent light green energy threads around her body. These energy threads were attached to various parts of her body, seemingly directly locking down her life force.

In other words, unless she died and her life force was completely gone, she would be constantly bound by these energy threads and unable to leave.

Am I really going to be imprisoned here forever?

The woman bit her lip deeply, glaring at the man beside the stone table, unwilling to give up. She waved her right hand, forming an ice cone, gripped it tightly, and rcilessly stabbed it into her own abdon.

"Puff, puff, puff!"

In a second, she stabbed multiple tis, as if she’s not stabbing herself.

And by doing this, the effect was obvious. As a large amount of blood gushed out, her body beca extrely weak, her life force plumting and nearly critical, with more than half of the light green energy threads vanishing.

Let’s see how you stop now!

She shouted in her heart, gathering all her strength to charge at the man beside the stone table again.

At the sa ti, she clenched her fist, punching out, her fist covered in a purple glow, like an energy-ford cannonball, full of power.

But when she ca within less than two ters of the man, her entire body suddenly tensed involuntarily. She felt an invisible chain deeply buried within her being inadvertently pulled out, and along with it, a soul attached to the end of the chain was also pulled out.

Soul!

Her body was struck as if by lightning, her steps halted abruptly, her eyes widening to the extre, staring at the man beside the stone table for several seconds before collapsing to the ground with a "thud," losing all consciousness.

"Ssshhh... The experintal subject breached the physical and life force restraints through self-mutilation..."

"Ssshhh... After breaching the first two restraints, the experintal subject attempted to continue breaking free. The soul restraint then manifested... Possibly because the soul power is too weak, the subject fell unconscious directly without struggle, leading to the following conclusions from this aspect..."

"Ssshhh..."

The man beside the stone table kept writing, stopping only after a while.

He left the stone table, approached the unconscious long-haired woman, squatted down to check on her, and then returned to the stone table to write again.

"Ssshhh... The experintal subject is currently in a critical state, her pulse has diminished to dangerous levels, with a complete loss of autonomous brain function, retaining only a weak pupil reflex..."

He wrote for a while longer before returning to the woman, checked her condition once more, then resud writing.

This cycle repeated several tis before he was done.

Several minutes later, the man finally put down his pen. He then approached the woman, lifted her up, and fed her so unknown pink liquid, proceeding to administer basic dical treatnt.

While treating her, he murmured, "Don’t die so easily, after all, there are many more items in this test that haven’t been conducted yet... You must persist... Hang in there..."

After more than ten minutes, the man’s treatnt concluded, and the woman’s condition slightly improved. He then threw her back into the house, turning to casually suggest to the three Sika spies, "By the way, would you like to... cooperate a bit with my test?"

The three Sika spies shook their heads frantically. Though they were wizards, they felt utterly helpless at that mont and had no thought of confronting the man.

The man saw this, exhaling disappointingly but said nothing more, leaving the room and returning to sit by the stone table to wait.

...

A considerable amount of ti passed.

The drugs seed to have taken effect, allowing the severely injured woman to awaken and understand from the three Sika spies what had transpired after she lost consciousness. Her gaze turned sowhat complex as she looked at the man outside the door.

"You imprisoned , yet you saved ?"

"No need to thank , I’m just aiming to complete the test," the man beside the stone table explained calmly, "By the way, I should comnd you. Among the four, you cooperate best with my work; I should be the one thanking you.

Alright, you’ve nearly recovered. Ready for another test? Of course, for you, it might just an trying to escape the restraints to reach and kill . However, it’s all the sa."

The woman was silent for several seconds after hearing this, looking at the man beside the stone table as if viewing an inhuman creature.

After a few seconds, her expression sowhat collapsed, she asked, "Who exactly are you? Don’t make guess, I want to know your real na!"

"My na?" The man beside the stone table expressed so confusion, confirming, "You truly don’t know who I am?"

"Of course not."

"So you weren’t coming specifically for this ti?" The man inquired, then nodded to himself, murmuring, "Indeed, if you were really coming for , it surely wouldn’t be just a small group like yours; you must have simply been here to steal intelligence. Well then, let introduce myself, my na is Richard, and if you turn back ti a year, we would still be considered colleagues."

The long-haired woman couldn’t help but step back upon hearing this, her breath montarily stalling: "You say... you are Richard!"

"Yes, I am Richard!"

"Did you destroy Pompeii?" The long-haired woman apparently had so knowledge of what Richard did—even though she hadn’t seen it firsthand, she had heard about it. Gnashing her teeth in anger, the first thing she did after snapping out of her shock was to clutch her abdominal wound and demand, "Did you destroy Pompeii?"

"Yes, it was I who destroyed Pompeii," Richard nodded, without denial.

"Did you betray us?" The long-haired woman pressed further.

"I wouldn’t call it betrayal. After all, I never truly joined you from the start," Richard corrected.

"Did you collude with the Alliance people?" The long-haired woman’s eyes reddened slightly.

"Collude is a bit much, it’s more of a collaboration," Richard defended.

"No matter how you put it, this ti, you’re prepared to unite with the Alliance people to completely wipe out our Truth Society, right? Such audacity!" the long-haired woman shouted.

Richard was slightly stunned by this remark, temporarily bereft of words: "This..."
