Capítulo 1209: Chapter 1207: Curse

“How about attacking the non-critical parts? Like the limbs?” Richard suggested.

“No, that’s still risky,” Moli replied, as the giant rat was already closing in. While leading her subordinates to retreat, she added, “We can’t determine which part of the giant rat’s body the energy furnace is in, so even attacking the limbs might damage it. Considering the energy furnace, I don’t want to take any risks, so let’s not do that.”

“Then how do you propose we solve it?” Richard asked with a slight frown, “Surely we can’t spend half a day fighting this giant rat, draining all its energy, and then cut open its body to extract the energy furnace, right?”

“I would like that, but it’s very difficult… or even unfeasible,” Moli said, “As I’ve told you before, the energy furnace is an energy source from the ancient wizard civilization, capable of providing energy endlessly.

I don’t know when this giant rat swallowed the energy furnace or how it withstands its side effects. However, even if it has only swallowed it for a few days, the accumulated energy combined with the continuously generated energy would be a staggering amount, and fully depleting it is akin to flattening a vast mountain range.”

“So what should we do?” Richard couldn’t help but ask Moli, “Since you’ve dismissed my thod, you should give an alternative. We’re cooperating to explore this ancient relic, and the rewards are split fifty-fifty. Frankly, I have half the say in this matter.

Out of trust in your intelligence, I can concede on certain matters. But if you insist on doing things the wrong way or dismiss the thod I believe to be correct, leading to danger, don’t bla for refusing. I will insist on handling it my way, as I must be responsible for myself.”

After saying that, during the retreat, Richard glanced at the persistent giant rat and shook the “Destructive Gloves” worn on his hand, his stance clear.

Moli blinked, her long lashes trembling slightly, her lips pressed together. After a mont of hesitation, she turned her head slightly, looking towards Xizhe, who wore the black iron mask.

Xizhe had no reaction, not even a shake of the head this ti.

Seeing this, Moli seed sowhat disappointed, turned back to look at Richard, and prepared to offer a not-so-intelligent solution—using one of her trump cards to try to control the giant rat’s movents in a relatively cumberso manner—she didn’t expect Richard to agree easily, but she had to try.

After all, the energy furnace was really important to her.

Thinking of this, just as Moli was about to speak, Xizhe suddenly spoke up.

“I do have an idea,” Xizhe said, glancing at the giant rat and addressing everyone, “This big beast clearly contains more energy than we can estimate. Trying to kill it with a direct frontal assault is not impossible, but it’s overly laborious. And with concerns about maintaining the integrity of the energy furnace inside it, our thods will inevitably be limited, possibly requiring great sacrifices to succeed.

To avoid this, we can take a different approach, using so rather insidious thods to achieve our goal. After all, we’re humans, and it’s just a beast. Our advantage lies in our wisdom; there’s no need to be at the sa level as it in competition. We can consider ourselves hunters, and treat it like the wildlife in the forest, and solve it using the thods hunters use for wild animals.”

“Trap?”

“Poison?”

Hearing Xizhe’s words, several in the group, including “One-eyed,” quickly guessed aloud.

Xizhe shook his head lightly and said, “Neither.”

“Then…”

“What I’m talking about is…” Xizhe gripped a wooden stick in his hand and solemnly said, “Curse!”

“Curse?! Will that really work?” so in the group, including “One-eyed,” questioned, skeptical, “An ordinary curse wouldn’t work on a giant rat, would it?”

“Curse?” Moli, hearing this, thought of sothing. Her expression changed slightly as she said, “Mr. Xizhe, do you an…”

“Yes, that’s the one,” Xizhe nodded before Moli finished, a mutual understanding between the two, leaving Richard and others, including “One-eyed,” puzzled.

Moli’s expression turned sowhat worried as she spoke to Xizhe, “That kind of curse cos at a great cost, and the success probability isn’t guaranteed. Isn’t it unsuited for use here?”

“You’re wrong; it’s perfectly suited for here,” Xizhe responded, “While that curse’s cost is indeed high, I’ve significantly improved the success rate. Additionally, with this beast’s massive body, it’s almost impossible to miss, making it the best choice.”

“But…”

“Captain, have you forgotten this saying: A good decision-maker must learn to take and give, and not strive for perfection—such ambition is the height of folly,” Xizhe said in a deep voice, “And now is such a ti.”

“This… okay!” Moli hesitated for a mont before finally biting her lip and agreeing. She turned to Xizhe and asked, “How should we cooperate with you?”

“It’s simple, block the attacks from this beast and give the opportunity to cast the curse—ten tis! Yes, ten tis! This curse has hardly any effect with a single cast; only when stacked continuously ten tis will it show its power.”

“Fine, ten tis it is.” Moli nodded firmly and shouted to her subordinates, “Take action, block that giant rat for !”

“Yes!” the group, including “One-eyed,” responded, stopping their evasive circling and actively charging toward the giant rat.

Afterward, Moli turned to Richard and asked, “How about you? Need any help?”

Richard raised an eyebrow, contemplated briefly, and responded, “Sure, I’ll cooperate. However, if the curse is fully cast and the problem remains unsolved, don’t bla for forcefully using my own thod.”

“Alright!” Moli replied solemnly.

“Good,” Richard said, and with that, he and Moli rushed towards the giant rat together.

“Boom! Boom! Boom!”

The next mont, a large number of powerful spells were unleashed, explosions sounded continuously, and the giant rat’s advance was forcibly halted as it got entangled with everyone.

It must be said, the giant rat’s defense was unimaginably strong, with ordinary spell attacks incapable of even scratching it, like an indestructible existence.

However, apart from its defense, the giant rat’s other aspects, such as attack and speed, were sowhat inferior.

Not that they were weak, just that there was a considerable gap compared to its defense.

Richard could see that the giant rat was not truly a waste but had vast untapped potential. Without a doubt, the giant rat swallowing the so-called energy furnace was purely accidental, and becoming such a massive creature was also an accident.

The giant rat’s situation was akin to a child accidentally obtaining a peerless artifact, only able to wield it blindly, using the artifact for its most basic purpose—enhancing defense with leaking energy, and apart from that, not knowing how to use more of its internal energy for other aspects.

In a sense, that’s also a blessing. Precisely because of this, he, Moli, and the group were able to withstand the giant rat’s attacks.
