Capítulo 1137: Chapter 1135: Ominous Object

The pink liquid was the newly improved Repair Spirit Liquid by Richard after breaking through research on the Blood Seal. After so simple tests, he was able to confirm that the improved Repair Spirit Liquid could speed up recovery efficiency by thirty percent. As for the taste… it’s hard to say; to know, one must taste it personally.

“Hoo—”

Richard took a deep breath, opened the stopper of the glass tube, and drank the liquid inside in one gulp.

The liquid entered his mouth, and all the familiar tastes erged: mashed sticky bananas, so expired fernted tofu, concentrated bitter lon juice, sowhat rotten durian…

After these tastes passed, a kind of explosive experience swept through all his taste buds like a grand wind taking the stage.

The taste was intensely spicy, as if a whole bottle of chili sauce had been poured into his mouth, and the oral cavity’s inner wall instantly gave birth to an unbearable burning pain. His tongue froze, almost losing feeling, taking a good mont before recovering. Then this intense spicy sensation leaped past the throat, sliding down the esophagus, towards the stomach, making the whole body “boil” internally.

One second, two seconds, three seconds…

“Hoo—”

After five or six seconds passed, Richard exhaled deeply, feeling the internal peace gradually returning.

The improved Repairing Potion’s effects surpassed his estimates, enhancing recovery efficiency by over forty percent. However, the taste had also worsened.

If this continues, oral ingestion is likely not a good thod anymore; intravenous injection might be worth considering.

With a bitter smile, Richard took another glass tube filled with potion from the cabinet, frowned as he drank it all, opened the door to the main laboratory, and walked out—the day had co for the Ancient Artifact Exchange eting to be held once more.

Stepping outside, Richard headed out of Eden with a glance, catching Pandora coming along with an empty wooden bucket.

Slightly tilting his head, Richard sowhat guessed when he asked Pandora, “Are you going up again to water that Magic Wand Vine of yours?”

“Mm.” Pandora nodded, giving a confirmatory answer.

“Don’t you think you’re watering it a bit too much?” Richard subtly reminded.

“No.” Pandora shook her head and answered seriously, “According to the Som Wand Planting Guide, the water I’ve given it is far from enough; it needs more effort.”

“Uh, alright…” Richard said, already having sentenced the Magic Wand Vine to death in his heart: it probably wouldn’t withstand even half a week; after all, a Magic Wand Vine is not a water-grown spider plant.

The Som Wand Planting Guide was simply misleading and could be renad to “One Hundred Ways to Kill a Magic Wand Vine.” The author of this book must not have been a serious researcher in plant cultivation; he should have been a rchant selling Magic Wand Vine seeds.

Muttering inwardly, Richard and Pandora left Eden and ascended to the ground.

Afterward, leaving Pandora in the garden to water the planted Magic Wand Vine, Richard walked out and boarded the carriage heading to the theater.

“Rumble…”

The car wheels turned, soon arriving at the theater.

Richard walked into the three-story hall familiarly, his gaze sweeping over Abel and his group who arrived early, randomly finding a seat to sit down, and began watching the program on stage.

This program, compared to the last one, was much more ordinary, no longer defying the mainstream. It was an ethical love drama nad… well, The Life of Elizabeth III.

Among the roles appearing were: Elizabeth III the female Marquis herself, her first lover, her second lover, her third lover… her first lover’s son, her second lover’s brother, her third lover’s uncle…

The plot progressed continuously, and twenty minutes later, it showcased a tragic ending: almost everyone was killed in a war except for Elizabeth III and her third lover’s uncle’s daughter—the program hinted that the little girl would beco Elizabeth IV.

The program ended, all actors bowed and retreated, and Richard gently rubbed his eyes, quietly awaiting the eting’s convening and seriously considering: next ti, perhaps he could arrive a bit later; although it’s not very courteous, the current dramas staged in Farlo City really didn’t align with his aesthetic.

Thinking about this, the old gentlemanly dressed Abel stood up, his gaze quickly scanning the room through a monocle, announcing, “Alright, let’s begin.”

Richard noticed that Abel’s announcent today was sowhat low and serious compared to usual.

Hmm?

Richard raised his eyebrows, instinctively guessing: Has sothing happened? Was Abel affected by the previous program’s sad ending?

Mystified, he felt Abel’s direct gaze towards him.

He blinked and asked aloud, “Mr. Abel, is there sothing wrong?”

“Wizard Richard, have you noticed that today’s eting is attended by fewer people?” Abel asked.

Richard turned his head, quickly scanning everyone in the room, noticing the number indeed wasn’t large, only more than a dozen.

But this was normal, as the Ancient Artifact Exchange eting was a scattered organization not mandatory for participation, and mbers often were absent due to trivial matters. Typically, less than half attended the etings; occasionally, if two-thirds showed up, it was considered a rare occasion.

After looking, Richard gazed at Abel and said, “Mr. Abel, today’s attendance is indeed rather sparse, but… after all, isn’t this a normal phenonon?”

“It is indeed a normal phenonon.” Abel did not deny it, gripping and releasing the Civilized Cane, exhaling and saying, “However, have you noticed that Wizard Rees, who traded with you last ti, is also absent this ti? You must know, Wizard Rees is very active in participating in etings, even if delayed by sothing, he would still inform. But this ti, he didn’t.”

Richard listened and furrowed his brow slightly, only then realizing Rees was absent.

Speaking of, he was planning to ask Rees about his insights on the Blood Seal sold, which might indirectly assist him in research.

The absence was indeed a small regret, but… why did Abel care so much about it?

“Perhaps Wizard Rees was delayed by so urgent matter?” Richard offered to Abel.

“No.” Abel shook his head, responding aloud, “He wasn’t delayed, but – dead.”

Upon hearing, Richard’s eyebrows shot up, his mind spinning rapidly: Abel stated this fact with his current attitude, could he be suspecting Richard of harming Rees? Considering Richard purchased Rees’s items at a high price, if there was so dissatisfaction, confronting Rees privately could very well be possible.

So, was Abel probing him?

Or did he overthink it, and Abel was simply stating a fact?

Richard pursed his lips, looked at Abel, and confird, “Wizard Rees really died?”

“Yes.” Abel nodded, sighed, and said, “Therefore, Wizard Richard, you must be careful.”

“Why?”

“Because this strongly proves the Blood Seal you bought last week from Wizard Rees has the terrifying curse rumored to be attached to such unclean objects.”
