Chapter 1109: Chapter 1107: Hell Reborn
Just as Richard was severely injured, on the verge of being killed by the Dead Sea, he blinked.
“Swish!”
Richard’s body faded again, like a pencil drawing being erased with a rubber, and in the blink of an eye, disappeared once more from the Dead Sea’s sight.
“This—”
The Dead Sea squinted, swiftly scanning around, but did not quickly pinpoint Richard’s reappearance location as it did the last ti. It took more than ten seconds to finally notice him in the sky several hundred ters away.
Several hundred ters away, Richard reappeared, with the injuries inflicted by the Dead Sea completely gone, though his face was quite pale, which was the cost of using Void Transfer Magic.
Void Transfer Magic is different from Void Avoidance Magic. The latter increases speed to dodge, while the forr integrates the body with Void Energy, almost immune to all attacks. However, this integrates the body with Void Energy, which leads to long-term negative effects. A very clear example of this was Allen Pompo from Saint Louis City.
Richard appeared, and the Dead Sea locked onto him again, saying with so understanding: “So, it’s letting part of your body escape into the void, no wonder you can avoid my damage. But considering the erosion of void energy, it’s actually like you are spreading the damage across all your remaining life. I want to see how long you can hold out relying solely on this ability.”
With that said, the Dead Sea launched forward, quickly closing in on Richard.
Richard reacted even faster, almost at the mont when the Dead Sea moved, he turned around and flew with all his might in the direction of escape—towards the Pompeii Ruins.
Pursuit vs. Escape.
The Dead Sea chased with terrifying power, while Richard tried every possible way to escape in front.
Richard’s speed was undeniably fast. All along, in competitions with anyone he encountered, he mostly erged victorious, even against Long i’er. But today, facing the Dead Sea, he felt speed suppression for the first ti.
If he was an arrow, then the Dead Sea was a crossbow bolt shot from a large chanical crossbow, far surpassing him in speed.
The few hundred ters distance he gained using Void Transfer Magic was quickly closed by the Dead Sea. Although the Dead Sea didn’t look relaxed—its chest heaved with heavy breathing—this did not stop the Dead Sea from gesturing to “summon” black energy chains and launch an attack.
“Puff puff puff!”
Black energy chains, like venomous snakes, wrapped around Richard’s body, piercing deeply, causing a spray of blood mist.
Then, Richard’s body quickly faded and disappeared as before.
When he reappeared, he was again hundreds of ters away—this was the result of Richard reluctantly using Void Transfer Magic once more.
Now it seed, his actions were like drinking poison to quench thirst, desperately using Void Transfer Magic again and again, shouldering severe future negative consequences in exchange for temporary safety.
Clearly, this was not right.
What was even more despairing was that even so, it only slightly delayed the approaching death.
Once the Free Energy Elents inside his body were exhausted, and his body reached its limit, unable to withstand further void energy erosion, it would be his end.
However, Richard did not show these emotions on his face, casting Void Transfer Magic for the third ti, pulling away hundreds of ters from the Dead Sea again. After appearing, seeing the Dead Sea relentlessly pursuing out of the corner of his eye, he bit his lip and flew straight towards the Pompeii Ruins.
One second, two seconds, three seconds…
Ti kept slipping by, with Richard and the Dead Sea, in this chase and escape, returning to the Pompeii Ruins, back to Vesuvius Dake Volcano.
At this ti, the Vesuvius Dake Volcano, from the cracks of the volcano mouth, billowed black smoke covering the sky, the surrounding ground trembling crazily, and a stronger, full-scale eruption seed imminent.
Richard barely hesitated, plunging head-first into the crevice of the volcano’s mouth, as if intending to commit suicide in the belly of the volcano.
The Dead Sea chased behind, seeing Richard’s action, was slightly taken aback.
To be honest, he noticed Richard insistently fleeing towards the Pompeii Ruins and realized Richard must have a purpose, a plot, so he increased his vigilance. But never expected that the first thing Richard did upon arriving here was to “bathe” in the volcano’s belly.
Was he utterly desperate, preferring to die without leaving a corpse behind rather than let get his body to search his mory?
Or, was he trying to use the erupting volcano as cover to escape?
Lava is indeed powerful, but with magic defense, it can be resisted for a while. Perhaps in the volcano’s belly, Richard had a pre-dug secret passage, hoping to escape at the last mont.
If it’s really like this, there’s no way he would let this opportunity slip by.
Kid, don’t think of running away.
The Dead Sea’s gaze fixed, barely hesitating, chasing Richard into the crevice of the volcano mouth, delving deeper into the volcano’s belly.
Amidst the rolling black smoke emanating from the volcano, the Dead Sea’s eyes glimred red, quickly scanning around to search for Richard’s whereabouts, but found nothing.
Did he use that void magic again?
No problem, give it ten seconds or so, he’ll eventually show up, just wait and see if he can escape very far.
While the Dead Sea was thinking this, suddenly he saw in the tunnel leading to the volcano’s belly, there was an oval-shaped tal artifact, embedded into the stone wall by external force, covered with a thick energy mbrane, its purpose unknown.
What’s this? That kid’s doing? Could this be part of his plot?
Attempting to use this to stop my pursuit?
A bit naive, isn’t it?
The Dead Sea just thought of this, suddenly felt his heart skip a beat, then his yellow eyes widened, seeing an unbelievably bright sun rising in front of him.
Truth No.3—Convincing!
Enhanced Implosion-type Atomic Bomb, the last test piece in nuclear weapon research and manufacturing plan, designed yield—450,000 tons!
“Boom!”
A nuclear fireball with a diater of nearly two thousand ters erged, so large in volu that the volcano’s passage could not fully contain it, directly pressing outward to the volcano mouth crevice.
High temperature and high pressure capable of destroying everything rapidly spread, evaporating everything within its effect range, then part of the force vented upward while another pressed down into the volcano’s belly.
A massive amount of magma deep in the volcano, after charging, was surging upwards, but before exposing, brutally pressed down again and again to its limit.
Here, the power of the nuclear weapon collided fiercely with the power from deep within the planet.
A brief stalemate, balance quickly broken, the power of the nuclear weapon briefly peaked and rapidly weakened, the force from deep within the planet, stimulated, began a strong rebound.
“Rumble!”
In an instant, it was seen, a radius of a kiloter over the Pompeii Ruins’ ground was blown open, Vesuvius Dake Volcano, in a series of roaring noises, collapsed and vanished in place, replaced by a giant vertical shaft.
The shaft, several hundred ters in diater, seed to lead directly to the abyss, in deafening sounds, spewing an endless flow of magma.
The entire sky was burned red, the surrounding ground covered in falling lava, a view full of billowing black smoke and flas, as if hell reappeared, a doomsday scenario.
