Morning.

The sun rose from the horizon, releasing the first ray of golden sunlight.

This ray of light, like a fine needle piercing a balloon, made the darkness quickly shrink. The brightness from the east slowly filled the entire world, like an advancing tide sweeping across the continent.

The light spread to the small town of Pompeii on the mountainside of Vesuvius Dake volcano, announcing the official arrival of a new day.

The figures of three wizards appeared on the streets of Pompeii Town, one tall and two short. The tall wizard was at the front, leading the group silently and quickly forward, stopping shortly in front of a building — Pompeii Town, Section No.12, No.1248 Residence.

"Bang! Bang! Bang!"

The door was knocked heavily.

A few seconds later, with a creak, Richard opened the door from inside the room and saw the three unfamiliar Truth Society Wizards standing outside.

Their power was only around that of a First-level Wizard, showing no malice, carrying a business-like deanor. The tall male wizard at the front confird in a voice: "Wizard Richard, right?"

"Yes." Richard did not deny it.

"Alright." The male wizard nodded, "Sorry to bother you. We are here on Supervisor Long i’er’s instructions to invite you. He wants to et with you for a rather important discussion. Do you have ti now?"

Richard slightly raised his eyebrow and asked, "Where does the supervisor want to go now?"

"Just follow us, we will take you to the supervisor."

"Okay, please." Already prepared and with little hesitation, Richard agreed.

"Good." The tall wizard let out a slight sigh of relief, turned around, and led his companions toward the center of Pompeii Town.

Richard followed, glancing once toward the direction outside Pompeii, not seeing anyone from Oscar providing support, he silently adjusted the details of his plan in mind.

...

In no ti, the three wizards led Richard to the town center square of Pompeii.

Due to the recent break of dawn, there wasn’t a soul in sight here. A dent created by Cheka’s arrival a few days ago hadn’t been repaired yet, leaving the place looking sowhat desolate and dilapidated.

The leader of the three wizards pointed to the center of the square, politely saying, "Wizard Richard, please wait here for a mont. Supervisor Long i’er will soon arrive to et you."

"Alright."

"Then we’ll go attend to other matters?"

"Okay, goodbye."

"Goodbye."

The three wizards turned around and quickly walked into the distance, taking a turn after a few dozen ters, disappearing from view.

As the three disappeared, new figures appeared: powerful wizard silhouettes erged on the tops of stone buildings around the square. Many were Third-level Wizards, while the rest were Second-level Wizards, vaguely encircling the entire square.

Richard observed without much surprise, his eyes slightly narrowing before his ears twitched.

"Tap, tap, tap..."

A sound of footsteps arose, and a large group of people flocked into the square.

The crowd parted, revealing Cheka, who walked to the forefront, scrutinizing Richard closely. After a few seconds, he smiled and said, "Wizard Richard, we et again. But I think this might be our last eting. Do you want to know why?"

Richard didn’t respond, quietly watching Cheka, allowing him to perform solo.

"Hmm?" Seeing Richard silent for a while, Cheka was slightly puzzled.

"Pretending to be calm? Oh well, suit yourself." However, Cheka did not appear embarrassed at all, continuing, "I must say, Wizard Richard, your choice makes quite admiring. Earlier, Supervisor Long i’er defended you so much, even using magic tools exchanged with Divine Favored to buy you ti, just to give you a chance to worship the True God. But you refused him.

What, are you trying to say that the deadline Supervisor Long i’er gave you hasn’t arrived yet, so you haven’t refused him? Then what are you planning to do? At the last mont, tell Supervisor Long i’er that you are willing?

Unfortunately, Supervisor Long i’er is not so easily deceived. He may have had high hopes for you but now sees through your hypocritical heart, completely disappointed in you. Therefore, even if you haven’t verbally refused him, delaying as long as you have, in his eyes, is no different from a refusal.

In that case, he no longer has a reason to defend you. Your spy identity is destined to be exposed and to undergo judgnt.

Don’t think that this is just my one-sided argunt, that I duped Supervisor Long i’er into taking this improper action. Look around you, it should be clear that this is the decision of all of Pompeii.

The judgnt eting was already held yesterday in your absence, with Supervisor Long i’er personally devising a plan to deal with you. The reason he isn’t here now is that he’s gone to your residence to find evidence, and will et you here for confrontation so that you will have no argunt left."

...

No.1248 Residence.

"Crash!"

Wearing a golden robe, Long i’er pressed a hand against the door, shattering it completely.

Stepping inside over a layer of debris, Long i’er entered the house, silver-white light shining from his eyes, scanning all the items in the room, searching for evidence as ntioned in yesterday’s eting.

He never considered Richard innocent or clear, always believing Richard had issues, secretly conducting activities against the principles of the Truth Society. However, he didn’t see himself as stubborn or rigid and considered Richard’s potential and contributions to the Truth Society as reasons for so tolerance.

But Richard’s delaying actions left him very disappointed, ultimately deciding to handle this flawed candidate directly, spending ti afterward to choose an excellent successor.

Therefore, to make Richard truly "plead guilty," he felt it was necessary to find evidence of Richard’s guilt.

Richard’s previous argunt with Cheka centered on the lack of direct evidence.

Alright then, he would find it himself now.

Considering that Richard probably only had one or several Space Iron Rings, he wouldn’t be able to carry away everything from his residence. There would surely be sothing left behind, and it shouldn’t be too difficult to find.

Yet...

Long i’er swept his eyes around the room again. All items in the room appeared with different glows in his vision, so light blue, so light green, but none with any suspicious red glow.

This shouldn’t be... Long i’er furrowed his brows deeply, pacing as he scanned the room again, the silver-white light in his eyes growing brighter. After a dozen seconds, he halted his steps in the bedroom of the residence.

Lowering his head to look at the ground for a mont, he murmured, "So all the secrets are hidden underground? Alright then, Wizard Richard, let see what surprise you have left for ."

With a flick of his hand, the air in the room condensed violently into a mass, forming an air missile that slamd hard onto the floor.

With a crash, wood chips flew, revealing an entrance to a downward passageway.

Long i’er didn’t hesitate, casting a protective energy film on his body, and stepped down.

"Tap, tap, tap..."

Quickly, his entire figure disappeared into the passageway.
