Capítulo 1090: Chapter 1088: Waiting Doesn’t Have to Last Until the End
Ti flows quickly.
Long i’er has stayed in his residence, and a night has passed in the blink of an eye.
Early the next morning, the door to the residence was knocked, and monts later, with a creak, Long i’er opened it from inside.
Glancing at Inogova standing outside the door, Long i’er asked, “What’s the matter?”

“Agree to it.” Long i’er said decisively, then asked, “Is there anything else?”
“Nothing else.”
“Then go.” Long i’er said, reaching out to close the door, suddenly thinking of sothing, just before closing it, he asked Inogova, “Has Wizard Richard been to the office?”
“No.” Inogova shook her head, suggesting, “Should we send soone to check on him, remind him…”
“No need.” Long i’er refused, with a hint of confidence, “Wizard Richard is a smart man, I believe he will make the right choice. It’s just that, due to his personality, he might hesitate for a long ti before making a decision.”
“Yes.”
“Fall back.”
“Yes.”
“Bang!”
Long i’er closed the door.

Ti continued to pass, and before long, a whole day went by, and evening ca.
“Knock knock knock…”
The door to Long i’er’s residence was knocked again.
A few seconds later, with a creak, the door opened, and upon seeing Inogova outside, Long i’er furrowed his brow slightly, already having so guesses, “Is there a new demand from Cheka?”
“Yes.” Inogova said, “He is also requesting all the materials and magic scrolls that have ever been borrowed by Wizard Richard…”
“Give them to him.” Long i’er said.
“Yes.”
“Nothing else?”
“Nothing else.”
“Then about Richard…” Long i’er began, but upon seeing Inogova’s expression, he stopped, “Alright, I know, you may leave now.”
“Yes.”

Soon, another night passed.
The third morning arrived.
“Tap tap tap…”
Inogova walked toward the door of Long i’er’s residence, reaching out to knock.
Yet, before her hand touched the door, with a creak, it opened from inside on its own.
Inside, Long i’er appeared, looking inexplicably frustrated but holding it under control.
Glancing at Inogova, Long i’er spoke first before she could, “Has Wizard Richard still not been to the office?”
“No…no.” Inogova shook her head.
“Alright, I get it, you may go now.” Long i’er waved his hand dismissively, closing the door with a bang.
Inogova was stunned for a mont, then rembered the important matter, quickly calling out to the door, “Supervisor, the Cheka Inspector is requesting records from the other branches of the Southern Free Federation this ti…”
“Agree to it!” Long i’er’s response ca from inside, his voice a bit louder.
Inogova was startled and after a while, she quietly replied, “Yes.”
Turning to leave.

After Inogova left, several hours passed, and she returned again at dusk.
Walking with hesitancy, unsure how to report to Long i’er because Cheka’s demands had escalated, or rather beco more excessive, directly requesting records related to Long i’er from the past year.
What’s this for? Suspecting Long i’er of collusion with Richard? Really questioning Long i’er’s loyalty?
The more Inogova thought, the more infuriated she beca, hastening her pace towards Long i’er’s residence, wondering if she should knock softly, only to find the door wide open before her.
Inside, Long i’er sat in the first-floor hall, squinting at the dusk scenery outside the door, much calr compared to the morning’s irritation.
This is a good sign… Inogova stood at the door, sowhat surprised at Long i’er, not forgetting the main issue, “Supervisor, the Cheka Inspector he…”
“Don’t mind him for now.” Long i’er waved his hand to interrupt Inogova, speaking calmly, “I’ll speak with him myself.”
“Alright.” Inogova breathed a sigh of relief, speculating, “Could it be that Wizard Richard has co?”
“Actually, Richard hasn’t co yet.” Long i’er blinked, smiling as he revealed the truth, “To be honest, this disappoints a bit.”
“Hmm?” Inogova was puzzled, suddenly finding sothing terrifying in Long i’er’s smile, instinctively stepped back and defended Richard, “Maybe Wizard Richard wants to wait until the last mont to give you a response. After all, the deadline is tomorrow, we still have one night left.”
“Will he?” Long i’er asked back, continuing to gaze at the dusk outside, somberly musing, “I kept thinking if Richard truly waits until the last mont to choose to believe in the True God, then maybe he hasn’t believed at all. Just like in battle, if an enemy surrenders only at the eleventh hour, then he certainly doesn’t surrender sincerely.

Pressing his lips, Long i’er continued, “I gave Richard three days. My most optimistic estimate was that he would co looking for after a night—because he’s smart. Yet even if he was more stubborn, he should have co this morning, but he hasn’t.

“I made a mistake.” Long i’er smiled as he spoke, the corners of his mouth curling upwards simultaneously.
Long i’er smiled silently, the smile growing brighter.
Inogova watched, her heart seized by an inexplicable fear, her body unwillingly curling, clenching her hands, soon her palms were sweaty.
At that mont, Long i’er, without releasing any aura, made Inogova feel intensely oppressed, like a mountain pressing down on her, nearly suffocating to death.

Just as Inogova spoke, Long i’er’s smile vanished, the discomfort for Inogova disappearing along with it, causing her to sit heavily on the ground, gasping for air.
