What is this?!

Richard was puzzled, and before he could take any counterasures, he saw the faint energy wave already before his eyes.

"Swish!"

The energy wave quickly swept through his body, and Richard felt a slight chill all over. Then the mana within his magic origin surged violently like boiling water, causing a strong sensation of tearing and burning inside his body.

The free energy elents within the magic origin were also affected, though to a lesser extent, just fluctuating fiercely a few tis, adding to the discomfort in his body.

This is a bit like the effect of the black crystal ball that Deep Blue Castle’s Dean Sieg shattered during the revenge conference on the East Coast... Richard thought as he clenched his fist.

However, compared to that crystal ball, the current energy wave effect is more chaotic and more violent.

If the black crystal ball’s attack on the magic origin was targeted, now the energy wave’s attack is indiscriminate, so besides the mana, the free energy elents are also affected to so extent.

In that case, could it also affect so other things?

Richard raised an eyebrow, trying to calm his magic origin as he quickly left the Heavenly Pit testing site, gazing towards the distant buildings of Eden.

In his naked eye vision, he clearly saw that as the faint light spread, Eden’s entire energy system was strongly impacted, as if ten thousand electromagnetic lting furnaces had suddenly been activated. Under the overload pressure, nurous wires burst with sparks, crackling and snapping, burning and short-circuiting.

One by one, the instrunts rapidly went on strike, and each building followed, dimming down.

The lighting lamps placed high on the crystal walls surrounding Eden were not spared. With a "crack," they all extinguished simultaneously, throwing all of Eden into darkness.

Ergency lights turned on, casting faint and flickering light, barely illuminating so areas of Eden.

Then, an unprecedented, piercing alarm sounded.

"Squeak, squeak, squeak! Woo! Squeak, squeak, squeak! Woo!"

This was the highest level of alarm, designed to activate only when Eden was under full-scale attack.

Now, Eden was in such a state.

Watching this scene, Richard couldn’t help being a bit stunned.

To be honest, since the incident with the "Storm Box" during testing on the East Coast, he had made many improvents to the magic testing field. The main change was lowering the height, turning it into a Heavenly Pit, and increasing the distance from the building cluster.

This way, even if a "Storm Box" scenario happened again, the strong impact would be dispersed, weakened, and unable to destroy the Eden buildings.

But no matter how much he calculated, he did not foresee the generation of an anomalous energy wave.

Who could be blad for this?

Indeed, when he communicated with Witch Demon Elder Ah Fu just now, he did think to himself, "Let Eden be safe for a while." But he only thought about it in his heart and didn’t actually say it. That can’t be considered as speaking it into existence, right? That can’t be considered a jinx, right?

This really wasn’t his fault.

Smiling bitterly in his heart, Richard quickly headed towards Eden’s buildings, intending to see how severe the damage from the anomalous energy wave was, hoping there was still so chance to salvage the situation and complete the final work for the nuclear weapon’s manufacture.

After all, after working for so long, he really didn’t want to stop when so close to success.

Thinking this, his pace quickened.

...

On the other side.

With a "crack," as Eden’s lighting system collapsed, darkness surged like tidal waters from all directions, quickly swallowing up the clearing in front of the main laboratory.

Pandora and the Witch Demon Elder, who were talking in the clearing, were slightly startled, just about to speak when they simultaneously changed expression.

Both clearly felt a strange energy wave sweep through their bodies, causing their qi and blood to churn and the extraordinary energy within them to lose control.

The Witch Demon Elder felt slightly better because his current body was just that of an ordinary old man, without a magic origin, and even without mana. Usually, he relied on soul power to cast spells.

So after being hit by the strange energy wave, he just felt his brain sink and a bit dizzy, without much impact.

Pandora was different.

Even though she didn’t have sothing like a wizard’s magic source, her body, the blood flowing through her veins, her entire flesh and blood were different from ordinary people, stronger, and endowed with extraordinary power.

Swept by the energy wave, Pandora’s whole body shook, her nose heated up, and a thick stream of crimson blood trickled down from her nostrils.

"Drip!"

A drop of blood hit the ground.

With a "sizzle," as the blood ca into contact with the ground, a large cloud of steam rose, indicating an extrely high blood temperature.

Pandora’s brow furrowed, and her expression was sowhat twisted, looking a bit painful.

Under her clothes, her body slowly expanded, and a protrusion ford on her back—this was an uncontrollable transformation into her dragon form—hurt and with her species’ instinct triggered, her body attempted to assu the strongest form to resist unknown dangers.

The ergency lights ca on, and in the faint light, the Witch Demon Elder saw that Pandora seed to be in distress and worriedly asked, "Hey, kid, are you...are you okay?"

"Hah!" Pandora replied, clenching her fists, biting her lip, "I...I’m fine!"

With that, she bent down slightly, using all her control to forcibly suppress the transformation impulse. After that, with a "sniff," like snorting back snot, she sucked back the blood flowing from her nose and mouth, showing an expression of "I’m really fine."

"Phew—"

The Witch Demon Elder breathed a sigh of relief after seeing that, then asked in confusion, "What exactly happened?"

"I don’t know." Pandora shook her head in so confusion, providing an answer.

"Then—" The two exchanged glances, hesitated for a second, and almost simultaneously thought of a possibility the next mont. Without any hesitation, they looked in unison towards one direction, to be precise, a room—the chanical Processing Sector, Research Room No. 3.

"Could it be that dumb tree is rebelling again?" The Witch Demon Elder said, half surprised and half angered, "Wow, he’s really bold. We haven’t even settled last ti’s account with him yet, and now he’s causing trouble again! This ti, we must not let him off easily."

"Mm, we mustn’t let him off easily." Pandora nodded in agreent, thus affirming the Witch Demon Elder’s point of view—instinctively assuming that the one who initiated this trouble was Tin Wood.

After all, only Tin Wood has the motive to carry out such sabotage.

Reaching a consensus, the dragon and the witch demon didn’t delay, swiftly heading towards Research Room No. 3 at the fastest speed, ready to capture the audacious Tin Wood and give a good lesson.
