Chapter 393: 391, Dead end

“We can only move forward.”

Du Wei’s voice was sowhat weary.

This was due to excessive blood loss.

Not just from his wrist—blood had seeped from other parts of his body as well.

However, as that passageway disappeared, the bleeding slowed down and gradually ca to a stop.

There were no wounds at all.

...

At this mont.

The path behind had completely vanished.

Du Wei had no choice but to steel himself and keep moving forward; he couldn’t even afford to stop because the Horror House was no longer as he rembered it.

Anything in the current Horror House could undergo a transformation and kill in an utterly illogical manner.

The so-called rules had lost their aning.

Exploring rules required personal experience.

And in the Horror House, personal experience was akin to suicide.

Du Wei took a deep breath, felt his weakened body, and took another step forward.

anwhile, on the other side.

In the reflection of West Gana City.

A public bus was slowly making its way, traveling from one end of the city to the other.

At each stop, it paused and opened the front door.

It seed as though passengers were boarding the bus invisibly.

But while only the front door opened for passengers to board, the rear door, intended for alighting, remained tightly shut.

What was it doing?

At first, it rely cruised around the outskirts of the city, but gradually the bus moved towards the city center.

Of course, there was neither the Horror House nor any schools in this reflected city.

Perhaps this was a capability beyond normal human comprehension.

The Horror House sought to make the entire city part of itself, whereas the bus also seed to have set its sights on the city, though their thods were entirely different.

The forr was brutally simple, forcibly embedding itself into West Gana.

The latter seed sowhat more gentle.

In a sense, the bus was slightly weaker than the Horror House.

Ti ticked by, little by little.

Du Wei kept moving forward inside the Horror House.

He was in quite an awkward state now.

Just monts ago, the flintlock gun had been fired many tis.

Mostly to deal with the Evil Spirits encountered during the scare sections, as well as Ghosts that popped up out of nowhere.

There were not many bullets left, just three.

Du Wei really didn’t want to rush forward blindly, but he didn’t dare to stay in one place now, especially in the corridors.

He had developed a bit of a psychological shadow over those things.

Who knows if he would encounter the sa strange situations as before.

Even a chandelier, a door, now caused Du Wei to be vigilant.

He dare not stop.

He could only keep walking forward.

At this mont, Du Wei had already passed through the cross-shaped passage that had trapped him for nearly half an hour.

Behind him were corpses and a dense network of steel wires.

There were bodies of the staff as well as those of visitors, but they were not locals of West Gana; they were the people who died earliest in the Horror House in New York.

Further ahead was the Wax Museum of the Horror House, containing a Ground Gate.

Opening the Ground Gate would take one to the second underground level of the Horror House, the most central area.

Du Wei rembered clearly that the second underground level was a vast space, pitch-black, with many footprints on the floor and the presence of corpses.

Crossing that space, one would find a door.

Pushing it open would lead to the Evil Spirit Doll section, and beyond that, Ferocious Ghost Street.

But Du Wei didn’t need to go all the way to the end.

The second underground level was essentially the core area of the Horror House.

Once he went down, Du Wei would activate his Marking Ability.

At that point, over a hundred Evil Spirit students, along with thirteen drivers, and the bus itself would appear.

Everything would co to an end.

Du Wei took a deep breath, dragging his exhausted body, and continued walking forward.

Minutes later.

In front of the Horror Wax Museum.

The air was perated with the stench of rotting corpses.

The main gates were tightly closed.

Everything seed terribly silent.

Du Wei walked to the door and placed his hand on it.

He pushed with force.

But there was no response.

The door seed to be locked from the inside.

This…

“This is different from before…” Du Wei said.

Du Wei then pushed harder, but the door remained immovable, not even making a slight sound.

Generally speaking,

when soone pushes a door, it should at least tremble under the force.

But no matter how hard Du Wei pushed, there was no feedback whatsoever.

It was as if he was pushing against a wall.

Suddenly,

Du Wei’s pupils shrank, his ears filled with a piercing buzzing sound.

His heartbeat sped up to an extre.

His blood boiled.

In the state of Spirit Vision,

he witnessed an exceedingly strange scene.

The image of death from the Antique Clock appeared once again.

Du Wei saw himself in the image, standing in front of the door, pushing hard, but behind the door was pitch darkness, pairs of eyes coldly watching him.

The image froze there.

A door seed to have beco the boundary.

To push the door open would an confronting the eerie presence behind it.

This puzzled Du Wei greatly.

Every death image that featured him as the protagonist always revolved around his own death.

So why was this one different?

The death image only indicated that there was sothing behind the door.

He could very well choose not to push it and find another way around.

But just then,

the frozen image moved again.

The Du Wei in the image seed to sense sothing, pushing the door incessantly, his body continuously bleeding out. He pulled out the Flintlock Gun and pulled the trigger at the door.

But before he could finish, he fell into a pool of blood.

The death image ended there.

At the sa ti.

Whispering voices suddenly erged by Du Wei’s ear.

A creeping chill climbed up his spine.

Accompanying it was a sticky, damp sensation.

What his nose could detect was a faint scent of blood.

The surrounding light completely disappeared in an instant, replaced by darkness so thick he couldn’t see his own hand in front of him.

The presence that had almost killed Du Wei inexplicably before had appeared again.

Du Wei’s expression was extrely grim.

He looked at the blood seeping ceaselessly from his body, the situation was extrely dire.

“What in the world is this thing…” Du Wei said.

He took out the Flintlock Gun and fired a shot into the darkness.

To his surprise,

the shot actually worked.

The tangible darkness dissipated sowhat.

But it was soon filled back in.

“No, the Flintlock Gun worked, is it an Evil Spirit?”

Du Wei was stunned, and he imdiately took out a lighter and pressed it.

The red fla lit up the area in front of him.

About one ter or so.

For a mont,

Du Wei saw a scene that he couldn’t comprehend.

On the ground erged so illusionary tentacles, which retracted back into the darkness as soon as they appeared.

It was that tall and slender ghostly apparition.

In the state of Spirit Vision, Du Wei followed those illusionary tentacles, locking onto a certain spot in the darkness, and then he saw a tall figure that was almost indistinguishable.

The tall and slender ghost stood in this patch of darkness.

But there was sothing off about it, as if it was being controlled by so presence, causing a malfunction in the chanism.

Otherwise, it would confront the shadowy figure as soon as it showed up.

And moreover, the shadow showed no reaction at all.

It was as if the tall and slender ghost no longer existed.

An idea suddenly surged in Du Wei’s mind: “It’s the Horror House…”
