On a sunny noon, Lin Banxia was lazily lying on the bed. Lately, she had been feeling particularly sleepy, always feeling like she never got enough sleep and was very tired.
The phone rang, Lin Banxia reached for it and, just one glance at the screen startled half of her sleepiness away.
It was Mrs. Huo calling her again.
Sigh!
Lin Banxia hesitated, then answered the phone. On the other end, Mrs. Huo’s tone was much gentler than usual.
"Hello, Mrs. Huo, is there sothing you need?"
"Lin Banxia, are you still sleeping?"
"Uh..." How did the old lady know she was sleeping?
"What ti is it now and you’re still sleeping? How lazy can you be." Instantly, the tone of a scolding elder was present in her reprimand.
Lin Banxia was puzzled by the scolding, wondering whom her sleeping bothered.
"I expect you at the Huo manor within an hour to et . I have sothing very important to tell you!" With that, the old lady hung up the phone imdiately.
Lin Banxia, not even having the chance to say much, was left with the sound of the dial tone.
To et her again?
This ti, could it be like last ti, where she was called to be beaten up?
However, Lin Banxia felt the old lady wasn’t that barbaric, and besides, the won who beat her last ti were harshly dealt with by Huo Yanting. Surely, no one would dare harm her now.
Lin Banxia wearily got up, thinking it over, she decided to give Huo Yanting a call.
"Your grandma has called to et her again, do you know what she wants from ?" Lin Banxia asked with a helpless chuckle.
Huo Yanting chuckled softly on the other end: "Don’t worry, it’s definitely not sothing bad. It’s good for you to et her. Promise , this ti, don’t confront her, okay?"
"What if she scolds ? Can I scold her back?"
"You can!"
"What if she hits ?"
"That won’t happen, my grandma isn’t that violent!" Huo Yanting found chatting with this woman to be a delightful way to relax.
"Let’s hope not. I’m going to see her now, but if she really troubles , you have to co rescue !" Lin Banxia still felt uneasy.
Huo Yanting imdiately laughed: "Don’t worry, just call , and I’ll rush over to save you."
Hearing the man’s warm words, Lin Banxia finally let down her guard and decided to et the old lady.
Lin Banxia picked out a decent outfit and got ready to leave.
At ho, aside from the servants, she was the only one present, so there was no need to check in with anyone.
Driving, Lin Banxia headed straight for Huo Family Manor.
Though still feeling a strong reaction, it didn’t affect her actions.
Arriving at the entrance of the Huo manor, Lin Banxia took a deep breath and stepped in.
She first looked around, noticing that today, the large crowd of won was not present.
"Stop looking, just co in!" The old lady was sitting on the sofa in the hall, and seeing her wary appearance, couldn’t help but laugh at her expression.
Only then did Lin Banxia cautiously approach her: "Mrs. Huo, what do you want from ?"
"Sit down and we’ll talk!" Mrs. Huo gestured to a nearby chair with her chin.
Lin Banxia carefully sat down, her beautiful eyes still observing the old lady’s expression.
She was genuinely afraid of this matriarch.
"Mrs. Lin, bring her a cup of tea..."
"I don’t drink tea, just give a cup of plain water!" Lin Banxia knew she should avoid drinking tea now.
The old lady didn’t get upset at her words, rely adjusted her coat, and the living room fell into silence.
Amidst the awkwardness...
Lin Banxia’s heart almost skipped in confusion, unable to fathom the old lady’s thoughts, which only added to her anxiety and nervousness.
