Cheng Roning, upon hearing her daughter’s words, was both surprised and delighted. She quickly ca over and grabbed her hand: "Banxia, you’re pregnant? When did this happen? The child is Yanting’s, right!"
Lin Banxia felt a little embarrassed by the barrage of questions from her mom: "Mom, of course, it’s his child. Whose else could it be? I found out during my hospital checkup last ti. I was planning to keep it a secret for a while, so I said it was a stomach issue."
"You little rascal, keeping things from your mom, huh? Look at you—you’re pale from all the vomiting." Cheng Roning imdiately scolded her, feeling she shouldn’t have concealed it.
"Mom, I didn’t do it on purpose. I was just worried Chu Tingting might retaliate against during this ti. I can’t let her know I’m pregnant. If she truly loses her mind and does sothing to hurt or the baby, wouldn’t that be awful?" Lin Banxia hurried to explain her reasoning.
After listening, Cheng Roning expressed her understanding but still looked concerned: "I don’t believe Tingting would do anything truly heinous, but your big brother says she might. No matter what, we still need to be cautious around her. Rest assured, Mom won’t reveal your pregnancy."
"Thank you, Mom!" Lin Banxia imdiately broke into a joyful smile.
Cheng Roning’s face lit up with affection as she looked at her: "Banxia, you’re carrying the Huo Family’s blood. They must marry you as soon as possible. We can’t let the baby be born without a proper status."
"I know!" Lin Banxia lowered her head, feeling a little downcast. "Mom, Yan Ting is already working hard to convince his grandparents. I don’t want to pressure him anymore."
Cheng Roning noticed how much her daughter trusted Yan Ting. Perhaps he truly was a man worth relying on.
"Does he know about the baby? What did he say?"
"He knows. He said he wants to get remarried with as soon as possible!" Lin Banxia smiled faintly.
Cheng Roning sighed: "Who knows what the Huo family’s elders are planning? But I heard Mrs. Huo went to the Chu Family recently to propose canceling Tingting’s engagent. Seems like Tingting won’t have the chance to compete with you anymore. But I wonder if Mrs. Huo will arrange other girls to et Yan Ting. Banxia, was this baby an accident or are you certain you want to keep it?"
Lin Banxia’s heart grew heavier as she listened to her mom’s words. She bit her lip: "I’ve made up my mind to keep the baby."
"You’re so foolish!" Cheng Roning suddenly pulled her daughter into a tender embrace, her heart aching: "Just like when Mom decided to give birth to you."
Leaning on her mother’s shoulder, Lin Banxia suddenly felt like crying, but she couldn’t. She was afraid it would make her mom even sadder.
"Mom, history doesn’t have to repeat itself. I believe Yan Ting will marry . Can you trust him too? Please don’t worry so much about !" Lin Banxia gently comforted her mother, feeling her mom’s pain exceeded her own.
Cheng Roning held back her tears and nodded: "Alright, Mom trusts you. You have good judgnt."
"Okay, then let’s go downstairs to eat." Lin Banxia smiled. Her judgnt had been poor in the past, but after painful lessons, it had improved.
"Mom, can you keep this from my brother and sister for now? I don’t want too many people to know yet." Lin Banxia softly pleaded with her mother.
Understanding her daughter’s concerns, Cheng Roning naturally considered her feelings: "Don’t worry, Mom won’t say a word!"
The two of them went downstairs. Mu Jiyang was out for a social engagent, and ng Jiahui asked with great concern: "Sister, are you feeling better? Are you still throwing up?"
Lin Banxia smiled and shook her head: "No, I’m fine now."
Cheng Roning imdiately moved so lighter dishes in front of her: "Banxia, you need to eat more now! You’re too thin!"
"Okay, thank you, Mom!" Lin Banxia’s eyes reddened slightly. So this is what it’s like to have a real mom—it feels so warm.
