Yan Ting looked at the tears swirling in her eyes and knew just how aggrieved she felt at this mont.
He gently rubbed her shoulder a few tis. "I’ll have Qi Han take you ho. Leave this to !"
"Alright!" Lin Banxia didn’t want to wait for Huo Qinglin to wake up anyway. Truthfully, she had nothing to say to him.
Although he had saved her life, she considered this a debt he owed her. Now that she had brought him to the hospital and the doctors had confird his injuries weren’t life-threatening, she could finally breathe a little easier.
Shortly after Lin Banxia left, Huo Qinglin, who had just regained consciousness from the anesthesia, opened his eyes.
But the first thing he saw wasn’t Lin Banxia’s concerned expression—it was a face cold and grim.
"Big brother...?" Huo Qinglin’s disappointnt was written all over his face.
"How are you? Do you need to call the doctor to check on you again?" Yan Ting’s tone was equally indifferent.
Huo Qinglin gently touched his bandaged wound, not daring to use much force. Lightly pressing on it imdiately sent pain coursing through him, making his entire face scrunch up. "Those bastards dared to throw rocks! Luckily, I rushed over in ti. Otherwise, Lin Banxia wouldn’t even be alive right now!"
"Why were you looking for her? What were you trying to do?" Yan Ting’s eyes narrowed slightly.
A trace of irritation flickered across Huo Qinglin’s face. His thin lips twisted as he said, "Fine, I’ll tell you the truth. I saw those rumors being stirred up online, so I thought I’d go and comfort her. But I hadn’t expected to get hit and knocked out as soon as I arrived! By the way, where is she? I rember she was the one who brought to the hospital."
"I told her to go ho!"
"Hey, big brother, how could you do this to ? I split my head open for her, and the least you could do is let her stay to take care of !" The mont Huo Qinglin found out his big brother had made the unilateral decision to send Lin Banxia away, his face imdiately hardened.
"She asked to stay and take care of you. If you need anything, just let know. Or... should I inform our grandparents about your injury?"
"Don’t... I won’t argue about you chasing Lin Banxia off, but you absolutely can’t let our grandparents know I got hurt," Huo Qinglin said hurriedly. Right now, he and Yan Ting were both afraid of the sa thing—that anything related to Lin Banxia would reach the ears of their elders, which would undoubtedly lead to consequences neither of them wanted to face.
Yan Ting let out a mocking laugh. "So you do realize now there’s so sacrifice involved in doing sothing for her? No progress in your other abilities, but you seem to be getting awfully extravagant when it cos to chasing won."
"Big brother, do you think making snide remarks like that is funny? I was worried she might get hurt—it’s not like I’m trying to win her sympathy or anything." Huo Qinglin imdiately felt his dignity wounded, his sincere intentions twisted into so kind of ploy by Yan Ting’s words.
Yan Ting sneered. "Fine. Let’s assu you were doing it for her own good. But next ti, rember—don’t go looking for her unless there’s a legitimate reason."
"If I hadn’t gone to look for her this ti, she’d be the one lying here right now. And you’re still blaming ?" Huo Qinglin felt more aggrieved than ever.
Yan Ting had nothing to say to that—indeed, he owed him gratitude.
"I won’t let your suffering for her be in vain. I’ll sign off on the proposal you submitted earlier." Yan Ting’s expression was cold and distant.
Huo Qinglin’s eyes froze for a mont before he erupted with rage. "Of course. You’re the CEO now, but you’re clearly targeting on purpose. That proposal was sothing my team and I worked on day and night for half a month to finalize—you should’ve approved it long ago!"
