"I begged him to bring . He said you were already with Chu Tingting. I couldn’t accept it and wanted to see for myself. Please don’t bla him," Banxia whispered softly to him.
"You’re speaking up for him?" Yan Ting’s brows furrowed slightly, a trace of displeasure in his gaze.
He forcefully turned her petite body to face him. Even though there was no light, one could still sense the anger radiating from his presence.
"I just don’t want there to be misunderstandings between you two because of ," Banxia explained, her tone tinged with a hint of anxiousness.
"It’s likely already misunderstood. Wei Chen thinks that after I abandoned you, I still want to restrict your freedom. He cares about you a lot," Yan Ting mocked with a faint disdain.
"He’s just being a friend—"
"No, he’s fallen for you. I can tell. Banxia, I genuinely didn’t expect him to fall for you. Between you and him... did sothing happen?" Yan Ting’s voice turned slightly heavier.
Banxia bit her lip. "Actually, nothing happened between him and . That ti when I went to pick up your aunt, I accidentally knocked his phone off. Later, we crossed paths a few tis in the office. As for anything beyond that, there really isn’t anything."
"Just from eting you a few tis, he likes you? From what I know about him, he’s extraordinarily cautious with won. Are you hiding sothing from ?" Yan Ting persisted, unconvinced by her simple explanation.
Banxia also found the situation strange. She shook her head and said, "I really haven’t hidden anything from you. I’ve only seen him a few tis."
"I rember when you were on the yacht, after you got drunk, you called out his na. Shouldn’t you explain that to ?" Being so attuned to the woman he loved, Yan Ting naturally picked up on anything concerning her.
Banxia’s mind went blank. What? Yan Ting’s mory was this sharp? He even dredged up that incident to confront her?
Sigh, she regretted drinking so much that night. Now, how was she supposed to cover up this lie?
"Fine, while I don’t rember whether I said his na or not, I can clearly tell you now—I have no feelings for him. My heart belongs solely to you," Banxia said earnestly, her face resolute.

Banxia’s expression faltered, overwheld. In the end, she could only nod reluctantly. "Yes, but that was in the past—"
"The man you once secretly loved is now pursuing you. Are you honestly not moved in the slightest?" Yan Ting narrowed his eyes, the gleam in them unsettling.
Banxia felt she was going to lose her mind under his relentless questioning.
There was no way she could tell him the truth, so she had to improvise.
"Honestly, I never thought he’d like . That was all so long ago. Can you believe ? I have no feelings for him anymore," she said, trying her best to sound convincing.
"From now on, you’re not to see him again!" The man abruptly cupped her chin and seized her lips with his possessive kiss. "If you stay away from him, I’ll believe you."
Banxia knew deep down that Yan Ting was inherently a domineering, distrustful man. Dizzy from his kiss, she nodded dazedly. "Fine, I won’t see him anymore. But what about you?"

"Exactly. Aren’t you going to keep seeing Chu Tingting? Don’t you think you owe so reassurance? I don’t want to pour my feelings out only to be let down," Banxia said, adding her own request upon agreeing to his demand.
