Why has Brother Weichen beco so cold toward her? He wasn’t like this before.
He used to be so gentle and refined, his words always carrying a sense of warmth. But this ti, after returning to the country, it was like he had beco a completely different person. Just now, he even reprimanded her in front of so many people. Her heart instantly turned ice-cold, and a layer of tears quickly gathered in Huo Anya’s eyes.
"It’s all your fault..." Huo Anya’s heart burned with anger. She turned her head and pointed at Lin Banxia, yelling in rage, "If it weren’t for eting you, would I have lost my temper? If Brother Weichen dislikes because of this, I won’t let you off!"
Lin Banxia listened to her baseless accusations and sneered, "Who would’ve thought that the great Huo Family’s eldest daughter could be so shaless? You’re the one who started yelling at , and now you’re turning around and blaming for it? Everyone here saw what happened. You should take a good look at yourself and figure out why President Leng treats you so coldly."
"Don’t get cocky here! Even if Brother Weichen doesn’t see as important, there’s no way he would look at you. You’re nothing but secondhand goods that people are tired of playing with—you’re a discarded shoe! Brother Weichen despises filth the most; I bet he wouldn’t even glance at you." Huo Anya was truly furious now. She had forgotten all about maintaining her image as a cultured socialite and just wanted to hurl the harshest words she could at Lin Banxia, as if only by doing so could she vent the fire in her heart.
Lin Banxia listened to her harsh words, her face instantly paling. Even though she knew Huo Anya was being irrational and intentionally provocative, it was still hard not to feel hurt and angry after being insulted so badly.
But she was at work now and didn’t want to stir up any more trouble. After all, she’d probably already angered Leng Weichen earlier. Whether she could keep her job was still uncertain.
Lin Banxia chose to ignore her and let Huo Anya vent her frustrations alone. Eventually, Huo Anya grew tired of yelling, shot Lin Banxia a hateful glare as a warning, and then arrogantly drove off in her sports car.
Yet, once Huo Anya left, Lin Banxia found herself in an even more awkward situation.
Thanks to Huo Anya’s mocking remarks, everyone now knew that she was the infamous "discarded wife" of the Huo Family, who had been rcilessly scorned online just a while ago.
"Lin Banxia, you really were married to the eldest heir of the Huo Family? Wow, that’s sothing to envy! When he dumped you, how much did you get in your breakup settlent? Did you get a sum like this?" One woman couldn’t resist her gossipy curiosity and hurried over to interrogate her, eagerly holding up ten fingers to imply a number.
The other won also seed unusually interested, waiting for Lin Banxia’s response.
Lin Banxia felt torn between laughter and helplessness. It appeared that having ties with a powerful family ant being subject to scrutiny and disdain wherever she went.
If the marriage had been blissful and stable, she might have managed to receive so half-hearted blessings from people.
But her current situation was the worst—a woman who had been publicly discarded by a wealthy man, soone everyone knew was "played out and unwanted." It was impossible to escape ridicule, and people would always find subtle ways to poke at her pain.
"You should stop gossiping about my business and focus on work. Otherwise, you’ll end up angering the boss again and risk losing your jobs because of it." Lin Banxia had no intention of answering their questions. She was secretly dating Huo Yanting now and hadn’t truly been cast aside. Far from feeling pitiful or tragic, she had no need for their concern or sympathy.
Upon hearing the ntion of work, everyone imdiately snapped back to a more serious deanor.
