"It’s none of your business anyway. Leave. Weren’t you saying you wanted a break?" Yan Ting didn’t want Gu Qianxi to see him make a fool of himself.
Not even able to keep a woman—Yan Ting’s noble pride felt hard to maintain.
Gu Qianxi, however, wore a nosy expression, pestering him relentlessly. "Yan Ting, do you even consider a friend? How could I not care about your matters? Co on, spill it. What exactly happened?"
"I’m divorcing her!" Yan Ting didn’t conceal it any longer and took the initiative to speak.
"What?" Gu Qianxi had learned about Yan Ting’s secret marriage to Lin Banxia when they’d last t for drinks. Now hearing about the divorce, his face was filled with shock and disbelief. "You’re divorcing? But I rember you two only got married not long ago. Why so soon?"
"It’s all my fault. I did sothing that betrayed him." Lin Banxia spoke softly, as though trying to protect sothing.
Gu Qianxi was stunned again, looking incredulously at Lin Banxia, who had her head bowed low. "Miss Lin, are you serious? How dare you betray Yan Ting? Do you have any idea how many won are waiting to marry him? You’re simply soone who doesn’t know how good you have it."
Lin Banxia couldn’t reply. Indeed, everything was her own doing.
Yan Ting didn’t want Gu Qianxi to ask any further questions. He walked over and grabbed his arm directly. "Go back!"
"Hey, Yan Ting, I still have so unfinished questions to ask—"
"There’s no need to ask anymore!"
"I’m just concerned for you—"
"It’s unnecessary!"
Forcefully, Yan Ting pushed Gu Qianxi out of the hospital room and slamd the door shut after walking back inside.
The quiet hospital room felt suffocating, as though even the air had died.
Lin Banxia lay motionless on the bed, her head heavy and spinning, unable to shake the mory of the brute force he’d used on her.
"Divorce , and are you planning to go find Leng Weichen?" The man, silent for a long ti, finally asked in cold anger.
"No." Lin Banxia, though sick, answered with complete clarity.
"Then why do you still want to divorce ?" The man frowned.
"Because I promised your grandfather I’d leave you—leave the Huo Family far behind." Lin Banxia sighed softly.
"Ha!" The man sneered sarcastically.
Lin Banxia pressed her lips together, unwilling to say more. She knew Yan Ting must be extrely angry.
She didn’t dare provoke him further.
"Mark my words: apart from , no man will ever dare marry you again. If you insist on divorcing , you better be prepared to spend the rest of your life as an unmarried woman."
Who was Yan Ting?
He was the future ruler of the business world—cold, commanding, and domineering, traits ingrained into his very being. For this woman to dare trample on his genuine affection, to cruelly abandon the marriage he had built with care, he would make her taste the most despairing consequences.
Under the covers, Lin Banxia’s small fra trembled faintly, uncontrollably.
"Even without you saying that, I might not marry again in this lifeti." Lin Banxia let out a self-mocking laugh, appearing utterly indifferent.
Yan Ting had thought his words would intimidate her, that she’d recant, and plead with him not to go through with the divorce.
But the woman’s voice, icy and more indifferent than his own, rendered his expression darker and more ominous.
Was she serious? At the tender age of twenty-one, she was already certain she wouldn’t marry again for life?
Or was she just humoring him?
If she dared to, he would ensure she regretted it for the rest of her life.
