Yan Ting was filled with hatred toward her, yet when he looked at her frail and sickly appearance, his movents, unconsciously, grew gentler.
He carried her out of the warm water, dried her off, and even personally found a set of clothes to help her change into.
But... won’s clothing truly is troubleso.
Yan Ting, the distinguished heir, found this task rather challenging. It took him so effort to finish dressing her, and by then, Yan Ting was already sweating profusely.
He carried her, still unconscious, downstairs.
The driver had already received the call and was waiting at the entrance to the hall.
"Young Master, what happened to Miss Lin?"
"She’s ill!" Yan Ting threw out those two words before hurriedly carrying her into the car.
A fleet of cars sped through the rainy night, heading straight for the hospital.
Late at night, Gu Qianxi received an urgent call from Yan Ting. He reluctantly drove to the hospital.
Upon entering the ward, Gu Qianxi began complaining, "Mr. Huo, you neglect sleep, but I need to rest, okay? I’m not made of iron. Who’s sick here?"
"Take a look at her condition!" Yan Ting, his handso face tense, pointed at the unconscious Lin Banxia lying in the bed.
Gu Qianxi frowned, asked him a few questions, and then checked her temperature with a thermoter. "38.5 degrees Celsius— a high fever, she has a cold!"
Yan Ting’s expression darkened even further.
Gu Qianxi furrowed his brow and teased, "Burning this hot, why did you only bring her in now?"
"None of your business! Just focus on giving her an injection and dicine." Of course, Yan Ting couldn’t tell his friend that just ten minutes ago, he had been... active with this woman.
"Let guess, did you... just finish with her and only then realize she had a fever? Otherwise, how could soone pass out just because of a cold and fever?" You had to hand it to him— being a lifelong mischievous friend, Gu Qianxi’s guess turned out to be spot on.
Yan Ting’s handso face was suddenly flushed with embarrassnt and anger. He snapped back, "Your job as a doctor is to save lives, not to ddle in unnecessary matters!"
"Alright, alright, I won’t say more!" Gu Qianxi replied, exaggerating a hurt expression.
In a daze, Lin Banxia was given fever dicine and an IV drip. Slowly, she regained consciousness, though she was still groggy.
By now, it was already past 3 a.m. She caught another whiff of the disinfectant sll. She was in the hospital?
Lin Banxia stiffly turned her head and spotted a tall, cold silhouette standing by the window.
"Yan Ting..." Lin Banxia called his na.
The man turned around expressionlessly and locked eyes with her. In his somber gaze, there wasn’t the faintest hint of emotion.
"What happened to ?" she asked, bewildered.
The last mory she had was being tornted half to death in bed. Yet now, she was in the hospital, her arm hooked up to an IV drip.
"Miss Lin Banxia, you caught a cold and fever. Did you not realize?" A clear male voice cut in from the other side.
Only then did Lin Banxia notice there was soone else in the ward— Gu Qianxi. He was clad in a white coat, leaning tiredly against the sofa. It looked like he had just napped and woken up. He was rubbing his long, charming eyes with a yawn-filled expression.
"So I’m sick..." Lin Banxia replied belatedly.
Gu Qianxi stood up, stretched lazily, and spoke to Yan Ting, "Your woman’s awake. Can I go ho and rest now?"
"Thank you for your trouble!" Yan Ting, who had been ice-cold the whole ti, finally uttered a considerate word.
Gu Qianxi narrowed his eyes, studying both their expressions closely. With a tone as if he had made a major discovery, he said, "Wait a second, your expressions seem a little off. Did sothing happen here?"
