"Alright, then can you tell why you want to cooperate in this charade? Am I getting anything out of this?" Lin Banxia wasn't stupid. If she was being used without getting any benefits, she wouldn't go along with it.
Gu Qianxi shrugged lightly and said, "If you want benefits, you'll have to ask Yan Ting. I'm just helping him out."
Lin Banxia had nothing to say. Of course, she needed to confront Yan Ting. If he wanted her to collaborate, she had to secure a fair reward.
Lin Banxia followed Gu Qianxi to the hospital. As soon as they got out of the car, Gu Qianxi pushed a wheelchair in front of her, pressed her down into it, then wrapped her left leg with gauze, and sohow produced a plaster cast to slide onto her calf.
His practiced movents made Lin Banxia doubt whether he had extensive experience in setting people up.
She overheard passing nurses and doctors respectfully addressing him as Dean Gu.

Why were these people looking at her like that? It felt like they were assuming so improper relationship between her and Gu Qianxi.
Gu Qianxi pushed her into an upscale hospital room and then pointed at the hospital bed. "Climb up yourself."

"Now, inform your family and friends to co visit you. Put on a sad expression—it's crucial; otherwise, the act won't hold up." Gu Qianxi casually instructed her.
"Oh, when can I et Yan Ting? Do you have his number? Could you give it to ? I need to contact him urgently."
Negotiating the terms, of course, was an urgent matter.
"Sorry, Miss Lin. Yan Ting's my brother, and yes, I have his number, but I can't share it with you."
"Why not? I'm already helping him with this act." Lin Banxia hadn't expected that getting a single phone number would be this difficult.
"No reason. Just that you're a woman, and Yan Ting hates being pestered by won."
Lin Banxia finally understood what he ant. Did he think she'd harass Yan Ting if she got his number?
"Ha, you're overthinking it. I have zero interest in Yan Ting. I need to find him to discuss the compensation." Lin Banxia quickly clarified, worried that this young dean might see her as so opportunistic woman.
"When he wants to see you, he'll co find you. Don't worry. Making a deal with Yan Ting won't leave you shortchanged," Gu Qianxi said with full confidence.
Who would believe him? She knew perfectly well what kind of person Yan Ting was.
In her previous life, she learned that he was nothing short of a monster—anyone who made deals with him ca out worse for it.
"Dean Gu, could I trouble you to pass along a ssage to him? Ask him to co see soon—I have urgent matters to discuss." Since she couldn't get his number, she had to rely on Gu Qianxi.
Gu Qianxi nodded. "Since you're the first woman Yan Ting introduced to, I can help with this small favor."
"Thank you so much, Dean Gu," Lin Banxia said gratefully.
"Alright, stay here and rest for now. If you need anything, you can ask the nurses."
"Got it!" Lin Banxia nodded.
After Gu Qianxi left, Lin Banxia took out her phone and started dialing her father, informing him of her injury at the Huo Family's residence.
"Banxia, how could you be so careless? How do you get injured even at the Huo Family's?" her father said with a tone of reproach, which left Lin Banxia feeling cold.
"It wasn't my carelessness. Qing Lin's sister pushed , and I fell and got hurt," Lin Banxia explained.
"Why would she push you? You must've said sothing inappropriate and offended her."
Lin Banxia was practically livid. In the past, her ek personality had made her everybody's target for bullying.
She was utterly fed up.
