Chapter 377: Slaughter Tavern
Due to its relationship with the Hollow Ancestor, the City Lord’s Mansion enjoyed a transcendent status and was the most difficult organization to join.
If one wished to become a member, they had to sign a stringent Devil Contract, swearing eternal loyalty to the Hollow Ancestor and effectively becoming his subordinates for the rest of their lives.
Among the other three major organizations, the Destruction Cult and the Primordial Sin Temple were far easier to become a member of.
The Destruction Cult believed that destruction was the inevitable end of all things and thus sought to hasten the process.
As long as one wreaked havoc in the Demon World and other worlds, they would obtain the qualifications to join it.
As for the Primordial Sin Temple, the requirements for joining were more normal.
All it took was for one to complete the mission assigned to them, while showing their extraordinary characteristics.
"The easiest among the four major organizations to become a member of is the Slaughter Tavern. Unlike what its name would suggest, the Slaughter Tavern is not a tavern, but a ’guild’ for Devils."
"In the tavern, one can choose to accept missions and complete them to earn rewards. Unlike the other three major organizations, the Slaughter Tavern does not have any requirements for its members."
"It doesn’t even limit its members from joining other forces. Many Devils are members of both the Slaughter Tavern and other organizations."
The information she had purchased from the Astral Pavilion couldn’t help but resurface in Liora’s mind, and she confirmed their truth based on the words of the short Devil guide.
Staring at the crimson building in front of her and sensing the faint murderous intent and bloody smell in the air, she understood that she had arrived at the right place.
Raising her hand, she couldn’t help but subconsciously touch the silver mask hiding her face.
Besides concealing her appearance, the silver mask did not have any other functions. In fact, the mask could barely hide one’s identity.
At most, it could put an extra layer of concealment on top of her.
Of course, Liora was not expecting to hide her identity for long. The silver mask was only there to deal with some unexpected trouble.
After ensuring that the silver mask was still there, Liora raised her head and stepped into the building.
Immediately, the sound of loud chatter and people drinking echoed in her ears.
The building looked big from the outside, but once one entered it, they would discover that it was even larger than it looked.
Thousands of grotesque-looking Devils were scattered on tables throughout the tavern.
Some of them concealed their appearance like Liora, seemingly wanting to hide their identities, while others did nothing of that sort, as if they were confident in their own strength.
As soon as Liora walked into the building, she sensed several gazes land on her.
Demonic energy flared up, and an overwhelming oppression came in her direction. Clearly, some Devils in the tavern were trying to test her, attempting to estimate her strength.
Feeling the auras pressing on her, Liora did not even look at these people.
Without her footsteps stopping, she let out a cold snort, and her aura also spread, colliding with those of the people who were trying to investigate her.
Several muffled groans echoed in the tavern.
The weakest of the Devils were injured and had blood dripping out of their mouths, while even the bodies of some Greater Devils trembled, seemingly affected by the confrontation.
Sensing their fearful gazes and feeling the inquiring gazes disappear, Liora did not press any further.
She restrained her aura and, as if nothing had happened, approached the counter.
No one dared to block her way.
Even those who had previously stood silent had witnessed what had taken place. In their minds, Liora was not someone to be trifled with.
Even if some of them were confident of defeating her, there was no reason to make an enemy for no reason.
With that in mind, Liora faced no obstruction. She soon reached the counter and took her seat on a nearby stool.
After ordering a drink and having it delivered to her, she glanced at the bartender and stated her purpose of coming here.
"I want to join the Slaughter Tavern.
