Speaking of the empress, Li ili had no idea that her best friend and Feng Tianyi had also co to Beijing to watch the event and to show their support. Feng Tianyi had managed to secure an invitation for him and his wife, and was able to keep their attendance a secret from the dia sources.
"Are you sure you don't want Li ili to know yet that we are here?" Feng Tianyi asked. Tang Moyu had cleared up their schedule for the whole week, just to show her support here for her best friend.
"I know ili. I'm sure she would feel pressured if she knew I am here," Tang Moyu said in return as she and her husband took their seats at the VIP lounge which gave them a good view of the stage. She could also see her best friend seated next to her twin brother near the stage.
'Silly, girl. How can I leave you on your own at a ti like this?' the empress thought as she rembered her last conversation over the phone with Li ili before she flew with Zhang Jiren here in Beijing yesterday. Li ili had assured her that she would be fine, whether she won or not tonight, but Tang Moyu knew better.
This competition was important to Li ili whether she admitted it or not. Not only were her dreams at stake here, but also her promise to Tang Beixuan before he passed away.
Tang Moyu and Feng Tianyi had arrived before Li ili and Zhang Jiren, so they were able to pick up so rumors about this year's competition. Just like what Tang Moyu had expected, the Black Nightingale was considered the 'Dark Horse' by everyone.
Before the event officially started, Feng Tianyi had watched the scene in boredom. The guests mingled with each other to chat or exchange greetings. However, he knew that underneath those actions, people were just truly subtly bragging about themselves to each other. He couldn't understand what people found exciting and amusing about it, or perhaps, he never understood the need to show off his wealth like the other attendees tonight.
"Don't doze off here or I will kick you," Tang Moyu warned him, knowing that he was about to shut his eyes while waiting for Li ili's entry to be shown.
Feng Tianyi humd, knowing that his wife wasn't joking this ti. His mind then drifted over the fact that he would spend this whole weekend with his wife alone. Just the thought was enough to make him grin in excitent.
Since Little Star didn't abhor the idea of being a big sister anymore, he and Tang Moyu now had a go signal to have another bun to add to their family. So, how could he waste this rare opportunity to have his wife to himself without worrying about being disturbed by their twins who were left at ho with Song Fengyan and Lan Yunru?
"What are you thinking about?" he heard his wife ask with Tang Moyu narrowing her eyes in suspicion.
How could she not sense the sudden change in Feng Tianyi's expression? The mischievous glint in his eyes was so similar to their twins' that it was a giveaway for Tang Moyu to know that he was up for no good.
"Nothing." Feng Tianyi shook his head in defense. "I'm just wondering what kind of drama we're about to witness tonight."
Of course, the news of Xing Yiyue being here had reached his ears. He had eyes and ears everywhere, so it wouldn't be hard for him not to know what his ex-sister-in-law was up to. The fact that she managed to force her way and convince Liu Ruoyan to give her a chance to take the runway for publicity was a surprise, considering Feng Tianyi knew that Xing Yiyue had already hit rock bottom.
His half-brother was really ruthless when it ca to his won, Feng Tianyi thought. Feng Tianhua didn't have an inch of sha. Not only did he humiliate Tang Moyu in the past and tried to blacklist her in the business circle, but he also didn't mind fooling Xing Yiyue that they were legally married.
That bastard was really shaless to push the bla to others, when in fact, he was the one who used and wronged these won in the first place.
"She's really shaless to co here," Tang Moyu said when she spotted Xing Yiyue coming out from the backstage to present Liu Ruoyan's work. Although Feng Tianyi had already warned her of the possibility of Xing Yiyue's appearance here, she still couldn't believe that the woman still managed to find a way to try to redeem herself.
Or could she? Tang Moyu thought.
Xing Yiyue had managed to charm everyone by her dashing looks. Tang Moyu had to admit, though, that this flower vase really knew how to make herself look good in front of everyone. It was just too bad that Liang Ling was too ambitious to get what she wanted, not caring about whose foot she would step on just to get it.
"Hmm… I see. She still could make herself popular in her own way," Feng Tianyi comnted. "Then why the hell did she have to rely on my stupid little brother for so long if she could be like this?"
"Because it's easier for her to leech off Feng Tianhua than to work hard to get what she wants. Why would she waste ti like the others when she could just wait for the projects to willingly fall in her hands?" Tang Moyu scoffed before taking a sip from her wine glass.
"Most people want the easiest way out. What they don't know is that it isn't always a good choice," Her husband agreed with her. "I guess you can say it's a part of human nature to be greedy."
"What a wise word coming from you, my love." Tang Moyu smirked at him. "I hope you've already finished your manuscript before coming here. I don't like to be bothered by Uncle Yang for it you know."
Feng Tianyi g.r.o.a.n.e.d after being reminded of it. There was a book that had been long overdue which was left in a corner for years. He finally found the will to finish it. However, compared to his previous works, it was harder for him to accomplish.
