Once they were done with their dinner, Tang Moyu accompanied Feng Tianyi to go down to the main lobby of the hotel, as he intended to take the keys for the suit he had reserved for the two of them.
As they went down, Feng Tianyi was holding her hand and they were the only ones in the elevator. From the glass wall behind them, Tang Moyu could see that the whole city was already succ.u.mbing to the darkness of the night, but its citizens remained as active as always.
Half way down, the elevator ca into a stop and a woman with a child stepped inside, joining them. It was at that mont that Tang Moyu released his hand, much to his disappointnt.
Why was she so bothered about being seen in public with him, but not with Yun Zhen? He was her boyfriend, and yet he wasn't allowed to hold her hand in public? This was ridiculous!
Beside him, the empress was oblivious to his inner turmoil. Tang Moyu had been thinking of giving their little buns a call, wondering if they were still awake at this ti. Thinking about it, was Lady Song aware that those two little buns were her grandbabies?
She hadn't asked or discussed this with Feng Tianyi, and she wasn't sure how Lady Song would take the news, just in case he hadn't told his mother yet.
Perhaps, the older woman hadn't known deep down that Xiao Bao and Little Star were her son's children.
"Say, Tianyi." She whispered next to him, taking his attention.
"Hmm?"
"Does your mother know?" She asked him seriously. "Have you told her about Baobao and Little Star?"
Feng Tianyi waited until the mother and child alighted the elevator, leaving him with only Tang Moyu's company again.
"Don't get mad at her, Moyu. In fact, Mother was the first one who found out about it. Rember the first ti I took Baobao with and Fengyan?"
When she nodded at his question, he continued.
"Mother had suspected that he was mine the mont she saw him, but since I vehently disagreed with her assumptions, I think she took the initiative to find the answers she wanted."
Feng Tianyi wasn't sure how she would react over his mother's action, but he hoped that Tang Moyu would at least try to understand why his mother did whatever she needed to do to confirm his relationship with Xiao Bao.
Tang Moyu had been a great partner for him so far. If it had been another woman, Feng Tianyi would not doubt that she would have snapped at him and blad him for everything. He couldn't ask for a better partner than her, and was sure as hell that he wouldn't let her go.
"And she was able to confirm it, how?"
It would make sense to her why Lady Song had been spoiling the two rotten if she had known the truth between Feng Tianyi and her twins… their twins.
"I'm afraid that Mother hasn't told how she was able to confirm it." Feng Tianyi answered with a sigh. It was surprising how his mother had been right all along when he had refused to believe her suspicion.
Was it really obvious that the boy was his? Feng Tianyi hadn't believed his mother and Fengyan when they ntioned his resemblance to his young son.
"Anyway, since she already knows, rest assured that Mother has no problem with them. In fact, she has long accepted them as her grandbabies, even before we found out the truth. She said she didn't tell us about it because she doesn't want us to stay with each other for their sake. Mother wanted to make sure that we are sure about each other."?He explained.
Tang Moyu had no comnt on that. She couldn't really bla him or Lady Song. It was a?good thing that they accepted her little buns without any qualms, but it would be a different story on the Tang family's side.
Although her twin were bearing the surna of the Tangs, they weren't officially part of the family, nor were they considered as Tangs. Not that Tang Moyu minded. Her little buns didn't need anything from that backstabbing family.
Inheritance? What's that? Her twins were practically billionaires by today's standard. Their net worth might have far exceeded what the Tang family had at the mont. It wasn't Tang Moyu's fault or loss that they kicked her out of the family after her nasty rift with Feng Tianhua.
Even now, her relationship with the Tang family was irreparable. There was nothing else that could be done to nd their familial ties since they were the first one who burned the bridges between them.
"Aside from us, who else is aware of the truth? I ntioned it to ili and Yaoyao. They are my best friends and I trust them." She inford Feng Tianyi.
The devil didn't speak for a mont as he gave it a good thought. He didn't think other people outside their circle were aware of it. He only had Song Fengyan and He Lianchen by his side all this ti and they were the ones who sent the samples for the paternity test. Obviously, those two knew the truth.
"Mother knew before we did. Obviously, Fengyan and Lianchen are aware of it." He took her hand into his once more. "Don't worry, Moyu. You aren't alone anymore. We'll help you protect and take care of them from now on. I'm giving you my word." He promised her.
For five long years, Tang Moyu had endured and took in upon herself to look after the twins. He couldn't imagine the struggle the empress experienced and had to endure on her own. Feng Tianyi could only regret it.
Regardless if she had Li ili by her side, it wouldn't change the fact that as the father of their twins, Feng Tianyi had already failed them by not being able to be with them during the ti they needed him the most.
