The queen of dragons?

Luna opened her mouth, about to express her shock. However, after a long mont of trying to form a response, not a single word escaped her lips. The story shared by this woman nad Ciel Hesse was so outrageous that it defied everything Luna had ever known as common sense.

If… what Ciel said were true, then the very history of this continent might be nothing more than a false illusion, carefully constructed by soone.

Ciel continued speaking, not seeming to care whether Luna believed or understood her.

“I looked for the queen of dragons again and demanded the truth from her. I asked what she had done to Lilith, her own daughter. But… she only responded with indifference. Then, once again, she crushed under her feet like I was nothing more than a pest.”

“It was then that I realized her so-called ‘demigod realm’ was nothing but a lie—designed to deceive a naive child. That woman! She is nothing but lies and deception!”

“She doesn’t see Lilith as her daughter at all. To her, Lilith was just a tool to serve so hidden agenda! The proof is in that strange black fla surrounding Lilith. She must be trying to harness its power!”

Ciel Hesse’s long hair floated in the air, even though there was no wind, her expression contorted in fury that could burn through everything.

“But… every ti Lilith and I t over the years, she always wore a happy smile whenever she spoke of her mother. She would say that her mother was the kindest person in the world to her and that she was a great mother. She showed the clothes and jewels the queen had gifted her. When I saw those gifts and the joy shining through Lilith’s eyes, all I felt in return was a crushing sadness—for both Lilith and my own helplessness.”

“The one who forced Lilith to endure the endless pain of death, who erased her mories over and over, and then deceived her with a disgusting, false facade, was none other than her beloved… mother.”

“Yet I could only watch. I couldn’t do anything. And no matter what I did, I couldn’t replace the queen of dragons in Lilith’s heart…”

Ciel’s voice faltered, growing softer and softer until it trembled. Even as an outsider, Luna could sense the raw vulnerability in her words.

“So, you’re just going to give up?” Luna asked, her voice suddenly breaking the silence.

“Give up?”

Ciel turned her head back, her face still wet with trails of tears. However, Luna could still see the indomitable strength in her eyes.

“After all these years, do you think I’d give up?”

“Probably… not.”

How could a person who had been obsessed with a single goal for countless millennia simply give up?

“Yes, I’ll never give up.”

After saying that, Ciel Hesse turned to gaze at the countless displays of identical faces, as if looking at them could summon the beautiful monts in her mories, each one as dazzling and precious as pearls.

Two years—compared to a thousand years of waiting—were fleeting. But it was precisely because of this that she treasured those two years so much and craved them so deeply.

Even if she lost everything because of it, she wouldn’t mind.

“Then why didn’t you wake up on ti this ti?” Luna suddenly asked. “From what I know, Lilith should have been active for a long ti already. According to your story… she shouldn’t be far from… the end of her lifespan in this life.”

Ciel Hesse didn’t answer imdiately. Instead, she looked at Luna with a seemingly amused expression and asked, “Oh? For you to ask that question, you must have already started believing in , haven’t you?”

“Believing isn’t the right word… It’s just…” Luna lowered her head, concealing the expression on her face. “That kind of sadness— I don’t think it’s sothing that can be faked.”

“Heh, I’m not interested in acting in front of youngsters like you.”

“So, you really are the founding emperor of the Holy Dragon Empire? Our ancestor?” Luna suddenly raised her head, her eyes blazing.

“Heh, do you even have to ask that when you already know we both share the sa last na?” Ciel replied flatly.

“No… The idea that our ancestor is still alive after ten thousand years… is simply inconceivable.”

“Ha… Ten thousand years is nothing. To , it hasn’t been that long. I still rember the day when Lilith and I established the Holy Dragon Empire on impulse.”

“Wait… Lilith too?” Luna was now completely stunned.

“Yes, of course Lilith’s involved. Otherwise, do you think I’d do sothing this… random?”

Ciel Hesse gave Luna a disappointed look, as if to say, I didn’t expect my descendant to be so stupid.

“In your history… there is no ntion of Lilith, right? But in reality, the greatest factor in the founding of the Holy Dragon Empire was Lilith herself. Otherwise, do you really believe that the high and mighty dragons would develop a deep friendship with any human race and help guard a kingdom for ten thousand years? Don’t be foolish. Dragons may travel the world, but they rarely form emotional bonds. Their loyalty is only ever to their own kind. The reason Taylor has guarded the Holy Dragon Empire for ten thousand years isn’t because of any contract, but because of an order from Lilith herself back then.”

Ciel Hesse’s tone softened as she added, “Of course, Lilith is an exception. Her emotions… they just don’t seem like those of a typical dragon.”

“So… you’re telling that not only are you our ancestor, but Lilith counts as one too?!”

Luna was left in a whirlwind of confusion. If that was the case… then what had she been doing all this ti? How could she lust over her ancestor’s body?

“Correct. After all, the second emperor of the Holy Dragon Empire was born from the union of Lilith’s and my blood. That’s why all of you possess the dragon bloodline. And that’s also why you managed to retain your sanity and didn’t turn into a monster who lost all sense of self despite receiving Lilith’s pure blood.”

Ciel Hesse’s gaze bored into Luna, as though she could see through everything about her, including the fact that she had Lilith’s blood coursing in her body.

“T-T-That’s…!” Luna stamred, utterly dumbfounded. Her common sense had been challenged multiple tis today, and she no longer knew what expression to wear.

This situation was as outrageous as if her father had suddenly walked into her room and told her that the girl she had been chasing for ages, the one she was about to win over, wasn’t ant to be with her… because that girl was actually her long-lost mother!

What the hell? You must be kidding !

“Enough with the small talk,” Ciel Hesse interrupted. “Now, as to why I didn’t wake up earlier this ti…”

Her expression shifted back to seriousness. “The first reason is that as the owner of the dream world, I cannot simply remove myself from it at will.”

“The dream realm was created because I realized that even though Lilith’s mories were erased each ti she resurrected, the mories of her past lives never truly disappeared. Despite countless years passing, these mories were clearly still buried deep in her mind, as if soone was intentionally preserving them. I thought that if I could uncover these mories, perhaps I could find a way to reach her. So I constructed this dream realm using her mories.

“But I didn’t expect that, because of the gradual deepening of my yearning for Lilith, I would start to lose myself in my dreams, almost completely becoming the Tadashi in the mories. For that, I must thank you, my great-great-great-great-great-great-great-who-knows-how-many-generations-great-granddaughter. If it weren’t for you, I might have slept even longer—or perhaps never woken up at all.”

“Oh…” Luna responded weakly. She already felt as though her world had shattered around her and she no longer cared about her actual relationship with Ciel.

In any case, she was just so untalented great-great-great-great-great-great-great-who-knows-how-many-generations-great-granddaughter.
