She had seen him this eager before, but only for Fen Fen.
"Master, I am fine," she said, sweating. Her master was being unusually enthusiastic and friendly toward her, and she wasn’t used to it.
Ever since he had cleared up all misunderstandings with her, his attitude had taken a complete 180-degree turn. Perhaps, from the mont she had risked her life to rescue him from the shaless Shenlian people, he had already begun to acknowledge her.
He showered her with countless gifts. Even though he knew she lacked nothing, he never hesitated to give her more.
"Tsk, tsk! Flirtatious woman!" a sarcastic voice echoed.
"Did I flirt with you?" Shenlian Yingyue had long since beco immune to this unreasonable demon’s antics. She didn’t even bother to look at him, focusing instead on figuring out how to get rid of them as soon as possible.
There stood Shen Xian, Di Xiuyu, Yao, and Yasha. She wasn’t sure if any Upper Rank Demons or Demon Kings/Queens were nearby, following Shen Xian. Their cultivation levels were much higher than hers, making it impossible for her to detect their presence.

Yao and Yasha struggled to hold back their laughter. They had finally found soone in this world who could make their emperor suffer.
"What’s your plan?" Di Xiuyu asked.
Shenlian Yingyue wanted to pretend she hadn’t heard, but soone was determined not to let her off the hook.
"Are you deaf, human?" Shen Xian crossed his arms arrogantly.
"If you can’t keep quiet, don’t follow . I need my space," she admitted sincerely, growing extrely annoyed. Then, turning to Di Xiuyu, she answered, "I have no plan for now."
In truth, she wanted to collect treasures with her little angels first. Then, she needed to learn about the forces, territories, and other important aspects of the Immortal Realm.
"Why don’t we go our separate ways? I have my own business to attend to," she suggested, her expression unreadable.
"What business do you have? Next ti you co up with an excuse, make it more believable. You just arrived in the Immortal Realm. What business could a human from the Human Realm possibly have?" Shen Xian played with his long hair, the strange silver mask covering half his face.
Shenlian Yingyue broke into a sweat. How could she get rid of them?
Amid her struggle, Tai Hua Lei suddenly appeared out of nowhere.
"Shen Xian, I need to get Golden Berries. I heard they only grow in the Ember Dune Desert of the Immortal Realm. Not only do they quench thirst, but they also make our bodies immune to the desert heat," Tai Hua Lei suggested.
Shenlian Yingyue fixed her eyes on him. How did he get here?
"Really? A’Lei, don’t worry. I’ll get them for you right now. Do you want to co with ?" Shen Xian’s eyes imdiately lit up. Anything his beloved wanted, he would go to any lengths to obtain.
"I," Tai Hua Lei hesitated. He wanted to say that he would stay and protect her, but he realized that if he did, it would only provoke Shen Xian’s jealousy again. So instead, he said, "I’ll go with you."
Shen Xian nodded in satisfaction, then smirked at Shenlian Yingyue with a provocative gaze.
She couldn’t be bothered to care about his behavior. Instead, she cast a grateful glance at Tai Hua Lei.
"But you have to take all of them with you," Tai Hua Lei added.
Shen Xian’s smile imdiately disappeared. He frowned. "A’Lei, why?"
He had been looking forward to so alone ti with his beloved. Why did A’Lei want to bring the others as third wheels?
"There are countless dangerous sand creatures in this desert. I don’t want you to get hurt," Tai Hua Lei explained, his tone calm and unreadable.
In truth, no one knew that he was doing this for her sake.
For her, he was even willing to lie, even though he had been raised to despise deceit.
"A’Lei, you’re so good to ," Shen Xian’s heart lted, his expression softening.
"Let’s go," he said, but his face quickly darkened when he turned to look at Di Xiuyu, Yao, and Yasha.
Di Xiuyu’s expression was complicated. Why are they asking to go along? She had her own missions to complete! However, this was also a good opportunity to get close to her targets.
She glanced at Shen Xian, Yao, and Yasha. She still didn’t understand why the system had ordered her to seduce Yao and Yasha, after all, they were just Upper Rank Demons, unlike Shen Xian. But she had no choice. The deadline was set, and the punishnt for failure was severe.
"You, stay here obediently. If you dare to run, hmph!" Shen Xian snorted at Shenlian Yingyue.
"Go, go, I’ll wait for you guys here," she waved them off nonchalantly, then pulled out a chair and sat down. She also took out a large umbrella, an invention by Wang Pei Zhi, inspired by modern knowledge for convenience. Finally, she placed a glass of fresh, chilled spiritual juice and so snacks on the table.
Everyone was speechless.
Who in the world would sit in the middle of a scorching desert, leisurely enjoying snacks?
She considered giving Tai Hua Lei so supplies but changed her mind after feeling a malicious glare on her. Seriously? I didn’t even flirt with your man! she thought, rolling her eyes.
Tai Hua Lei’s eyes flashed with a doting look. He liked that she was carefree like this. Even in danger, her presence changed everything.
Shen Xian, however, was deeply displeased. He feared that Tai Hua Lei would admire her casualness, so he imdiately pulled him away.
Yao and Yasha had no choice but to follow.
Tai Hua Lei frowned. He knew that Shen Xian didn’t care about her life or death, which was why he hadn’t left Yao and Yasha to protect her.
"My master is here. He can protect ," she reassured Tai Hua Lei with a light smile, seeing through his hesitation.
Tai Hua Lei hesitated. His eyes flickered, and his fingers moved subtly. When no one was watching, a tiny shadow erged beneath his feet.
In his mind, he commanded, "Protect her. If she gets injured, I’ll kill you!"
"Don’t worry, Master," the shadow replied before rging with the sand.
As the sun set, the desert transford into a cold and eerie landscape. The heat of the day vanished, leaving the sand icy underfoot. A chilling wind swept through the dunes, whispering like ghostly voices. The stars shone brightly, but shadows stretched long and dark.
Confirming that she was alone, Shenlian Yingyue turned to Xiong Zi Ying and smiled.
"Master, are you ready for so treasure hunting?"
"I am always ready! Let’s go, my disciple!" Xiong Zi Ying grinned, feeling the thrill of adventure. This was their second journey together, after their exhilarating experience at the Abyssal Throne Ruins.
