"I want nothing," Di Xiuyu’s eyes flashed as she retreated, regaining her usual expression.
Yao and Yasha didn’t understand why Shenlian Yingyue’s expressions kept changing. The dialogue between them had been through telepathy.
Shenlian Yingyue’s gaze was filled with complexity and confusion. She refused to believe that Di Xiuyu was kind enough to save her from trouble.
She suddenly touched her neck where Di Xiuyu’s lips had brushed against. A wave of realization washed over her. Another strange scent had appeared on her neck again. What was this? No matter what it was, she didn’t hesitate to wipe it away, destroying it using her spiritual power.
"You’re too smart and quick to notice my trick. Last ti, the Celestial Wisteria powder failed to end you. Don’t worry, this scent is my favorite. It ans no harm to you," Di Xiuyu had always paid attention to her every movent and expression. She chuckled, amused by her vigilance.
"Why am I always so unlucky? I’ve never failed to complete my mission and achieve my goals. Yet, you are the only person who has made fail so many tis, and it frustrates . I admit that I don’t like you, but at the sa ti, you’re soone I feel strangely attracted to," Di Xiuyu’s words were ambiguous.
Not only was Shenlian Yingyue shocked, but even the system was screaming that its host had lost her mind! The blue screen turned red as Di Xiuyu’s consciousness was pulled into the system’s space.
"Host, are you crazy? Why are you acting like you love this antagonist?"
"Shut up! I know what I’m doing. I’m just tricking her. It’ll be easier to eliminate her later," Di Xiuyu’s face showed a hint of annoyance.
"I see, so this is just another trick." The system sighed in relief.
What it didn’t notice was the hidden emotion flickering in Di Xiuyu’s eyes.
Shenlian Yingyue observed Di Xiuyu, who had suddenly fallen silent, her eyes turning soulless as if she had lost focus. She assud that Di Xiuyu’s consciousness had been pulled sowhere else. Too lazy to concern herself with this weirdo, she went to her pavilion room and locked the door behind her.
Yao and Yasha, who had been ignored from the start, felt speechless. They stood there, wondering why they suddenly felt as insignificant as the wild grass growing in the Demon Realm.
When Di Xiuyu’s consciousness returned to reality, she realized that Shenlian Yingyue had left. Her eyes narrowed, but she quickly regained her usual composure.
------------------
Finally, the day arrived when Shenlian Yingyue could return to the Human Realm.
On the day of her departure, Xiao ng suddenly appeared. This ti, Shenlian Yingyue noticed the madness in Xiao ng’s eyes as she stared at Di Xiuyu.
Amidst her confusion, Shenlian Yingyue saw Xiao ng’s tongue had been cut off, her ridians destroyed, and her limbs broken.
Was this Di Xiuyu’s doing? Beneath her gentle mask lay cruelty, just like Huang Bai Xing, who never hesitated to destroy her enemies.
Huang Bai Xing loved to torture her enemies before killing them. In contrast, Di Xiuyu took pleasure in tornting her enemies, leaving them to live a life worse than death. She didn’t kill them, but she ensured they would never have the chance or power to cause her trouble again.
Shen Xian, who was about to open the gate, didn’t even glance at Xiao ng. She kneeled before him, wanting to tell him how hard her life had been, yet he didn’t spare her a single look.
The gate between the Demon Realm and the Human Realm opened as Shen Xian whispered a spell.
Normally, although barriers separated the realms, guardians were stationed at the gates between the Nine Realms to prevent trespassing.
Yet, for Shen Xian, opening the gate without alarming the guardians was a simple task.
It wasn’t that the guardians were incompetent or powerless, but Shen Xian was cunning. He chose a location with fewer guardians and fused the gate with his portal spell. The mont the gate opened, the portal pulled everyone inside, teleporting them elsewhere.
The guardians only noticed a slight fluctuation in space, but after checking the gate between the two realms, they found nothing unusual. They frowned, suspiciously inspecting it several tis.
The group reappeared in a desert.
The desert stretched endlessly, its golden sands shifting under the scorching sun. Towering cacti, six tis the height of a human, stood like silent guardians, their thick spines glistening.
Among the dunes, clusters of desert lilies blood, their petals glowing faintly as they released a sweet, hypnotic scent. The air shimred with heat, and the wind carried whispers of ancient magic.
Beneath the sands, secrets might be hidden; forgotten ruins, buried artifacts, and creatures moving unseen, waiting for nightfall to awaken.
"Giant cacti, desert lilies, the golden sands under the hot sun, this is the Ember Dune Desert," Xiong Zi Ying explained.
A day before, Xiong Zi Ying had pretended to show up at the gate of the royal palace to find her. In truth, he had erged from the Ethereal Small World. To prevent Shen Xian from discovering that she possessed a heaven-defying small world capable of sustaining living creatures, he had to find a way to stay close to her.
He had planned to reveal himself and remain by her side after she left the Demon Realm. However, since Shen Xian insisted on following, they had to agree for now and find an opportunity to leave him behind later.
Xiong Zi Ying still hadn’t forgotten the last ti when Shen Xian despicably used the demon tree to make his blood boil with negativity.
For now, they chose to ignore each other’s existence.
"It’s a desert where the sand glows like embers at dusk," Shen Xian lazily explained, crossing his arms as he leaned against one of the giant cacti.
Shenlian Yingyue’s lips twitched. She was very concerned about the safety of his buttocks. How could he lean against a cactus full of thorns? How many holes did his body have now?
"These thorns can’t hurt ," Shen Xian said disdainfully, as if he could see through her thoughts.
His body had been tempered with the blood of a billion-year-old Chaos Leviathan, Abyssal Dragon Blood, Netherfla Lotus, Voidroot Essence, and many other legendary herbs, making his body as strong as unbreakable diamond armor.
This was one of the reasons his enemies failed to injure him. No weapon could penetrate his skin; except for one thing that had long disappeared from this world.
"This is the Immortal Realm," Di Xiuyu’s voice echoed. Her words made everyone turn their eyes toward her.
"This is your first ti here. How do you know it’s the Immortal Realm?" Yao asked doubtfully. He felt this woman held many secrets, which was why the Demon Emperor kept her by his side for now.
Di Xiuyu’s eyes flickered, but she calmly answered, "I’ve read about it in books. The scenery and environnt here, especially the strong fluctuation of spiritual power, don’t exist anywhere in the Human Realm."
Here, the spiritual power was almost five tis stronger than in the advanced worlds of the Human Realm. Because of such powerful energy, it wasn’t difficult to recognize.
"Moreover, these giant Emberleaf Cacti don’t exist in the Human Realm. It is said they only grow in one of the deserts among many in the Immortal Realm." She pointed in a certain direction.
Emberleaf Cactus, a towering cactus with fiery red leaves, capable of storing heat and releasing bursts of fla when touched.
Everyone’s suspicions were put to rest. Yet, Shenlian Yingyue’s doubts remained. However, she said nothing and rely observed the situation.
She could feel the excitent of her babies. They had been chattering nonstop ever since they realized they were in the Immortal Realm.
{Master, there are treasures here!!} Xiao Yun’s excited voice echoed.
{Beneath the sands and these giant cacti, I sense the scent of artifacts. The sll is very tempting.} Xiao Li grinned evilly.
{Miss, find a way to get rid of these people first. Let’s go alone; we’ll lead you to the treasures.} Feng Huang’s eyes shone dazzlingly. As a phoenix, he wasn’t much different from a dragon; both loved collecting shiny things.
{We can protect you, Yue.} Jun Mu Yang’s voice echoed. He didn’t want her to stay with Shen Xian. Shen Xian’s face was too thick; others found him disgusting, yet he shalessly kept following her.
{I’ll try.} Shenlian Yingyue nodded gently. She had already spread her divine sense to scan the surroundings. There were many unidentified creatures here.
They weren’t far away. So of them looked no different from the giant plants. They tricked people by blending into nature.
She was speechless. Were non-human creatures always this cunning? And yet, she found them strangely, cute.
Pah! She slapped her forehead. What was she thinking? Cute? Oh my god. If she was right, these creatures wanted to eat her and everyone else here.
Everyone’s lips twitched.
"Xiao Yueyue, what happened?" Xiong Zi Ying asked with concern, his tone eager. He walked closer to check if she was okay.
Before, when she was injured, he hadn’t even frowned, maintaining his charming smile as if she had rely slipped. But now, even if she coughed just a little, he would rush over imdiately, treating her as if she were a fragile baby made of glass.
