The atmosphere in the study was tense, Leng Liewei’s fingers were tapping forcefully on the table, "I need an explanation."

Leng Yichen was expressionless, "She is my wife, I love her."

Leng Liewei’s gaze was intense as he looked at Leng Yichen, "You didn’t even tell about such a big thing as getting married. Do you even consider your father!"

Leng Yichen looked at his father and suddenly laughed, though the laugh carried a hint of sarcasm, "Then you didn’t tell about remarrying a young bride, didn’t that an you don’t treat as your son either?"

This was how the father and son, who hadn’t seen each other for years, conversed upon eting again, with topics entirely unrelated to familial affection.

Leng Yichen frowned slightly and said coldly, "Bai Yiran is my wife. If you can accept her, everyone will be happy. If you don’t accept her, it doesn’t matter. After all, she married , and essentially, it has nothing to do with any of you!"

Leng Liewei’s eyes were deep and his lips lightly pressed, already his dissatisfaction with Leng Yichen’s attitude was palpable, and he even extended this dissatisfaction to the innocent Bai Yiran.

In the living room, Luna scrutinized Bai Yiran, her brows slightly furrowed. "She really is a beauty. How old are you this year?"

Luna’s tone left Bai Yiran a bit speechless. Though Luna wasn’t old, her tone carried the flavor of an older woman, apparently considering herself Bai Yiran’s mother-in-law.

Since that was the case, Bai Yiran decided to play along, "I’ll be 26 after the New Year."

Twenty-six, Luna was montarily distracted. She herself was only 32 this year. Both won, yet Bai Yiran had married the vibrant Leng Yichen, while she married the much older Leng Liewei.

Seeing Luna distracted, Sister Wu beside her gave her a gentle nudge. Luna imdiately snapped back to reality, smiled, walked over to Bai Yiran, and pulled her to sit on the sofa. "Although there’s not much difference in age, there’s a generational gap. As an elder, it’s customary to give you a gift upon our first eting. But, you can’t bla . Both Old Master and I didn’t know about the existence of a daughter-in-law like you."

Though Luna’s words seed to be an excuse for not bringing a gift for Bai Yiran, she was actually criticizing Leng Yichen for not informing them about his marriage. At the sa ti, she was belittling Bai Yiran, implying she wasn’t even worthy of receiving a gift in this family.

After speaking, Luna calmly awaited Bai Yiran’s reaction, with Sister Wu beside her wearing a mocking expression.

Sister Liu stood to the side, seething inside at Luna’s words.

Bai Yiran smiled, "It’s okay, I also didn’t know about your existence. Otherwise, as a junior, I would prepare a eting gift too."

Hearing Bai Yiran’s words, Luna’s expression stiffened and turned ugly, and even Sister Wu beside her changed her expression, her small eyes blatantly mocking Bai Yiran.

"Sister Liu!" Bai Yiran turned and called out.

Liu, who was standing not far away, imdiately walked over, "Madam, what can I do for you?"

This Sister Liu was now calling Bai Yiran ’Madam’ again. Bai Yiran glanced at her teasingly, didn’t say more. It was good to give Luna and her so initial pressure. Bai Yiran thought Luna didn’t seem to be well-behaved.

"Dad and little mom are back today, make sure to prepare your specialties."

"Got it!" Upon receiving Bai Yiran’s instructions, Sister Liu imdiately headed to the kitchen.

"What did you call ?" Luna’s face turned pale, "Did you call little mom? Are you insulting ?"

Suddenly Luna raised her voice sharply, looking like a hen reaching its peak. However, Bai Yiran truly couldn’t understand what her excitent was about.

Was it just because of that ’little mom’?
