Days continued to pass by slowly. All the classes, regardless of their grades, had gotten serious with their studies.

Almost every class organized study groups, choosing different locations to et on campus.

Kaiser’s group continued to et in the private room in the Karaoke bar, holding their lessons there.

After finishing a two-hour tutorial with them, he would return to his room, prepare dinner and eat, then go to Mordica’s room to teach her. Of course he always ignored the cosplay posters she had on the walls, even though she still had her room enveloped in purple lighting.

By the ti it was Friday, it beca obvious to him that his group’s academic performance had increased sufficiently.

Now, Ysabella didn’t fail maths any longer, and the others were also passing their weakest subjects smoothly.

Kaiser was satisfied with their progress, and wanted to end the lesson that sa day.

Just as everyone got ready to start the lesson, the door was pushed open.

Mordica strode in, her expression cold and icy as she took a lone seat, barely acknowledging their presence.

Ysabella smiled naturally. "Ah, Mordica. I’ve been wondering why you haven’t been showing up despite being one of our group mbers."

Inwardly though, she wasn’t feeling it. She had just asked out of formality, as it would feel strange if she didn’t ask.

And it wasn’t like Mordica was going to answer her anyway. Her smile widened, expecting the usual "none of your business" remark.

Mordica turned to her, her expression unchanged. "I prefer his private lessons to gatherings like this. I only ca today to honor an agreent."

The room froze, and even Kaiser looked at her in surprise. She actually explained to Ysabella? It was strange, and he wondered what she was thinking of in her head.

"A-ah... I see..."

Ysabella stuttered with an awkward smile, then turned to the blue-haired boy beside her.

"Kaiser. You didn’t tell you did private lessons."

On the other side, Kiera shot her a mild glare, but turned to look at Kaiser with a questioning look too.

"Why didn’t you tell us?"

Inwardly, she was a bit jealous and angry. So he’d always teach her privately after leaving them? That was too expensive!

Kaiser wasn’t soone just anyone could access at all! Anyone except her!

Kiera blinked abruptly, startled by her own thoughts. Her face turned red, and she imdiately lowered her head.

Kaiser was about to answer her when he saw her expression undergo several changes.

He couldn’t help but be further confused. Still, he wasn’t really concerned, so he turned back to Ysabella.

"You didn’t ask for it. So I don’t think you want it."

The blonde girl wasn’t ready to argue with him, so she simply nodded.

"That’s right. My bad."

Kaiser turned to Charles who had remained silent all the while, seemingly afraid of bringing attention to himself.

"Since everyone is here, let’s start imdiately."

Clapping his hands, he prepared to start the lesson when Mordica tossed sothing to him.

He instinctively caught it, feeling the cold texture on his hand.

"Hmm. You got a yoghurt? Nice."

Still, he set it aside and started the lesson. Halfway through, he would occasionally take the yoghurt little by little.

By the ti he was done, the yoghurt had been fully consud, and he could finally end the lesson.

"That sums it up. I believe I’ve imbued everyone with enough knowledge."

Kiera raised her head, smiling brightly. "Thanks, Kaiser. I really didn’t think I’d be able to cover my weak subjects this much."

Ysabella also chid in, wearing a flattering smile.

"Yes. You really made maths simple for now. I don’t know how I’m supposed to thank you."

"Uh... thanks for everything, bro."

Even Charles had to speak. He adjusted his glasses and smiled, looking more like a doughnut than a student.

"I was just doing my own part."

Kaiser said and stood up, ready to leave. His bag had already been packed, so there was no delay.

""Hey, wait.""

Two girls called out to him at the sa ti, then slowly turned their gazes to each other.

One pair of red eyes, another pair of purple.

Kaiser paused, alternating his gaze between the two of them.

’There seems to be a friction between them. Or am I missing sothing?’

Not wanting his ti to be wasted, he asked. "What is the matter?"

Mordica and Kiera turned their attention back to him and they spoke respectively.

"I have sothing to ask you."

"Let’s head back together."

Instantly, they turned to each other again, starting another staring contest. Unfortunately, Kaiser wasn’t free enough to give them a mont of his ti today.

"I’m afraid I won’t be available. I’m heading elsewhere."

Without waiting for a reply, he grabbed his bag and walked out.

Kiera’s face turned sour, while Mordica’s face barely twitched.

"Uh... goodnight guys!"

Charles greeted them all and imdiately dashed out of the room feeling nervous.

"Hmm. I have to retire early guys. It’s been a long day."

Ysabella also yawned, picked up her bag, and left after waving at them.

Mordica and Kiera were the only ones left, making the white-haired girl nervous again. However, rembering Kaiser, who had promised to protect her, she felt a surge of courage.

Mordica looked at her with narrowed eyes and then shook her head.

"So that’s it? Hm, unexpected but nothing special."

She picked up her bag and stood up, ready to leave.

Kiera’s eyes widened. "W-what? Where are you going?"

Mordica didn’t even turn to her. "My room of course. Any problem?"

The white-haired girl felt flustered and confused. "You aren’t... going to say anything?"

She didn’t know why, but she had a feeling that Mordica had seen through her identity.

"Why? It’s just a bloodling. Not a real demonic species. And since that guy hasn’t killed you yet, then you’re not worth paying attention to."

Hearing the purple-haired girl’s answer, Kiera lowered her head and smiled bitterly.

’Just a bloodling? Not a real demonic species?’

Even though she wasn’t too old as a bloodling, she couldn’t help but feel offended by those words. However, there was nothing she could do.

At least it proved that there were people other than Kaiser who remained indifferent to her identity. Unlike that two-faced bitch Ysabella.

"Uh?"

When she raised her head, Mordica had already gone from the room, so she could only pick up her bag and leave alone. Still, she always had soone to accompany her.

"Liam? Are you done with your group? Not done? Alright. I’ll be heading back alone."

Shoulders slumped, she dropped the call and walked back to the dormitory by herself.

Unknown to her, a pair of predatory eyes were locked on her, silent and calculating.

.........

Kaiser headed back to the school building, arriving at the library in a few minutes. After scanning the whole place, he imdiately found the person he was looking for.

Approaching the girl who was seating alone, he sat opposite her.

"You just finished with your group, I presu?"

He asked resting his chin on his palm as he looked at her.

Maya raised her head and smiled. There was a tired expression on her face, even though she tried to hide it.

Kaiser naturally wouldn’t miss such a detail.

"Yes. Do you want to eat outside? I’m feeling a bit lazy to cook tonight. So I thought about eating from the restaurants."

Kaiser humd, then stood up.

"Seems the lessons drained you much more than I expected. Let’s go back. I’ll prepare sothing for you."

Maya was briefly surprised, then smiled wryly. "You don’t seem to miss any detail, do you?"

Kaiser shrugged, rolling his shoulders and gesturing for her to get up.

"My apologies. I was raised to be perceptive."

Maya giggled as she stood up, then followed him with a smile.

The librarian saw them leaving together and gave a strange smile, making Kaiser shiver.

’What a creepy woman.’

As they made their way back to the dormitory, Maya turned to him and asked.

"Kai, I heard you led a study group in your class too. Is that true?"

He glanced at her and nodded.

"Yes. Since you said you were doing that, I wanted to try it out too."

Maya’s green eyes widened. "E-eh? You did that because of ?"

Kaiser shrugged casually. "It was just a random decision, though."

Maya’s eyes narrowed suspiciously, but she rely smiled and didn’t continue asking him why. Instead she asked him how the lessons went.

Kaiser answered honestly. "Although it’s a bit puzzling why those guys fail to understand simple topics, I was able to make them understand it in the end. Though, I do have to say that it is a bit annoying and irritating when they give wrong answers."

He shook his head with a faint smile, rembering monts where Kiera and Ysabella repeatedly made mistakes.

"Is that so? Looks like you didn’t do bad teaching them. That’s nice."

When they finally arrived at the dormitory, Kaiser saw Iruca and Ashley ready to enter the elevator. The two groups—more specifically, the two girls, smiled at each other, then everyone entered the elevator.
