Lind was too weak to do any major repairs but even at his peak, he was uncertain what he could do. Modifying a weapon like the staff was easy, recreating it or restoring it, however, was beyond him.
The issue was he was not Sun. His own intent, harmony, and other factors would pollute the process. Normally, that was a good thing, yet not with the staff Sun had bonded to.
It was literally a part of his friend. He could no more recreate that unique set of circumstances than he could manipulate a soul to dance to his tune without harming it or changing it.
Aside from all that, he simply had nothing left to use! The Western Lant was years away, even tearing through space, so he had no way to get what he needed.
He also doubted the source forest still existed as well. The destruction of that continent left many gaps in ancient resources.
He wrapped them up in a clean cloth for the mont. Maybe Sun could fix it or maybe he would never be able to be reborn again. It was also possible he could never cultivate either.
Lind needed to be better nded to examine him.
"How is he?" Karu looked at him sternly, but she knew he was worried. She sighed but then turned and he was shocked to see his Mother of all people consulting with other healers.
She was covered in blood of both humans and demons, but she was firm. He also noted many of the Divine Realm cultivators were listening intently to her before a smile cracked his face.
Of course, next to him, she was the most renowned expert on his foundational elental theories and how they applied to professions. Even though she could not help Divine Realm cultivators directly, her expertise was impossible to deny.
It also helped the Harmonic Dragons revered her as his mother.
Lind saw Karu smirk at the scene as well. Unlike other professions, healers were far more inclined to listen to each other no matter the realm.
A good healer looked for answers no matter the source. They did not dismiss it nor let it slip away. His existence had proven things were no longer the sa. His results had only confird his claims.
Mira felt his gaze and when she saw him, a cold glare filled her dark green eyes. Everyone suddenly parted in front of her. She marched forward and Lind suddenly wanted to be unconscious once more.
Even Karu and Yue were gone faster than he could track! He waited calmly before she stood over his seated form.
"Who let you up?" He flinched but did not bow. He looked at Sun and sighed.
"I made them take . I heard about–" Her finger flew in front of him and he stopped. She looked at the wounded monkey and sighed.
"He saved you and your ship. I am grateful and I know he is a friend but he is beyond any healing, Lind." The fact an Immortal called him so casually by na made many realize how important his mother was to him.
Several figures beca very interested in other things as it was possible they could see a Divine Realm get scolded by an Immortal!
Mira checked both Sun's and his pulse. He did not stop her but he was surprised his body did not put up an ounce of resistance. Normally, soone would have to be on par or stronger than him to scan him.
He could allow them to as well but he had done nothing. If he needed a baroter for his current condition, it was far more telling at that mont! He was not in good shape at all.
The deep frown on her face revealed he was right. The cold sweat had nothing to do with the ice in her eyes, he was sure.
"Compared to Sun, you are in far worse shape! Do you understand that?!" Her words were not loud but Lind felt like he had been struck. He was suddenly a small child again in the old Frey Clan courtyard and caught stealing sweets!
"I will recover, however, won't I?" His question was reflexive but her mask of anger cracked. She slowly nodded.
"Even I am not obstructed by his aura so the foundation is damaged to the extre. Further, it is like sothing is missing. I have never felt anything like it." Lind felt his hopes sink at her words.
He knew that kind of damage. He had worked and healed many people. He had felt that kind of damage but normally the person was barely alive.
Sun's body was relatively intact and healthy. He looked at the small bundle and knew he had been right.
Sun's existence was complicated. He had been reborn through his bloodline and the connection to the staff. The bloodline was intact and thriving but the staff was the key. Without it, Sun was never going to be fully reborn again.
He might still return through the natural cycle of Samsara but with no mory.
He had no idea where to begin but then froze. Yes he did!
He tried to stand and a pair of hands felt like iron on his shoulders.
"If you so much as try to resist , you will be carried out of here on my orders." The ice in her voice made it clear to anyone nearby she was not kidding.
"I need Karu. Please get her back?" He was serious and she could see it. She sighed and then simply glanced at a direction before Karu seed to appear. She had been hiding!
Karu looked nervous but Mira waved her over.
"Help him quickly so I can put him back on bed rest!" Karu looked at him but he held his hand out. He was so weak that sending a transmission required her physical contact.
[You can still see the future?] She nodded. Her Talent to reset ti was gone but seeing the future was still a part of her. [Can you hold the staff piece in your hand and hold his hand in your other?]
His odd question mystified her but it was easy enough. She did as requested. She then turned to him but he looked at his Mother.
She needed no words and delved Sun once more. Surprise flared on her face as she looked at Lind.
[How?] He smiled as it confird sothing for him. He beckoned her closer.
[Place all the pieces on his body and attempt to heal him with any soul Art or skill. Trust .] He could not do it in his current state, but there was more than him around with the skills.
Mira obeyed and called for 2 Harmonic Dragons, as well as 3 6 elental humans. They were all in the Apprentice Tier but healing skill could be supplented with a team effort.
The soul, especially, was not restricted by realm as much as the rest of the foundation.
Karu was about to let go when he shook his head.
[You are vital. Concentrate on the feeling and trust .] It was not so much a gamble but a hope. He hoped he was right and that his theory was sound enough to not invoke the Wrath of Heaven.
The small team ca together and under Mira's direction assessed their patient. The group frowned deeply but trusted their leader. The aura around them beca profound but a shock passed through the crowd.
A giant golden monkey appeared in the air above Sun. He resembled the man to such an extent, it was clear they were looking directly at his soul!
It was ancient and powerful. It slowly opened its eyes and looked down at Lind.
{You are trying to repair the path. I am thankful but it cannot be done. My path ends here.}
Lind smiled up at the soul. It was not Sun exactly, it was the piece of the original still alive in the staff!
"You are wrong, I am not trying to repair the path, but show you the way." Confusion made the golden monkey face scrunch up but then Karu glowed with white and burnt orange flas.
A massive force slamd into them all as a long line of Karu's appeared. They were very faint, as if they were barely holding on. Yet, they all looked at the golden monkey and Lind.
The projected soul shivered.
{What–?!} Before any more words could be said the faint figures turned to Lind and bowed low. No one understood but Karu and he did.
The sacrifice of the pair was known only to the very depths by those versions that had died over and over again. Karu was sweating as the staff shimred in an aura no one recognized.
Lind smiled as he saw the golden monkey soul's eyes go saucer wide in shock as many versions of himself suddenly appeared laughing and waving.
Divine mory. While Karu's mory never changed the world around her, it was an effect of her Talent. Lind had bet on sothing. Now that the Talent was gone, its traces were no longer bound by whatever rules governed them as they could do nothing.
The fact they were so faint only confird the very Divine mory was breaking down as the Talent was the only thing that anchored them before.
The world had ended many tis and Lind knew a Master Tier's aura, let alone the next major realm, could perceive information swiftly in a single scan. He knew her. She cared about all the lives lost every ti.
Also, any scrap of knowledge might be critical to the next attempt. Sun was a rare being. He had been reborn directly over and over and thus every version was him!
The ones that died in those other tilines were still in her mory! The staff was intact in those tilines!
Lind could not fix it nor could external healers, but they could cause a resonance if enough of Karu's dregs of her Talent held that mory!
The solid golden monkey soul laughed in joy before he began to wave his arms and legs in a profound manner. The many faint monkeys joined in and the living clan mbers joined in.
A rumble of thunder ca but it was not anger, it was joy!
Lightning struck down not to destroy but to restore! The pieces snapped into the air before reassembling. Small splinters no figure could possibly re-insert were there too. Small glowing orbs appeared from the distance to join them.
It took 2 broken paths but it worked!
Sun suddenly roared as his hand snapped around the reassembled staff. His aura surged before a familiar feeling ca from. Breakthrough! He was condensing a new Mystery but Lind frowned.
Sun had been at the peak of the journeyman Tier. Wouldn't a new Mystery–?!
He was suddenly pulled back and others moved but they froze as the black clouds brought no challenge nor trial. The trial was his rebirth and the cause.
Sun had created and faced a trial Heaven and Earth could not top!
He smoothly ascended to the Master Tier and held up his staff as it too transford with golden flas! Lind laughed loud and long! It was the last thing he rembered before he passed out again.
He was in so much trouble when he woke up!
