Facing the overwhelming horde of giants, no one dared to take them lightly. Not a single one of them was a common creature; they were all at least tier one. And most of those who had made it to the battlefield were tier two.
There were at least tens of thousands of these swarming giants. No one knew how many more were behind them.
"This is the giants’ counterattack, what’s uncertain is whether they plan to launch a full-scale offensive."
"No matter what they’re planning, all we need to do is shore up our defenses on this side. We haven’t completed our preparations to advance anyway. Besides, our top-tier giants can be blocked by school leaders as well."
There were no tier-five students among them, and there weren’t many who were tier four either. If they had to rely on the students alone, there was no way they could stand up to these giants. But the academy itself was no pushover.
In the rear, a secret force from the academy had long been waiting here, primarily composed of tier-four Professionals.

As the order was given from above, the ships at Salt Lake sprang into action. These vessels were built by students of the construction major in recent tis; although they were made of wood, their combat power was not insignificant.
The various runes inscribed on them ensured their offensive and defensive capabilities wouldn’t be inferior to ironclad ships. So of them even possessed energy weapons, with firepower that could match that of tier-three and even tier-four.
Unfortunately, due to the rules of this world, one must have the corresponding rank and class to control these weapons. Otherwise, just with these weapons alone, they could kill as many giants as they ca across.
Furthermore, to the rear, a large number of weapons were rolled forward, targeting the approaching giants.
"Our Heavily Ard Warriors are ready; do we push them forward?" Soone suddenly ca forward to report.
"Wait a mont, the casualties have been too great recently. Our territory hasn’t been established for long; if it continues like this, even if the soldiers themselves have no complaints, the lords will," said the lord, who was no ordinary person.

They had no choice but to prepare, for giants had already stepped onto traps. Unfortunately, due to the giants’ massive size and their skin’s resistance and defense, regular traps had little effect on them.
There were even so Fire attribute traps which, after exploding, failed to kill even a tier-one Fla Giant; quite the embarrassing situation.
No help for it, among the elental damage-type traps, Fire Elent ones were the most common, thanks to their strong explosive effects. Despite previous experience, people still made these basic mistakes.
At this mont, the student council mbers had no mind to ponder these issues, as many giants were already charging through the traps. The giants may not have known much about the traps, but their robust physique allowed them to withstand the damage.
As they entered the trap zone, the ships on Salt Lake began their attack. Bolts and beams of light rained down on the giants from the ships. Being attacked, the giants fought back. Those near the lake paused to hurl stones and javelins at the ships. A fierce battle erupted there first.
"No good, the attack is too intense, we must retreat, or we’ll die."
Under the brutality of battle, so students couldn’t take it any longer and began to retreat. Their withdrawal led to even more people falling back, and the waterborne forces, previously at an advantage, started to seem vulnerable.
On the contrary, the morale of the giants surged as they noticed the ships withdrawing.
Director Wang furrowed his brows, standing aside. "Ah, ultimately they’re students, not a real army; we can’t force them to charge forward. Otherwise, even if the casualty rate is within the school’s control, the students’ parents wouldn’t let it go so easily." After all, the academy was an academic institution, not a military or so other organization.
If the school forced the students to charge, it would only take the deaths of four or five students for parents and organizations to start lashing out at the institution. This was their limitation; they really had no choice.

Director Wang said nothing. It was each individual’s choice, and the academy had its own reputation to consider.
If it really operated carelessly like an army, the academy could not continue functioning.
"Look, they’re making contact up ahead," soone suddenly shouted. At the forefront, giants had crossed the trap zone and were engaging with the students. The giants’ counterattack was sudden and determined.
Many students had not returned from various locations, resulting in insufficient troops. As a large number of giants charged over, the students’ Summoned Creatures imdiately took up the fight, and a brutal lee ensued.
The Summoned Creatures were generally no match for the giants, especially tier-three ones with fla eruptions from their fists, which few creatures could withstand. Additionally, so tier-four giants also joined the battlefield, looking eager to join the fray.
"These giants are crazy; we might have to step in soon."
"No, we can’t get involved, we need to hold back the ones coming later. If we engage now and a tier-five giant seizes the opportunity, we could be in danger and possibly face complete collapse."
Director Wang objected, and no one could argue; indeed, even though no tier-five giants had shown up, they could feel a suppressive presence. It kept them on alert at all tis. Similarly, the giants must have sensed their presence too, or the tier-five giants would have already shown up, given their notoriously bad tempers.
Tier-five was the leadership tier among the giants since five was the limit in this world.
