Without any ti to linger, Du You dashed back to the first chamber, then ran right back out in just a few minutes, leaving the cave behind. With Xiaozi in tow, he leapt from the cave mouth and landed on the ground, finally feeling a sense of relief.
Having spent an entire day in there, the sun outside had already begun to set.
"Finally got out. Wonder if I’ve completed the task yet."
Opening the box, Du You found a pitch-black object inside that resembled a lump of coal. However, it radiated a palpable, pulsating energy. This was a characteristic ford by the high concentration of dark elents.
Opening the task panel, he saw the task had indeed changed. The second phase was now completed.
Class Promotion Task: Phase 3 of Dark Shaper: Enter the Goblin Cetery, find the Cursed Crow, and procure its corpse.
"More killing? Crows this ti?" Reading the na "Cursed Crow", Du You knew it wasn’t going to be easy. There was just not enough information about this job change.
He thought he would only find clues for his job change when he reached levels three or four. Unexpectedly, he found it on the first attempt. Not having ti to research in advance, all he could do now was follow the task step by step.
If it wasn’t for his dual occupation and his luck, any other person in his place wouldn’t have even been able to complete the first phase.
He looked at his long sword, noticing a bit of corrosion, which pained Du You.
This was his first and best piece of equipnt. Who would’ve thought those damn iron-skinned zombies would be so troubleso. He hoped the upcoming opponents would be less dangerous, else he might even consider not coming for the next ti.
The running and fighting had drained most of Du You’s magic power, as well as his physical strength. Xiaozi was in the sa predicant. Since they had been on the run, surrounded by zombies, Xiaozi was also not in good shape.
Both he and Xiaozi needed ti to recover, so they did not resu their journey imdiately.
Of course, Du You also noticed that the arrow in his globe had changed direction again.
"I get it, this globe must be for locating the Cursed Crow to create dark pets." Du You suddenly recalled a note he had, which seed to ntion this globe.
Ordinarily, one would need to use a magic array to fuse a corpse with a Dark Elent Stone to create a dark pet. However, the notes he had did not record any magic array, just the globe.
After killing the Cursed Crow, he should be able to create his first dark pet.
Creating a skill directly to assist in job change was quite common; Du You had researched this.
Of course, Du You is not worried about not knowing the magic array. Upon accomplishing job change, he would gain all the necessary knowledge. Even if he couldn’t, he could use plenty of crystal coins to deduce and receive everything he needed. Crystal coins were not only used for upgrading one’s strength.
Once the sun had set and they had recovered, Du You was finally prepared to continue the journey.
"Let’s go. We should aim to reach our destination tonight and find it in daylight tomorrow. Searching in a cetery at night is rather unsettling. Also, this place isn’t like the cave. If danger strikes, we can run."
These words were not just for Xiaozi but also to boost his own morale. The task was very dangerous; there were several tis when Du You almost used his crystal coins to level up. Fortunately, he persisted.
Du You rembered that Teacher Li had warned him not to venture into the Derived World on his own, as it was very dangerous. If the school found out that he had levelled up, who knew what kind of punishnt would be handed down.
Having just entered the world and just starting to understand the new world, Du You had many questions and thus chose to keep a low profile. At least for now, he should stay low-key.
Following the arrow, Du You continued his journey. Oddly enough, after leaving the cave, the glow from the globe retracted. Even when night fell, the globe did not glow again. This might have sothing to do with the cave. Du You didn’t understand fully but decided not to dwell too much on it.
As he ventured deep into the Goblin Forest, Du You noticed there were fewer goblins at night as most of them returned to their tribe. He just needed to bypass these gathering spots.
However, Du You did encounter a spot he couldn’t bypass.
Ahead was a small gathering of goblins, at least a hundred of them. Located in the middle of a canyon, his arrow indicated he had to pass through it.
Ignoring the gathering spot’s location, even if he wanted to charge through, he was no match for them.
"Damn, Xiaozi hasn’t fully recovered yet. Flying while carrying would be too strenuous."
Observing his surroundings, he looked for alternate routes. However, the steep cliffs on both sides ant that any approach would get him spotted. Unless...
Du You turned his expectant gaze towards the Dreamy Butterfly. "You did nothing on our journey here. But after half a day, it’s finally your turn to pull your weight." Du You suggested somberly.
The Dreamy Butterfly offered no resistance. It was, after all, just an insect. Gently leaving Du You’s shoulder, the Dreamy Butterfly flew leisurely towards the target. Yes, Du You was intending to rely on the Dreamy Butterfly’s power.
If that didn’t work, he’d have to wait until Xiaozi fully recovered, then fly over.
This place was not the Law Formalized Derived World. That world was special which allowed Xiaozi to fly several thousand ters high. In a normal world, Xiaozi didn’t have that kind of ability.
The Dreamy Butterfly flew over the goblin settlent and released a stream of invisible dust, the Dreamy Powder.
In one go, the Dreamy Butterfly released all of its Dreamy Powder, making it useless for a long ti. But under the effect of the Dreamy Powder, the goblins’ eyes gradually grew confused.
"Xiaozi, you go and try. See if they can see you."
Following Du You’s instructions, Xiaozi flew over resentfully, landed on the ground, and even fluttered in front of the goblins. They showed no reaction. "Good job, let’s go."
Clutching his fists, Du You rushed from the side of the cliff. The dazed goblins completely failed to notice sothing running past their settlent. "You’ve done a great job." Du You generously praised the Dreamy Butterfly. With this strategy, he had saved a lot of ti.
