Walking to the task board like everyone else, Du You stopped to peruse the responsibilities. Many people noticed him and quietly distanced themselves, seemingly feeling they were not in the sa league as him anymore.
However, at this juncture, a man with blond hair approached him. "Brother, I’ve heard that you’re quite powerful, how about we collaborate?" He proposed.
Du You furrowed his brows and turned to him, "Who are you? Why do you want to collaborate with and what could we possibly collaborate on?"
The stranger just smiled, "You’re new here, so you don’t know yet, my na is Aelius. The main reason I want to collaborate with you is that there’s a decent mission, but it’s too much for alone."
"What mission?" Du You’s interest was piqued.
"It’s this one, the third one on the list, collecting Griffin eggs. Do you know what a Griffin is? It’s a very powerful flying creature. Our Pegasi have always been inferior to the Sand Sculpture creatures tad by the Sandpeople in terms of speed and endurance, but a Griffin surpasses the Sand Sculptures in every way."
"Recently, it’s been said that soone has discovered the Secret thod to ta Griffins, so White Stone City is planning to collect so Griffin eggs and train them from hatchlings. That’s what this mission is all about."
"Really? Now that’s interesting. But why choose to collaborate with?"
"Yeah, why should we collaborate with him when we can handle it ourselves."
A freckled man with flaxen hair approached at so point unnoticed and whispered to Aelius.
Aelius also whispered back, "Of course, we’re looking for a scapegoat, okay, now stop talking."
Du You raised an eyebrow, using him as a scapegoat so brazenly, what did they an by this? Did they think he’d have to obey them? Were these two idiots from so noble family?
"Brother, this is my helper Morry, a very skilled archer."
After a pause, Aelius carried on, "The thing is, Griffin eggs are quite large, and we wouldn’t be able to carry too many even if we went. However, your Summoned Beast can carry many at once, which is why we need your help."
"Hey, wasn’t it that we’ve prepared a temporary Support Beast which can carry a lot back? Although Griffin eggs aren’t small, it’s not likely to get that many."
Morry behind whispered again.
Du You frowned, did they consider him a fool? Planning against him in front of his face, did they believe everyone would obey them? Du You could barely stop himself from casting a Disintegration Spell on them.
"Lower your voice, if we keep this up, he’ll beco suspicious. Who then will risk their life for us then? Don’t forget, there’s a Sand People Patrol stationed at Black Stone Canyon, how are we going to get past that, are you going to attract the attention of the Sandpeople?"
Aelius’s voice beca slightly louder, causing Du You to sense sothing amiss.
"So that’s why, no wonder there’s no reaction from the surrounding people, it turns out it’s a different pronunciation."
Du You had initially thought they were two fools, nobles who believed every commoner would listen to them. Now, Du You recognised they were using two completely different languages.
The sound they made seed like humming, perhaps it was a very rare language. As long as they did not hum for too long, no one would think they were talking but assu it was so kind of strange habit.
Having realised this, Du You relaxed. "Hehe, let’s see what you two are really up to. In the end, it’s not certain who will be tricking whom."
Du You looked closely at the mission: it urgently needed to be done by the military, but the location was dangerous and sensitive. Therefore, not many people could be involved, having a large army approach might trigger a massive battle.
Thus, the mission held substantial rit, with every additional Griffin egg increasing the rit. If a large number were to be brought back, perhaps it could directly reach his goal.
"I see, well, I agree then, we can accept the mission now."
The mission does have high rit, but almost no one dared to take it. Clearly, Black Stone Canyon was not a safe place.
"Since you’ve agreed, that’s great, but we should take the mission separately when accepting. If we form a small team when accepting it, the calculation of rit would have so deductions. It is better to proceed separately."

Seeing Du You so compliant, Aelius and Morry exchanged glances and smiled.
"Indeed, these newbies with high self-esteem are easier to fool. Just flatter them a bit and they’ll forget who they are. It’s just a pity that such newbies are really hard to find." Aelius humd in agreent.
Under the predatory gazes of the two n, Du You accepted the mission, and they did shortly after.
