After retrieving this mory from the Chinese Martin, even as a succubus, Martin found it utterly ridiculous.

What was even more absurd was that even after his sexual misconduct was confird, Jas Hendricks still managed to avoid disciplinary action and retire with full benefits.

In 2021, the U.S. Departnt of Justice's Office of the Inspector General reopened the case and investigated Hendricks again.

The result?

No punishnt. Full retirent benefits intact.

Most people probably didn't know that the FBI actually allows supervisors to have sexual relationships with their subordinates. The only requirent? They must disclose it so that managent can determine if corrective action is necessary, such as reassigning duties to prevent interference with FBI operations.

In other words, bosses can sleep with subordinates—but afterward, they just need to report it to their superiors.

This is ridiculous. Ridiculous to the extre.

(PS: Aside from the military, the FBI has the highest rate of sexual harassnt in the U.S. governnt.)

After absorbing this piece of information, Martin felt a slight sense of disgust, but his face remained calm.

With a smile, he got into the agents' car, placing his hands on his lap and quietly observing them.

The hot-tempered agent sitting beside Martin felt unnerved by his gaze. He wanted to lash out but didn't dare to.

The agent in the front passenger seat occasionally glanced at Martin through the rearview mirror. He also found Martin's calm deanor unsettling—but he couldn't quite explain why.

It's not like we can accuse him of being too cooperative...

The driver was a burly, bearded white man—clearly from the FBI's tactical team—with a holstered firearm at his waist.

As soon as Martin got in, the black rcedes started up, smoothly pulling into traffic.

The black SUV followed closely behind.

Gordon watched both vehicles disappear down the road before imdiately pulling out his phone to call Martin's lawyer.

Then, he got into the car, ready to take Drew ho.

"Gordon, will Martin be alright?"

"He'll be fine. No one can do anything to the boss—not even Bush."

Gordon, thoroughly brainwashed by Martin's charisma, had absolute confidence in him.

Besides, the FBI had acted in broad daylight instead of carrying out a secret operation. They hadn't detained him and Drew, which ant they weren't planning anything too extre against Martin.

anwhile, inside the black rcedes, Martin sat quietly, watching the three n in the car.

The driver remained focused on the road, but the two agents were visibly on edge under Martin's gaze.

After the 23rd ti glancing at Martin through the rearview mirror, the agent in the passenger seat accidentally made eye contact with him.

His mind blanked for a split second, then returned to normal.

He didn't dwell on it. But when he glanced at Martin again through the mirror, he suddenly felt that this young man seed extraordinarily powerful, soone worth obeying.

For so strange reason, he didn't find this thought unusual. He simply averted his gaze.

Then, the hot-tempered agent sitting beside Martin also accidentally t his eyes.

His expression visibly softened.

Then, Martin spoke.

"You two—aren't you going to introduce yourselves?"

"Of course, Mr. Martin. My na is Donovan," said the agent in the front seat.

"Mr. Martin, I'm Sandy Glenn," said the agent beside him.

The driver glanced at them in confusion.

These two? One's a loose cannon, the other's a scher. When did they beco so damn polite? Is it because of Martin's status?

Martin asked, "Do you know why Jas Hendricks wants to see ?"

Donovan replied, "Mr. Hendricks didn't say, but he received a call from the White House yesterday. I overheard part of it—it was from President Bush."

The driver nearly lost control of the wheel.

What the hell?! Donovan, are you serious right now?

Then Sandy Glenn added, "Our boss's biggest financial backer is Texas Natural Gas Company. It might have sothing to do with them."

The driver's face twisted in disbelief.

Wait... Has Martin already bought off Hendricks' two most trusted agents?

And why are they saying this in front of ? Are they planning to buy off too?

His warped expression slowly relaxed.

If Martin's going to bribe , he'll probably be generous, right?

Martin stroked his chin. Texas Natural Gas Company?

Obviously, it was a subsidiary of Texas Oil Group. That made it clear who was really behind this.

Soon, the two vehicles left the city, driving down a deserted road.

"This direction... We're heading toward New Jersey, aren't we?" Martin asked.

Sandy Glenn nodded. "Yes, but we're stopping at a safe house along the way. Mr. Hendricks is waiting for you there."

One hour later.

Safe house?!

Martin stared at the luxurious mansion in front of him, filled with infinite sarcasm.

"Uh... Mr. Hendricks enjoys the finer things in life," Donovan explained awkwardly.

"Really? Well, who doesn't?" Martin said dryly.

The mansion's gates opened, and their car drove straight into the courtyard, finally stopping near a fountain.

Martin stepped out and adjusted his clothes slightly—just as a slightly overweight, blonde, white man approached with an enthusiastic expression.

"Oh! Mr. Martin, welco! It's an honor to have you here."

As he spoke, he extended his hand to Martin.

"Mr. Martin, I'm Jas Hendricks. Please, call Jas. I hope you don't mind bringing you here unannounced."

Martin shook his hand briefly, then locked eyes with him. "What does Mr. Hendricks need from ?"

Hendricks instinctively t Martin's gaze—and his long-trained vigilance kicked in.

But it was too late.

For a mont, his pupils flickered—then suddenly, his face broke into a warm smile.

Not the fake, professional smile he had worn before.

But a genuine, almost affectionate smile—like an old friend seeing soone after years apart.

"No rush. Let's talk inside."

Hendricks glanced subtly at the agents standing around before making an inviting gesture toward Martin.

Inside, the mansion's interior was even more extravagant than expected.

Young, attractive won in maid uniforms moved about, tending to the house.

This guy really knows how to enjoy life.

Martin couldn't help but roll his eyes internally.

"These ladies were rescued from human traffickers," Hendricks said smoothly. "They had nowhere else to go, so I took them in."

"You're such a kind man," Martin mocked without hesitation.

The FBI agents following them into the house flinched at his boldness.

But Hendricks wasn't fazed in the slightest.

Of course not.

Martin had just used a significant amount of magic to control him.

Despite Hendricks' terrible morals, his ntal resistance was shockingly strong—he had lasted nearly 1.56 seconds against Martin's influence.

That was impressive.

After all—Martin had already recovered 1% of his forr power from the Demon-God Continent.
