The battle between their opposing forces raged on, their Angel and Demon energies refusing to yield. The sky trembled under the sheer magnitude of power colliding between them.
Then, in an instant the tension reached its breaking point.
BOOM!
A massive explosion erupted in the air, consuming everything in a blinding burst of light. The raw energy shattered outward in waves, sending streaks of golden fire and abyssal darkness scattering like dying stars.
As the light faded, only shimring particles remained, drifting lazily through the air. But Clyde didn’t stop to admire the aftermath.
In a split second, he dashed upward with his speed that made him into a blur of motion, cutting through the remnants of the explosion. His eyes locked onto the place where Uriel had been hovering just monts ago.
But when he erged on the other side of the explosion she was gone.
Clyde narrowed his eyes, scanning through the glowing embers and smoke. He couldn’t see her through the chaos but he knew better than to assu she had fled.
Then a blade wreathed in searing flas sliced through the air from his side.
Clyde reacted just in ti, twisting his body midair and bringing his Elderglass Sword up to et the attack.
CLANG!
The sheer force behind Uriel’s swing sent him flying several ters to the side, the shockwave from their clash distorting the air around them.
He barely steadied himself before the Archangel moved.
FWOOOSH!
Uriel was already upon him again in an instant, her wings spread wide, her sword raised for another strike.
Their blades t once more, the air igniting with each clash. Sparks flew as divine fire clashed againts the glass-like blade that now absorbing Demon power, making it dark.
Uriel gritted her teeth, her movents relentless and powerful. Yet amid the intensity of battle, she caught sothing unexpected, Clyde was smirking.
Even as he blocked, dodged, and countered, even as her flas roared around him, he looked amused to this whole situation. His smirk was filled with both effort and exhilaration of the battle but it remained.
Uriel’s eyes burned even brighter. "What’s so funny?" she demanded between her attack.
Clyde let out a breath, his smirk widening.
"Seeing you struggle like this. A mighty Archangel, one of the highest beings, fighting with everything you’ve got against soone like , soone who you used to see as re pawn and toys," His voice carried a mocking edge. "It makes want to laugh!"
Uriel’s grip tightened on her sword. Her already-burning fury exploded.
With a furious snarl, she rained down strike after strike, each one heavier, faster, and more violent than the last.
Every swing of her blade unleashed more flas, turning the sky into a storm of divine fire. The pounding force of her attacks crashed into Clyde non-stop, driving him further back with each impact.
But even as the fire raged around him, Clyde didn’t falter. He t every blow with equal intensity, his smirk never fading.
Exhaled slowly, with his smirk fading into sothing far more serious. Clyde know that it was ti.
He reached deep within himself, tapping into the two conflicting forces that resided inside him. The Demon power and Angelic power, both roaring in his soul like caged beasts when he called it.
He had never fully unleashed them at the sa ti before. But now, he wanted to see who was stronger between him and Uriel after he unleash it.
The energy surged within him, rising like an unstoppable tide.
A violent aura burst from his body, sending shockwaves rippling through the air. Darkness and divinity intertwined, a chaotic yet srizing dance of two opposing forces struggling for dominance.
Clyde’s entire form began to glow, his body wreathed in an eerie fusion of abyssal black and celestial golden light.
Uriel suddenly halted in the middle of her swing.
A sharp chill ran down her spine, an instinctual fear crawling into her bones. Her golden eyes widened in shock, then, in horror.
"This... this is stronger than before."
She could feel it. This was different from the power Clyde had displayed before. This was more. Much more.
"How? How could he still be growing stronger? What is he?"
Clyde slowly lifted his gaze to her, his irises gleaming with both abyssal crimson and divine white. A slow and confident smirk returned to his lips.
"My turn."
For too long, he had been on the defensive, taking her attacks, asuring her strength. Now, he would counter.
Clyde attacked with everything he had, his sword a blur of motion. Each swing carried the combined might of both Angel and Demon power—light and darkness rging into sothing overwhelming.
Uriel pushed back, her blazing aura illuminating the heavens like a second sun. Fire burned in the air around her, but despite its intensity, she was struggling.
For the first ti in her existence, she was being overpowered.
Clyde’s relentless assault carved through her defenses. His slashes and thrusts struck true, each one leaving deep gashes across her armor that once impenetrable.
Sparks flew as divine tal cracked, the flawless golden plating now marred with scratches and fractures.
One by one, new wounds appeared on her body. The great Archangel Uriel, whose radiance once stood untouchable, was being torn apart.
"You killed your own followers, Uriel!" Clyde’s voice cut through the battle like a blade, his words striking as fiercely as his attacks.
Uriel’s breath caught.
She faltered for a fraction of a second.
Clyde didn’t let the mont slip away. His sword ca swinging down, slashing across her chest.
"NO!" Uriel scread, her voice filled with denial—but deep down she knew the truth. She had abandoned them. She had left them to die.
And now, she was paying the price.
The force of Clyde’s slash split her armor clean in half, divine tal shattering as his blade bit into her flesh.
A cry of pain ripped from her throat as her body lurched backward. Blood sprayed into the air, golden and bright.
Uriel plumted, her burning wings flickering as she crashed toward the ruined ground below.
Clyde wanted to keep attacking but he sensed sothing coming at him. So he raised his sword and block a sword that flying toward him.
