anwhile, lissa Greenwood was on her way back to the hospital when she sent Gemma Morgan a ssage.

"I’ll be upstairs later, and Cooper will be there too. You and Jaxon hurry up and push for the marriage."

She couldn’t help it, Isabella Ross’s reaction tonight was too unsettling, and she couldn’t put off her relationship with Cooper Coldson any longer.

"Cooper," lissa said, head bowed, her voice low, "I didn’t expect Yolanda to co to today’s family dinner."

"It was Noah’s idea," like Isabella, putting the bla on Noah Coldson.

lissa managed a bitter smile, "Sotis, I really envy Yolanda. Whether it’s grandpa, my elder brother, or my uncle, she can handle them all, unlike , who clumsily fails at everything."

Cooper remained silent.

"Cooper," lissa spoke again, "you won’t despise , will you? I too want to make them happy, but I can’t learn how."

"The person who wants to marry you is ; just be yourself," Cooper said as he parked the car downstairs at the hospital, "Hurry upstairs."

"Cooper, co with ," lissa pleaded, clutching Cooper’s arm, "after my mom woke up, she kept talking about you, and so did my dad, who hasn’t seen you since he ca back."

Cooper hesitated for a mont but then nodded, "Okay."

The two went upstairs together.

"Dad, Mom, Cooper is here to see you," lissa joyfully introduced him.

"Cooper, co and sit," Gemma Morgan looked a bit tired, slowly waving him over.

Only Jaxon sat aside, silent, with a sullen expression.

The Coldson Family was one of the most prominent families in Gray City, and with Cooper being the Patriarch of the Coldson Family, the Greenwoods felt they had reached above their status to have such a son-in-law.

Yet the incident at the birthday banquet had left him quite dissatisfied with Cooper and even made him secretly feel ineffective at protecting his daughter.

Thus, the past year, he had been working exceptionally hard, and when he heard his daughter wanted to return, he painfully left his sick wife to go abroad.

Since his return, lissa often ran to the Coldson Family, yet Cooper had never visited, which upset him.

Jaxon had even lost his temper when he heard Cooper was coming.

"Uncle Greenwood, Aunt Morgan," Cooper approached proactively, "I’ve been very busy with work these days, haven’t had ti to co see you..."

He said this with a glance at Jaxon.

"Why be so formal with us?" Gemma Morgan pulled at Jaxon, signaling with her eyes, "Cooper runs such a big company like the Coldson Group, it’s strange if he isn’t busy."

Jaxon’s expression softened a bit, he coldly said, "Take a seat."

lissa quickly pulled up seats for them.

"You’re the Family Head of the Coldson Family; it’s normal for you to be busy, but even so, there are so things that shouldn’t be delayed," Jaxon went straight to the point.

Gemma Morgan forced a smile on the side, thinking about urging Cooper to divorce; she always felt bad for Yolanda.

"Yes, Uncle Greenwood is right," Cooper’s deanor was sincere, but it was clear he was being noncommittal.

Jaxon’s anger flared up again, "Cooper, our Greenwood Family may not compare to your Coldson Family, but lissa is our only daughter, the apple of our eye..."

"Dad, why are you getting so worked up, you’re scaring Cooper," lissa hadn’t expected Jaxon’s emotions to be so intense.

But then again, who wouldn’t be anxious about marrying into the Coldson Family?

"Don’t speak," Jaxon glared at lissa then turned to Cooper, "Tell , how long do you plan to drag out your situation with lissa?"

"Uncle Greenwood, please be patient, my family is also making preparations," Cooper regretted coming.

"I’m asking you, when do you plan to divorce Yolanda?" Jaxon asked directly.

He had been listening to lissa Greenwood’s complaints ever since he ca back, Yolanda Greenwood was still clinging to Cooper Coldson, and they had not divorced yet.

Jaxon Greenwood felt, however, that Cooper was most to bla. If he had set his mind on divorcing Yolanda, with his family background and ans, how could Yolanda have clung to him?

But he couldn’t say that to his naive daughter.

The gazes of the three instantly converged on Cooper’s face, waiting for him to take a stand.

"I was actually planning to go through with the procedures a few days ago," Cooper admitted, "but then Yolanda suddenly fell ill, and that delayed things..."

"It’s all excuses!" Jaxon grumbled discontentedly.

Gemma Morgan tugged at Jaxon and asked with concern, "Yolanda is sick? What happened?"

She asked and imdiately felt lissa glaring at her.

"She has acute gastroenteritis and was hospitalized for a few days."

"Why do you care about her?" Jaxon frowned, "This girl is clearly playing tricks. Cooper, you’re a man, show so backbone and take so action."

"Co on, Mom and Dad, Cooper ca up to see you, and here you are pressuring him into marriage nonstop. I can’t stand to watch."

lissa knew when to stop, fearing it would backfire if she continued.

She affectionately linked arms with Cooper, "We’ll figure out our own matters, Cooper won’t let down."

"You girl..." Jaxon finally smiled, "You haven’t even married yet, and you’re already turning your back on us."

Gemma absentmindedly said, "lissa, it’s getting late. See Cooper downstairs and let him go back."

"Okay." lissa left with Cooper arm in arm.

No sooner had they left than Gemma pulled out her phone to call Yolanda.

But she called for a while and got no answer.

"That’s strange, why isn’t this child answering the phone; could she already be asleep?"

Jaxon casually asked, "Who are you calling?"

"Yolanda, didn’t Cooper just say she was sick? I wanted to ask..." Before Gemma could try again, Jaxon took the phone from her, "What are you doing?"

She glanced toward the doorway to make sure lissa hadn’t returned and then whispered, "Why don’t you go and see her tomorrow?"

Jaxon looked displeased, "Why do you still bother with that girl? Hasn’t she made you suffer enough?"

He grew angrier as he spoke, "We were so good to her in the past, even willing to believe her after what happened. How did I never realize how heartless she was?"

"What are you talking about?" Gemma couldn’t help feeling upset, for Yolanda had never wronged them.

She never imagined Jaxon’s misunderstanding of the child was so deep.

"Jaxon, regardless of what lissa has told you, I warn you..."

"Mom!" Unexpectedly, lissa ca back at this mont, "Mom, you’re just too kind. Hasn’t Yolanda caused enough tragedy in our family?"

She coquettishly clung to Jaxon’s neck, "I think Dad is right, you should stop worrying about those unnecessary people."

Gemma’s expression changed, she opened her mouth to speak but ultimately lacked the courage to tell the truth.

She slowly lay down, turning her back to father and daughter, "Okay, I’m tired, going to sleep."

Gemma bit her lower lip hard, trying to keep herself from crying out loud, but tears had already begun to flow, and her heart could only keep apologizing to Yolanda repeatedly.

It was hopeless, she couldn’t let this little family fall apart.

She also couldn’t bear to let lissa hurt Jaxon like she had hurt her.
