At four in the afternoon, Noah Coldson arrived punctually, bringing lissa Greenwood back to the Coldson Family ho.
Upon entering, lissa saw Isabella Ross and lissa Greenwood in the living room. She awkwardly nodded a greeting but couldn’t bring herself to call out "Mom."
To her surprise, Isabella didn’t stand up to drive her away.
Knowing that Noah was to thank for this, lissa gave him a grateful smile.
"You should go upstairs first and see Grandpa; Cooper and the others are all up there," Noah led the way upstairs without delay.
With everyone gone, lissa Greenwood lowered her voice and asked Isabella, "How co Yolanda is here?"
"It’s Noah’s idea; he doesn’t support Cooper getting a divorce," Isabella sighed softly.
Actually, she was now sowhat undecided. Cooper appeared very determined when he spoke of the child. If they really kicked out lissa Greenwood, would she end up aborting the baby?
Thinking of this, she asked lissa Greenwood, "lissa... are you and Cooper still intimate?"
lissa’s face changed slightly, "Of course, we love each other; so naturally, there are monts when we can’t help ourselves."
"And... when you two do... that thing, does Cooper use protection?" Isabella coughed lightly, pressing her voice even lower.
"Auntie!" lissa’s face flushed instantly, her voice timid with embarrassnt, "How can you ask that?"
She knew Isabella was focused on the potential for a child, "Cooper he... doesn’t like wearing anything."
Isabella obviously relaxed, reassured that as long as Cooper didn’t take precautions, there was a chance for lissa to conceive.
lissa was closely observing Isabella’s expressions and quickly added, "But don’t worry, Auntie, we’re not married yet, and I’m careful not to let a child happen."
Sure enough, Isabella looked displeased, "If you had a child, who could stop you two from marrying?"
lissa stayed silent. A child? Impossible!
Firstly, she and Cooper Coldson had never slept together, and they hadn’t even kissed; secondly, in Cooper’s eyes, she was the hen that couldn’t lay eggs – a situation that, for now, couldn’t change.
Upstairs, in Old Master Coldson’s room, when lissa entered, she found not only Cooper but also Christopher and a woman she didn’t recognize.
And this woman was the one she had mistaken for Lola Gold at the hospital.
"So you’re Yolanda?" The woman spoke up first, "It seems we are indeed fated to et."
"Do you know each other?" Noah was slightly surprised.
lissa forced a wry smile, "We’ve t once before..."
She glanced at Christopher, who was looking down, "I mistook her for a good friend of mine at the ti."
"A good friend?" Noah caught on quickly, "No wonder. The first ti I saw Lola Gold, I felt like she looked familiar. It turns out she resembles our aunt sowhat."
Aunt?
lissa looked confused.
Noah introduced her with emphasis, "This is Sunny Coldson, my younger uncle’s sister, Cooper and my aunt."
lissa felt her head buzzing, an unbelievable thought bursting forth, and she had to forcibly suppress it, reminding herself not to overthink.
Christoper didn’t look at her, so she turned to Cooper, and indeed, his expression was unnatural.
"The aunt is a girl adopted by Grandfather," Cooper suddenly chid in.
This statent deepened lissa’s suspicions.
After a lively ti with Old Master Coldson, everyone prepared to descend for dinner.
On her way out, lissa caught Christopher.
Once everyone else had gone, she lowered her voice to ask, "What do you an?"
"What do you an?" Christopher appeared a little impatient.
"You haven’t been in touch with Lola lately, what does that an?" lissa was now even more irritated with Christopher, wishing she could punch him.
"Isn’t this what you wanted?" Christopher Coldson sneered, "What’s wrong? Regretting it now?"
Yolanda Greenwood clenched her teeth, "Then bring out the contract and destroy it in front of us."
"Why should I?" Christopher yanked his hand away from Yolanda’s grip and went downstairs first.
Filled with anger, Yolanda followed behind him. As soon as she left the room, she saw Sunny Coldson waiting on the first floor, looking at her with a cool gaze.
After Christopher descended, the two of them left together.
Yolanda felt even more irritated, unable to shake a certain thought from her mind, no matter how hard she tried.
The atmosphere during dinner was relatively harmonious.
Cooper Coldson sat with lissa Greenwood, Christopher with Sunny Coldson, and Yolanda with Noah Coldson.
Throughout, Yolanda’s gaze frequently landed on Christopher and Sunny; she couldn’t help but feel that their closeness was excessive.
And, most precious of all, Isabella Ross still did not initiate any trouble.
On the side, lissa Greenwood was utterly anxious.
After dinner, everyone was ready to leave.
"I’ll take my little aunt back," Christopher spoke up first, in a nonchalant manner.
No one spoke, clearly feeling a bit awkward.
"Then we’ll be leaving now," Sunny nodded to Old Master Coldson and Isabella Ross, following Christopher out.
"Cooper," Old Master Coldson finally began to speak slowly, "you should take..."
"Grandfather, I’ll take lissa back," Cooper interrupted Old Master Coldson’s words.
Old Master Coldson’s face grew even darker.
"Grandfather, I’ll take Yolanda back," Noah spoke up.
"Right, good," Old Master Coldson finally showed a hint of a smile, seeing four of them out.
On her way, Yolanda was distracted.
"Yolanda," Noah started, "you can’t be too anxious about your situation with Cooper, take it slow. Besides, given the circumstances tonight, only Cooper is acquainted with lissa, so only he could take her back."
Clearly, he had misunderstood.
Yolanda smiled, "Don’t worry, big brother. This has happened countless tis, I’ve beco numb to it."
"It’s just... Mom didn’t give a hard ti tonight, thanks to you," she added, expressing her gratitude.
Once again, they fell silent.
"Big brother," Yolanda thought for a mont but couldn’t contain her curiosity, "I’ve been married to Cooper for a year now, how co I’ve never seen my little aunt? I’ve never even heard anyone ntion her."
"Oh." Noah hesitated, glancing at Yolanda, "Why are you so curious about her?"
"It’s nothing," Yolanda smiled, "it’s just that she seems quite similar to Lola, so... I wanted to ask a few more questions."
"It’s really nothing, she’s always been abroad," Noah was obviously hiding sothing.
As far as Yolanda knew, Noah went abroad when he was six, but she could always hear the family talk about him. As for Sunny Coldson, if she hadn’t seen her today, she would’ve never known she existed.
However, since Noah was reluctant to reveal more, Yolanda considerately didn’t press the issue.
But whatever conjectures were in her heart, she just couldn’t dispel them.
Once they arrived at the apartnt, Noah escorted her to the front door.
"Big brother, won’t you co in for a while?"
"No, thanks," Noah shook his head, "You should rest up early, especially you. Take care of yourself and keep yourself plump and healthy."
