When Cooper Coldson woke up again, he found himself in the hospital, and it was already dark outside.

He struggled to sit up, but it startled Yolanda Greenwood, who was sleeping by the bedside.

"You..." Both of them opened their mouths at the sa ti, then simultaneously fell silent, followed by a shared smile.

Yolanda was the first to speak, "You’re finally awake. How do you feel? Do you need to call a doctor to check on you?"

"It’s fine, I feel... pretty good." In fact, it was unprecedentedly good. Cooper never imagined that Yolanda would be keeping watch by his bedside; he wouldn’t have dread of it.

"That’s good." The atmosphere seed slightly awkward, and after thinking for a mont, Yolanda added, "Gabriel and Ella have been brought back, so don’t worry, Professor Seward and Adam Sterling took them out for dinner."

She seed afraid that Cooper would misunderstand and imdiately added, "Oh right, Adrian Sterling has been caught, Adam accused him of his cris, and it looks like the rest of his life will be spent in prison. Adam is doing well too."

"That’s great." Cooper said this with his mouth, but his heart sank bit by bit. He didn’t expect that after waking up, everything seed perfectly resolved.

"Thank you so much for today. If it weren’t for you," Yolanda chuckled bitterly, "Adam might really have killed Adrian, and his life... would have been over."

"It’s nothing." Cooper shook his head, looking steadily into Yolanda’s eyes, "You should know, I did all this for you."

Yolanda lowered her head, not daring to et Cooper’s gaze and unsure of how to respond to his words.

"So..." Cooper’s fist at his side suddenly clenched, and he gave a dry laugh, "So what plans do you all have next?"

"We?" Yolanda wasn’t quite sure what Cooper ant.

Cooper nodded, "Yes, now that Adam is well, are you... really going to marry him? Will you... continue to stay in Gray City?"

"Pfft!" Yolanda burst out laughing, then felt sowhat touched. It turned out Cooper thought she had already chosen to continue being with Adam, and under such circumstances, he saved Adam. This man... truly foolish!

She was just about to explain that she wouldn’t marry Adam when children’s voices ca from outside; it seed Little Gabriel and Little Ella had returned.

"Mom!" Sure enough, the next second, the two little ones ran into the hospital room together.

"Dad!" Little Gabriel was the first to notice that Cooper had woken up and imdiately climbed onto the bed excitedly, "Dad, you’re awake? Are you still in pain?"

Cooper shook his head, "Dad’s fine, it doesn’t hurt anymore."

Little Ella also climbed onto the bed, "Uncle Coldson, my dad said you’re a superhero, you saved him."

Cooper let out a laugh, looking toward the doorway where Adam stood, and the two nodded at each other.

"Alright, you two get down, no roughhousing!" Yolanda patted the little ones’ bottoms, "Don’t touch dad’s wound, get down quickly!"

"Okay!" The two little ones were obedient, climbing down, and stood by the bedside watching Cooper.

Adam watched their family of four, witnessing Yolanda’s concern for Cooper, and knew that so things needed to be concluded.

"Yolanda," he gently patted Yolanda’s arm, "co out for a chat."

"Okay." Yolanda instructed the children with a few words, then asked Serena Seward to watch them, and turned to follow Adam out.

Cooper watched the two leave, his expression sowhat pained.

Serena, however, had long since understood the entanglent between the three, smiling and shaking her head without saying anything.

Yolanda followed Adam into the corridor.

"What’s wrong?" she asked puzzled, "What do you want to say?"

"Yolanda, first of all, I want to apologize to you." Adam stepped back and bowed deeply.

"Adam, what are you doing?" Yolanda took a few steps forward to pull him up, "Adam, what’s wrong with you?"

Adam gave a self-deprecating laugh, "Don’t worry, I’m fine."

His eyes focused intently on Yolanda’s features, wanting to imprint everything about her in his mind, "Yolanda, I am apologizing for the decision three years ago, and the deceit over these three years."

So it was because of this.

Yolanda shook her head, "It’s nothing, it’s all in the past, I don’t care anymore."

"You don’t care because you’re so forgiving, but it’s sothing I must apologize for." Adam indeed felt very sorry, "Especially... recently, I’ve done a lot of wrong things, I’ve hurt you and Ella, I’m truly sorry."

"Adam, don’t say that." Yolanda couldn’t help feeling so heartache, "It’s not your fault."

Adam shook his head, "In any case, the harm I caused you is my problem. Yolanda, I’ve decided to leave."

"Huh?" Yolanda was startled, not expecting Adam to leave, "Why? Isn’t your counseling center already on track, you..."

"I’ve already transferred the counseling center," Adam had actually done many things in one afternoon, "I handed it over to a junior of mine, he should do better than ."

He smiled, "Don’t worry, it’s the professor who happens to have a project that needs hands, I’m going to help her."

"Professor Seward?" Yolanda couldn’t help feeling happy for Adam, "Is it a military project? Can you go back?"

"No, we all have to pay the price for our actions," Adam gave a bitter smile, "I can’t go back to the military, I also can’t live up to the identity of a soldier. The professor’s project is abroad, if it goes well, perhaps the military will introduce it soday."

Clearly, the sense of honor was still in his heart.

"That’s wonderful, Adam, go for it, I believe you can do it!" Yolanda sincerely said.

"Right? I also think I can." Adam was sowhat dazed, as if he’d returned to the past, when he was just Yolanda’s friend, and they trusted each other, speaking freely.

He couldn’t help but think that perhaps if everything could start over, it would be better. He didn’t want to fall in love with Yolanda, he didn’t want... to lose a friend.

"The money from selling the counseling center, part of it to you, another part to Cooper," Adam evidently had everything planned out, "I’ve already owed Cooper enough, I don’t want to owe the money Adrian squandered."

He joked involuntarily, "After all, we were rivals once, I have to save face."

Yolanda smiled and shook her head, imdiately saying, "I don’t care about Cooper’s part, my part, I don’t want it. You know, Heart Island Design is doing well in Gray City, I don’t lack money."

"Consider it for Ella." At the ntion of Little Ella, Adam showed a very reluctant expression, "She called dad for three years, this money... I want to give it to her, just as my wish, okay?"

Yolanda’s eyes instantly reddened, "Then... how should I tell Ella? You... won’t disown her as a daughter, right?"

"How could I?" Adam turned to look out the window, not wanting Yolanda to see his tears, "Just tell Ella that I’m on a mission, as long as she wants, we can always keep in touch."
