The next day, after breakfast, Daisy Dawson went to the hospital again.
"Ella is actually fine, and the results of the last few tests will be out soon, so she should be discharged quickly," Yolanda Greenwood felt grateful. Daisy Dawson really wasn’t at fault for this incident, but the young girl clearly felt very guilty.
"I’m just staying at ho anyway, so it’s nice to co over and see the little one," Daisy Dawson asked tentatively, "By the way, how’s it going?"
Yolanda understood what she was asking about and said with a slight smirk, "I suppose they’re still gathering evidence, as there’s no news yet."
"What about Coldson Group?" Daisy Dawson asked imdiately.
"Coldson Group?" Yolanda frowned, "What news would they have? You’re not expecting that vice-president of yours to have a change of heart and co to apologize, are you?"
So far, not only has that vice-president disappeared without a trace, but even Isaac King has vanished, obviously indicating no one wants to take responsibility.
Daisy Dawson remained silent. It seed Cooper Coldson hadn’t made any moves yet. Hadn’t Assistant Adams inford him? Or was he just not ready to deal with it?
She thought about it and decided to wait another day. Surely Cooper Coldson would take action within a day.
"Don’t worry, I believe there will be results soon," Daisy Dawson said with confidence, playing with Little Ella for a while until Adam Sterling arrived.
"I’ll head back now," she said goodbye to Yolanda and the others, "I’ll co again tomorrow."
Yolanda felt a little embarrassed, "Daisy, you really don’t have to co every day. Aren’t you job hunting?"
"Yeah, I’ve sent out resus, but so far, there’s no reply. I’ll take it slow," The young girl was optimistic.
After seeing off Daisy Dawson, Yolanda returned to the ward. After the argunt with Adam Sterling yesterday, the two hadn’t spoken, making the atmosphere sowhat awkward.
Adam Sterling glanced at her and spoke first, "I just called the police station, and they said Coldson Group is blaming Isaac King entirely, but now they can’t reach Isaac King and asked us to notify them if there are any updates."
"This is utterly despicable," Yolanda scoffed, "This matter was clearly caused by that vice-president. Just because he’s related to Cooper Coldson, he can stand aside?"
Adam Sterling was sowhat helpless, "It seems now that even if we want to sue, we can only sue Isaac King. As for that vice-president..."
He looked at Yolanda and sighed, "I’m afraid there’s really nothing we can do with him."
Yolanda was not convinced, her tone becoming more intense, "Why can’t we do anything? Doesn’t Isaac King have a mouth? Besides, there’s Daisy. These things, she also had Daisy involved. They can all testify that the vice-president is the real culprit."
"Yolanda, Daisy is job hunting. Would it affect her if she helps testify?"
"What? Does Coldson Group have the final say in Gray City, with no regard for the law?" Yolanda grew increasingly angry, "I must make that vice-president pay."
"Alright, I support you." Adam Sterling’s words were clearly lacking strength.
"No need," Yolanda turned and left again. She felt that Adam Sterling only verbally supported her but actually opposed what she was doing, thinking she wasn’t being rational. But was she really wrong?
Clearly, the person who was wrong was that vice-president. Just because he’s backed by Coldson Group and is related to Cooper Coldson, he doesn’t have to take responsibility for his mistakes?
Yolanda sat on the corridor bench, feeling quite upset.
"Dad, you made mom angry again!" Little Ella puffed up, looking displeased with Adam Sterling.
"Yes, what should I do? I’ve said the wrong thing again." Adam Sterling regretted it. He knew Yolanda’s stubborn nature. His so-called hidden rules didn’t work for her.
"Oh, dad’s so dumb." Little Ella shook her head, "I’ll help dad make it up to mom later, but dad can’t make mom angry again."
"Thank you, Ella." Adam Sterling gently pinched the little one’s nose.
Yolanda sat in the corridor for a while and then heard Little Ella calling her from inside, so she imdiately got up and went in.
"What is it, Ella?"
"Mom, hug ." Little Ella stretched out her arms, acting spoiled.
Yolanda glanced at Adam Sterling sitting beside and took a few steps forward to pick up the little one, "Alright, mom will hug."
"Mom, don’t be mad at dad," Little Ella leaned against Yolanda’s neck, "Dad already knows he’s wrong."
Yolanda looked at Adam Sterling, who appeared pitiful, and shook her head helplessly, "Mom isn’t mad, and it’s not all dad’s fault. Mom also did sothing wrong."
Actually, she knew in her heart that perhaps it was just her nature, or maybe because she had lost so many mories, many of her ideas and insistences seed sowhat naive. They had quarreled over this before.
So what was the result? Adam Sterling was right most of the ti, but she always felt it shouldn’t be like this. She always wanted to prove the world should be black and white, even if it was just one successful ti.
"Yolanda," Adam Sterling stood up, taking Little Ella in his arms, "In this matter, I truly support you. I just don’t want..."
"I know, you fear I’ll be disappointed again," Yolanda lowered her head with a bitter smile, "I’m not afraid. I want to try."
"Alright." Adam Sterling looked at Little Ella, "Our Ella should be brave just like mom."
"Uh-huh." Little Ella nodded her head firmly, "Ella wants to be the bravest baby."
Yolanda chuckled softly and looked at Adam Sterling again, "Actually, I’ve also considered the matter you just brought up, about Daisy testifying..."
She paused, "I want Daisy to join my company."
"Have you decided to stay in Gray City?" Adam Sterling subconsciously tightened his grip on Little Ella, "Are you planning to open a branch here?"
"Not necessarily. I’ll ask Daisy when she arrives tomorrow. If not in Gray City, would she be willing?" Yolanda frowned, "As for whether to stay in Gray City, I’ll think about it."
If it weren’t for Gabriel, she might not consider staying any longer, but things were different now. She didn’t want to separate the two kids and didn’t want to be too far from Little Gabriel.
"Okay, no matter what you decide, I’ll support you." Adam Sterling quietly exhaled a breath of relief.
Little Ella imdiately chid in, "I’ll support you too."
Sure enough, early the next morning, Daisy Dawson ca again. After so small talk, she asked about the progress of the incident.
"Why are you so anxious?" Yolanda couldn’t help but laugh, "Yesterday, my husband called; they said they couldn’t contact Isaac King for now, so we’ll just have to wait for more news."
Daisy Dawson frowned, "And Coldson Group? Still pretending nothing happened?"
"Yes, what else?" Yolanda sneered, "No, they’re not pretending nothing happened. They’re shifting all the bla onto Isaac King, trying to stay clear of it all."
"What about Cooper Coldson? Hasn’t he contacted you?" Daisy Dawson blurted out.
