At this mont, Cooper Coldson and Richard Reyes also arrived.
"President Coldson, Captain Reyes is over there." Richard Reyes lifted his foot to head over, but realized Cooper Coldson hadn’t followed him.
He turned back and asked, "President Coldson, co on, let’s go over there?"
"Forget it, Yolanda’s over there. She... probably really doesn’t want to see ." Cooper Coldson sighed deeply. "Why don’t you just call Captain Reyes over here."
"Alright, I’ll go right away." Richard Reyes wanted to comfort Cooper, but didn’t know what to say.
Shaking his head, he ran off to find Captain Reyes. "Our President Coldson has arrived. Captain Reyes, co over with for a bit."
"Alright, let’s go." Captain Reyes was sweating profusely, clearly aware that the identity of the child being held hostage today was no small matter—so much so that even the richest man in Gray City had personally co.
Richard hesitated before greeting Yolanda Greenwood, "Miss Yolanda!"
"Assistant Reyes," Yolanda was pulled from her thoughts and took a few steps forward. "Assistant Reyes, what you’ve been through must have been tough."
Richard shook his head. "It’s alright. Being alive is already the greatest stroke of luck."
He glared fiercely in the Greenwood Family’s direction. "It’s just a pity that she managed to seize an opportunity, but she won’t escape this ti. The fact that I’m alive ans there is justice in this world."
"Hm." Yolanda nodded.
Richard hesitated before saying, "Our President Coldson has arrived too. He’s over there. He was afraid you wouldn’t want to see him, so... he didn’t dare co over."
Yolanda’s expression shifted briefly; she didn’t even want to hear Cooper’s na right now. "Anything regarding him has nothing to do with ."
"Miss Yolanda, I know our president has wronged you in the past, but this incident..." Richard’s voice carried pain. "He’s feeling just as hurt as you are, Miss Yolanda. If possible..."
"Assistant Reyes, as I said earlier: his matters are none of my concern, and I don’t want to hear about them." Yolanda’s gaze was cold as she looked toward the Greenwood Family. "If Assistant Reyes has nothing else to say, then kindly leave."
"Alright, Miss Yolanda, then I’ll head over now." Richard sighed deeply and left alongside Captain Reyes.
On their way, Captain Reyes hesitated before asking, "Yolanda is the child’s mother, and Cooper is the child’s... father?"
"Yes." Assistant Reyes nodded. "That’s why this child must be rescued—and rescued without a scratch."
"Absolutely, absolutely!" Captain Reyes promised repeatedly.
When they reached Cooper Coldson, Captain Reyes proactively greeted him, "President Coldson, you’re here."
Every year, Coldson Group donated a significant amount of money and materials to their law enforcent system. In a way, the city’s defense forces had Coldson Group to thank as one of their contributors.
Captain Reyes imdiately briefed Cooper on the situation and reassured him, "President Coldson, rest assured; we will do everything we can to ensure the young master’s safety."
Cooper nodded. "Thank you. Please keep inford of any developnts as soon as possible."
"Will do." Captain Reyes thought for a mont and requested a walkie-talkie from soone, handing it to Cooper. "President Coldson, please take this so you can stay updated on any situation promptly."
Glancing in the direction of Noah Coldson and Yolanda Greenwood, Captain Reyes said, "This operation is being fully led by your brother, Captain Coldson. I need to return to assist."
"Alright, thank you. Please go ahead." Cooper bowed slightly to express his gratitude.
Both Cooper and Coldson Group held profound respect for these law enforcent officers and judicial workers, showing not the slightest sign of overstepping any boundaries.
Just as Captain Reyes returned to Noah Coldson’s side, lissa Greenwood erged holding Little Gabriel.
"They’re coming out, they’re coming out!" A wave of commotion instantly rippled through the scene.
Captain Reyes picked up a gaphone, "lissa Greenwood, hand over the hostage imdiately. This will be your wisest choice."
"Cut the crap!" lissa retorted sharply, holding Little Gabriel in one arm while wielding a sharp fruit knife in the other, pressing it next to his neck.
"Ahhhhh!" Yolanda nearly fainted at the sight.
"I know there are plenty of sniper rifles aid at right now, but let tell all of you sothing," lissa sneered coldly. "Even if I’m shot dead, I’ll make sure this little brat cos down with ."
"No, no." Yolanda shook her head repeatedly.
Captain Reyes’ expression shifted as he spoke into the walkie-talkie in a low voice, "The hostage is in danger. Without orders from Captain Coldson, no one is allowed to shoot."
"Give the gaphone." Noah Coldson took it, raised his voice, and said, "lissa Greenwood, do you really think taking Gabriel will allow you to escape? Think carefully; where can you run to?"
"Now, it’s not just Gray City—it’s the entire country. Every place already knows your cris. You can’t escape, and if you harm Gabriel, it will only add to your charges!"
lissa smiled nonchalantly. "Big Bro, do you think I’m stupid? Even if I don’t harm Gabriel, are my cris any less serious? Can I still survive? Since I can’t live anyway, why not gamble once?"
Scanning the innurable police cars in front of her, she took a deep breath and said, "Listen, I want 500 thousand in cash within one hour, and a week’s worth of food and water. Oh, and as for this little brat’s provisions—you can handle that however you want. Let him starve or whatever, it’s up to you."
She didn’t give Noah a chance to respond further, retreating indoors with Little Gabriel.
Closing the door, lissa used the cold blade of the knife to tap Little Gabriel’s face lightly. "Little guy, tell —do you think we can leave alive?"
In Little Gabriel’s big eyes, there was no trace of fear toward the knife. He even extended his delicate little hands as if trying to grab it.
lissa hurriedly pulled the knife away, staring at him in shock. "You really aren’t afraid of dying, huh!"
Outside, lissa’s demands were heard. Cooper imdiately gave his orders to Richard. "Go, tell them."
"Alright." Richard turned and ran to Yolanda and the others. "We’ll prepare those items."
Noah Coldson looked at Yolanda. "I think it’s doable. Gathering 500 thousand in cash at once isn’t easy; it’ll be tough for us to manage."
"I’ll handle Gabriel’s provisions myself," Yolanda said imdiately.
"Miss Yolanda, from what I know, young Master Gabriel has always been raised at the ancestral ho. I can call them right now and have them send his things over imdiately."
Lola Gold chid in to persuade her, "Yolanda, children’s skin and digestion are delicate. You don’t know what brands Gabriel has been using. Sudden changes, coupled with the ongoing fright, might easily make him sick."
Yolanda’s eyes reddened as she stared blankly. "What can I do? Let do sothing. Just waiting like this—I’m about to lose my mind."
Noah knew Yolanda’s mood was extrely unstable at the mont, so he nodded toward Richard. "Assistant Reyes, hurry and make the preparations. I leave it to you."
"Alright, I’ll get on it right away." Richard hurried off.
At this mont, Captain Reyes suddenly muttered curiously, "Is the young master very familiar with lissa Greenwood? Just now when she brought him out, I couldn’t detect any fear on his face."
