"Cooper, Cooper..." Isabella Ross kept calling Cooper Coldson’s na over and over again. She couldn’t shake the feeling that he was caught in so kind of trance-like madness.

Cooper didn’t look at her. Instead, he laughed bitterly, "I always thought I had everything under control, believed that nothing could escape my eyes. And what happened? Reality proved just how pathetically stupid I am."

"President Coldson, it’s not like that, it’s not like that." Richard Reyes chid in, anxious as well.

"I actually had the audacity to hope Yolanda Greenwood would forgive . I even fantasized about starting over with her. Hahaha..." Cooper laughed to himself, so hard tears stread down his face. "I’m so foolish, so arrogantly blind."

His laughter abruptly stopped. "Everything that’s happened to is my own fault. I brought this upon myself."

"Cooper, pull yourself together!" Isabella Ross couldn’t stand it anymore. She raised her hand and slapped him across the face. "Things have already co to this! Do you think wallowing in self-pity here will solve anything?"

Forcing back her tears, her voice trembled as she said, "Didn’t you promise Yolanda you’d save Little Gabriel? Save the kid first, and the rest... we’ll figure it out later."

Isabella thought to herself, as long as they showed sincerity and genuinely apologized to Yolanda, she might forgive them.

After all, Gabriel and Ella were Yolanda’s children. Blood ties couldn’t be severed, and family couldn’t truly be torn apart.

So as long as they rescued Gabriel, there was still hope. Everything could be fixed.

Cooper froze for a mont before finally snapping back to reality. "You’re right. Rescue him. Rescue Gabriel. I have to save him."

He turned and hurriedly took a step forward but nearly stumbled, as if the entire world was conspiring against him at this mont.

Isabella’s face was full of worry.

"Madam, don’t worry. I’ll keep an eye on President Coldson," Richard Reyes reassured Isabella before quickly chasing after Cooper.

Once everyone had left, the massive hall was empty, leaving Isabella Ross alone.

This was supposed to be an unprecedentedly grand wedding. But who could have imagined it would end in such a real and haunting tragedy?

Isabella looked around the room. As things stood now, she bore so of the responsibility too.

She had known for a long ti that lissa Greenwood wasn’t a good person, but she thought lissa’s tactics were rely to win over Cooper’s heart. She never imagined lissa could be so unhinged.

If she had accepted Yolanda from the start, would things have been different?

But reality was cruel. There were no "ifs," and nothing could be undone.

Isabella wasn’t a weak woman, but she hadn’t been born strong either. She had stumbled and fought her way to where she was today.

Her expression quickly turned firm and icy again. It was clear Cooper couldn’t hold up any longer. No matter. Even if she was the only one left standing, the Coldson Family would never fall.

She left the hall and got into the car.

The driver glanced at her nervously. "Madam, should we head ho?"

"To the office," Isabella said, lowering her head as she ripped the flower off her chest and disdainfully threw it out of the window.

"Understood." The car headed straight toward the Coldson Group headquarters.

After lissa Greenwood returned to the Greenwood Family ho with Little Gabriel, the first thing she did was rush upstairs. Her addiction had resurfaced.

She placed Little Gabriel on the bed and rummaged for her stash, quickly opening it and inhaling.

Everything that had happened today felt like a nightmare. Soon, vivid hallucinations appeared before lissa’s eyes. She saw Cooper Coldson yelling at her. She saw Yolanda Greenwood mocking her. Everyone around her was laughing at her.

Her hatred consud her, driving her mad. But soon, the hallucinations shifted into beautiful fantasies.

She saw Cooper greedily staring at her, impatiently pulling off her clothes, losing himself in her as he vented his emotions.

"Ah, ah, ah..."

After reaching a climax, lissa Greenwood quickly ca back to her senses. She noticed her hand had strayed downward and imdiately withdrew it in embarrassnt.

Outside, the sound of a loudspeaker echoed, "lissa Greenwood, you are surrounded. Surrender the hostage imdiately. Surrender the hostage imdiately."

"Damn it!" lissa sprang up and glanced at the quiet Little Gabriel lying on the bed. A hint of puzzlent flashed in her eyes.

She first went to wash her hands, then changed out of her wedding dress, before returning to the bedroom.

On the bed, Little Gabriel remained silent. His large eyes stared at the ceiling—neither curious nor expressing any emotion.

lissa thought back and recalled that the only ti Gabriel cried was when she grabbed him, but since then, he had shown no reaction.

Finding it odd, she picked Little Gabriel up and held him in her arms.

"Hey?" she shouted gruffly. "Look at . Do you recognize ?"

The little boy looked her way but still showed no reaction, neither crying nor fussing.

"I’m telling you, your parents are no good, and neither are you!" lissa was furious and pinched Little Gabriel’s face hard, but to her surprise, he still didn’t cry.

"What’s wrong with this kid?" She felt an inexplicable fear and quickly placed the child back on the bed before beginning to pack her things.

She had to leave. If she got caught, it would an certain death.

The first thing lissa packed was her stash of white powder. The last tiny bit she had left had just been used up, so she pulled out a whole new stash she had hidden deep in the cabinet.

Thankfully, she had brought back a lot during her ti in the United States. She wouldn’t have to worry for a while.

She buried the stash deep at the bottom of her bag, followed by so clothes.

Halfway through packing, she realized she also needed cash, food, and water. Otherwise, she wouldn’t get far.

She planned to demand those things from the people outside once she was ready.

anwhile, Yolanda Greenwood and the others had arrived outside the Greenwood Family ho and imdiately went to et Captain Reyes, who was in charge of the operation.

"What’s the situation inside? Is my child okay?" Yolanda asked worriedly.

"The child should still be safe for now. The suspect hasn’t made any moves since entering with him," Captain Reyes reassured her gently. "Don’t worry, we’ll ensure the hostage’s safety."

"What does she want?" Yolanda’s mind was a whirlwind. "The child is so young. What does she intend to do to him?"

"Miss Greenwood, the suspect abducted your son most likely to use him as leverage to escape. She’s committed too many cris and knows that if she’s caught, the death penalty is inevitable," Captain Reyes explained, doing his best to reassure her. "So for now, the child is safe. We’re waiting for her to co out."

Noah Coldson handed his phone over to Captain Reyes.

"Hmm?" Captain Reyes accepted the phone in confusion. When he answered, he realized it was the chief of police on the other end. "Yes, sir. Understood. We’ll fully cooperate with Colonel Noah. Don’t worry, we’ll get the job done."

After hanging up, he respectfully returned the phone to Noah. "You’re a colonel? It’s an honor to et you!"

It was his first ti eting a colonel, and Captain Reyes was visibly nervous.

"Captain Reyes, this child is of utmost importance. For this operation, you must coordinate with to ensure the safe rescue of the child," Noah said with furrowed brows. "And call Captain Coldson."
