Brooks Parker was almost shocked into immobility; lissa Greenwood’s words felt like another heavy blow.

Everything from his past, and the na May—it all seed so ridiculous at that mont, even making him laugh through his tears.

"lissa Greenwood, oh lissa Greenwood," he laughed so hard he couldn’t straighten up, "how jealous you must be of Yolanda Greenwood?"

"Cut the crap," said lissa seriously, "jealous of her? She’s not worthy."

She crossed her arms, a look of triumph on her face, "I’ve stolen her parents, her husband, what does she have left for to be jealous of?"

"Yes, ’stolen’ is the perfect word," Brooks no longer smiled; he looked at lissa with sympathy, "because you know very well that those things belong to her."

"Brooks Parker!" lissa was touched a sore spot and exploded, "Don’t act all high and mighty here; what a top student, you’re just a fool, a coward."

She sneered, "Dare to tell Yolanda about your little sches?"

"In the past, because of Cooper Coldson, you didn’t dare, and now? Yolanda is about to beco a single mom, what a great opportunity, do you dare now?" lissa challenged Brooks.

"lissa, you’re wrong, it’s not that I don’t dare, I’m not worthy," shrugged Brooks nonchalantly, "I’m aware of my limits."

lissa gritted her teeth with hatred, "Brooks Parker, I really don’t understand you; you keep May by your side, and she has such a deep bond with Yolanda, doesn’t that offer you an opportunity?"

Brooks hadn’t expected lissa to suggest this as a way of convincing him to give up.

He refused categorically, "Enough, I’m not changing my mind about this."

"But Cooper Coldson completely disagrees," lissa said excitedly, "I tried to feel him out last night; he does not agree to adopt the child, I can’t bring May over to ."

"Convincing Cooper is your concern," Brooks remained firm.

"Brooks Parker, how about this?" lissa continued to plead, "I’ll send you money regularly; you can raise May yourself. Wouldn’t that be better? After all these years you’ve raised her, can you bear to part with her?"

She lowered her voice, "And don’t worry, I’ll give you enough money to live a worry-free life, plus, you can continue to indulge in that stuff."

"lissa, how can you be so evil?" Brooks was incredulous, "You know if I continue, there will only be one outco, death."

He had actually figured it out long ago, "Once I’m gone, May will end up in a children’s ho, and her life might truly be ruined."

lissa threw caution to the wind, "I don’t care; I can’t look after May anyway, just leave her with Yolanda. Yolanda cares about her, and she cares about Yolanda, doesn’t she?"

"How can you be so selfish, lissa?" Brooks finally couldn’t hold back any longer and burst out, "Does Yolanda owe you anything? Why should she raise your child?"

"..." lissa paused for a mont, then retorted, "I’ve already given you father and daughter five million; I don’t owe you anything."

"Fine, have it your way; if you don’t co to pick up May in a week, we’re going to see Cooper Coldson." Brooks couldn’t be bothered to argue further and left.

"They all deserve to die!" lissa was furious.

After Brooks returned, he t Yolanda and told her Cooper Coldson disagreed.

"Maybe we should just drop it," Brooks hesitated again, "If Cooper never agrees, May won’t have happy days there. Might be better if I think of sothing else."

"No worries, leave this matter to ," Yolanda offered proactively, "In a few days, I’ll et with Cooper Coldson."

"You..." Brooks looked at Yolanda’s stomach, "This child... it’s Cooper’s, right?"

After spending a few days together, Yolanda had also co to see Brooks as a friend, so she nodded, "Yes, but Cooper doesn’t know, and I don’t want him to know."

"Why?" Brooks could barely comprehend, "You’re carrying the Coldson Group heir. Do you realize the significance of that? Even though I’ve always lived in M-country, I know how powerful the Coldson Group is. Yolanda, you have no reason not to tell Cooper."

"We’re about to get a divorce," Yolanda made a bitter smile, "If he finds out, I might not be able to keep the child."

She reiterated to Brooks, "He really might not like kids that much, but don’t worry, he’s not the type to abuse them."

Yolanda recalled visiting the orphanage with Cooper Coldson; back then, he didn’t particularly dislike children; he just lacked a bit of patience. Yolanda believed, in the end, he would definitely co to like May.

"But if..." at this mont, Brooks’ mindset underwent a great shift, "If Cooper knew of lissa’s actions, would he still divorce you?"

He suddenly felt that Yolanda’s decision was quite foolish.

"I’ve made up my mind," Yolanda said firmly, "I have to divorce him. In fact, we’ve already filed for divorce, and in a few days, we’ll go to get the divorce certificate."

"Alright then," Brooks still felt he couldn’t understand, "if you change your mind, let know at any ti."

"Senior Brother Brooks, don’t worry, I won’t change my mind," assured Yolanda with a nod.

That evening, Yolanda sent a ssage to Cooper Coldson.

"In a few days, do you want to go back to the country with to get the certificate?"

When Cooper Coldson received the ssage, he frowned, "Which day? Which flight?"

Yolanda quickly checked and sent the details to Cooper Coldson.

In just a few minutes, she received the flight information, even for first class.

"I didn’t ask you to buy the ticket for , how much? I’ll transfer it to you."

Cooper Coldson didn’t reply.

Yolanda sent another ssage, "Leah Diaz might go back with , can you get another ticket? I’ll give you the money for it too."

"Send her ID information," was Cooper Coldson’s prompt reply.

"Will send it later."

Yolanda left the room and saw Leah Diaz sitting despairingly on the sofa.

"How is it?" She gave Leah Diaz Dr. Sterling’s number to contact directly, "Any news from Dr. Sterling?"

Leah Diaz looked up, her eyes devoid of any sparkle, "Little Wood isn’t in the ICU."

"He’s out of the ICU?" Yolanda couldn’t help feeling happy.

"No, he..." Leah Diaz bit her lip hard before she could speak, "he was never admitted, there was no surgery."

What?

Yolanda was so shocked she was speechless.

"They’ve been deceiving all along," Leah Diaz trembled with fury, "making continuously send money, saying it was for Little Wood’s dical treatnt, for surgery, all lies."

Yolanda felt a chill down her spine, "How can this be? Then... where is Little Wood?"

"I don’t know, I have no idea," Leah Diaz shook all over, "I need to go back to the country, I need to go back imdiately."
