Cooper Coldson was feeling sowhat restless.
On the recent call, he knew exactly why he had agreed to this dinner, and he knew lissa Greenwood would be hurt, yet he still stayed and hid it from lissa Greenwood.
And all of this was completely without thinking, a reflex of his body.
He must be crazy, doing this for a woman pregnant with soone else’s child.
He didn’t know what he was thinking.
When Cooper returned to the private dining room, the dishes were almost all served.
Candy called everyone to start eating, "Let’s eat, especially Yolanda, you must be starving since you’re eating for two."
"She’s not eating for two, she’s eating for three," Leah Diaz reminded with a smile.
"Really? Twins?" Candy was particularly surprised, "Then that’s doubly good fortune."
She asked Yolanda, curious, "Speaking of which, did the father of the child agree to you coming here alone? After all, it’s quite hard."
Yolanda clenched her chopsticks montarily, then forced a smile, "He agreed."
With Cooper there, the father of the child was Noah Coldson.
"Didn’t he want to co along?" Candy asked with a smile.
"He said he would, but his work is quite special, not suitable for running around," Yolanda said, looking down, "I didn’t let him co."
Candy didn’t pry further and exchanged a knowing smile with Leah, saying Yolanda was lucky.
"President Coldson," Leah then looked towards Cooper, "Thank you so much for the flats today."
Cooper was expressionless, "You’re welco."
"President Coldson, you ca with your fiancée this ti, right?" Candy had obviously done her howork, "Your relationship seems really good, I heard you’re planning a wedding."
"Yes," Cooper responded.
"Then congratulations in advance," Candy raised her glass.
Leah and Yolanda also quickly raised their glasses to join in a toast to Cooper.
However, Cooper looked at Yolanda, with a aningful tone, "The main issue is that the divorce from my ex-wife is not finalized, not sure when I can have another wedding."
Cooper’s divorce was sothing of a rumor in the M-country financial circle, but it was after all a personal matter, not a cause for celebration, so he wouldn’t bring it up and others naturally wouldn’t prod.
Unexpectedly, he brought it up himself.
The atmosphere beca awkward for a mont, especially for Yolanda, who wished there was a hole she could crawl into.
"So, might as well wish a smooth divorce," fortunately, Cooper picked up his glass in ti, ending this extrely uncomfortable mont.
Afterward, everyone chatted casually, and the al quickly ended.
After saying goodbye to Cooper and Candy, Yolanda and Leah shared a taxi back to the apartnt.
On the way, Leah was full of doubts, "Why do I feel like President Coldson kept stealing glances at you?"
"Stealing glances at ?" Yolanda quickly shook her head in denial, "Don’t talk nonsense, I’m a pregnant woman with a big belly, why would he sneak peeks at ?"
"Really, and it really was sneaking, so you didn’t notice," Leah thoughtfully touched her chin, "I guess Candy noticed too."
"How is that possible?" Yolanda still didn’t believe, convinced they were mistaken.
However, seeing Cooper today was really a surprise to her.
After getting back to the apartnt, she saw Little May was locked in the house, and so, Yolanda opened the door and took her upstairs.
Not far from the downstairs apartnt door, Noah got out of the car, looking at the lights upstairs while smoking, obviously hesitating about sothing.
"Go up and see," Adam Sterling, sitting inside the car, urged him, "You’ve co to look so many tis, I’m anxious for you."
Noah didn’t say a word, watched for a while longer, then finally stubbed out his cigarette and got back in the car.
"Let’s go back."
Even Adam, a psychologist, couldn’t understand this behavior.
As he started the car, he said exasperatedly, "You really want to be an unknown admirer, huh? I’m telling you, you won’t gain anything by acting like this."
Noah looked out the car window, "As long as I can confirm she’s alright."
"Whatever!" Adam didn’t want to deal with it.
They drove past a stretched luxury car; Noah felt it looked familiar but didn’t think much of it.
anwhile, inside the luxury car, Cooper sat with his legs crossed, commanding coldly, "Let’s go."
He had followed Yolanda and the others back, and had seen Noah, so Yolanda had lied at the dinner gathering; the baby’s father had co as well.
He chuckled bitterly, the two really were inseparable.
However, less than ten minutes after Cooper left, another taxi stopped downstairs at the apartnt, and soon Brooks Parker and lissa Greenwood got out of the car.
Brooks was clearly drunk and excitedly wrapped his arm around lissa, "Let’s go, ho!"
lissa endured her nausea and didn’t push him away.
She had already contacted soone, planning to get rid of Brooks and that wretched thing; she had co today to scope out the place.
The two of them went upstairs, one after the other, Brooks opened the door, leading lissa inside.
May wasn’t there.
Brooks said with a smile, "She’s probably upstairs. Let tell you, the two ladies up there really like our May."
He pounced, falling on top of lissa, "Do you want to go pick up May with ? It’s a good chance for to introduce you to them."
lissa certainly didn’t want to, none of the reason she was there, nor getting to know Brooks’ acquaintances, was sothing she hoped anyone would know about.
"I’m tired, feeling a bit dizzy, you go ahead," lissa said, pushing Brooks away with disdain.
Brooks kissed her, "Then why don’t we work out a bit first, and then go pick up May?"
As he spoke, his hands began to stray.
lissa was about to go insane, this man was always led by his libido, couldn’t he see what kind of trash he was, how did she end up with soone like him?
She stood up from the sofa and spoke very seriously, "Brother Brooks, stop it, I want to see May, you go quickly."
Brooks could barely accept this reason.
"Alright, no rush, we’ll have plenty of ti in the future." He dragged his body up the stairs, step by step, and knocked on the door.
Yolanda opened it.
"May, ti to go ho," Brooks called out loudly, squinting at Yolanda, "Your mommy’s back."
"Really? That’s great," Yolanda turned around to call Little May.
Soon, Little May ca out, "Is mommy really back?"
"Yeah, let’s go, don’t keep mommy waiting," Brooks said as he was leaving, and provocatively towards Yolanda, "So ti, I’ll introduce you to her mom, you guys should have a lot to talk about."
Yolanda watched them leave, then went back to start preparing dinner with Leah.
She ntioned that May’s mother had co back.
"Really?" Leah couldn’t believe it.
"It should be true, I saw the man was very happy, he even drank," Yolanda shrugged, "Anyway, there’s no need to lie about this."
Leah nodded thoughtfully, "I’m actually quite curious about what her mother looks like."
Yolanda didn’t know whether to laugh or cry, she had long realized that Leah was very nosy.
"Let’s do this, we’ll make a nice al, and I’ll take so downstairs," Leah suggested, her curiosity reaching its peak.
