Cooper subconsciously turned his head to look at Yolanda.
"I’m really sorry about last ti; sothing ca up and I couldn’t make it," Yolanda sincerely apologized, "I’m truly sorry for the inconvenience I caused you."
The staff mber looked at Cooper again.
A flash of hurt crossed Cooper’s eyes. He quickly looked down and said nothing.
The staff mber was slightly surprised; she could clearly feel that the mood between the two was different from last ti.
After confirming with them again, she let them sign and stamp the papers, reminding them to co back in thirty days to collect their divorce certificates.
They both got up to leave together, not having exchanged a single word from beginning to end.
Leaving the Civil Affairs Office, Yolanda quickly caught up to Noah’s side, "It’s done, let’s get going. Are you freezing?"
She tilted her face upward, looking at Noah with a smile in her eyes.
Cooper froze at the doorway, his blood seemingly turning to ice.
"Cooper, we’ll be heading out first," Noah nodded at Cooper and left with Yolanda.
From Cooper’s perspective, Noah shielded Yolanda in front of him; the two looked... inseparable.
He found it hard to breathe.
"Let’s go, Cooper," lissa pretended not to notice Cooper’s expression, affectionately took his arm, and they got into the car.
On the road, she said with a light laugh, "I heard from my brother that they’re getting married."
Cooper was startled, nearly causing a rear-end collision. He slamd on the brakes, both of them looking unsettled.
After calming down, lissa turned to Cooper with tears in her eyes, "Cooper, you regret it, don’t you? You... for Yolanda..."
"No!" Cooper gripped the steering wheel tightly, instantly denying it.
But lissa wasn’t about to let it go, "Cooper, wake up, Yolanda is already having my brother’s child, and they’re about to get married. Don’t be foolish, alright?"
"I already said no!" Cooper turned and roared at lissa.
lissa found it laughable and cruelly asked, "No what? I didn’t say anything; what are you so eager to deny?"
Cooper’s hands on the steering wheel tightened even more, his veins bulging.
His face turned frightening as he started the car, "No matter what you’re talking about, I’ll finalize the divorce with Yolanda as soon as possible and marry you. You need not inquire about anything else."
lissa looked out the window, forcefully holding back her tears.
She truly loved Cooper, and she felt very sad.
anwhile, Noah was moved by lissa’s suggestion and couldn’t help trying to gauge Yolanda’s intentions.
"Yolanda, do you have any plans after the divorce?"
"Plans?" Yolanda thought for a mont, "To take good care of the kids, to provide them the best of everything, to make it up to them."
"Anything else?"
"Anything else?" Yolanda couldn’t think of anything but smiled, "Anything else, we’ll take it one step at a ti. I don’t have the energy to think too much right now."
Noah nodded, then asked persistently, "Will you get married again?"
"Ah?" Yolanda laughed outright, "Big brother, I just ca out of the Civil Affairs Office, and you’re asking this?"
She understood Noah’s aning and glanced at him, "It’s like asking if I’ve just climbed out of one pit, whether I want to jump into another. What do you think?"
She didn’t want to lead Noah on.
"Indeed. Marriage is no child’s play, there’s no hurry to think about it when we have more ti later," Noah said, finding an excuse to step back.
The two of them agreed to visit the old man back at the family ho together.
Once there, Yolanda greeted Isabella and noticed so hostility from her.
Feeling it strange, Yolanda quickly went upstairs.
Noah went to Isabella’s room.
"You’re hurt?" Isabella looked anxious, "What happened? How serious is it?"
"It’s nothing," Noah was distracted.
"What do you an ’nothing’?" Isabella was clearly dissatisfied, "Did you get hurt protecting Yolanda?"
"Mom!" Noah was sowhat helpless, "Who told you that? Cooper?"
"Don’t worry about who told ," Isabella clenched her teeth, "This Yolanda, really, it’s not that I want to deliberately target her, but look, she just ended things with Cooper and now she’s here to wreak... "
"Mom!" Noah cut off Isabella’s words, "The criminal was after . If anyone’s to bla, I’m the one who brought trouble to Yolanda."
"Really?" Isabella was skeptical.
"Why would I lie to you?" Noah shook his head, "Right, Yolanda started feeling the baby move these past days."
Isabella’s eyes lit up, muttering to herself, "Four months, indeed it’s about ti for the baby to start moving."
"Mom, there’s sothing I’ve been thinking about for a long ti," Noah’s eyes shone eagerly as he looked at Isabella.
Isabella suddenly beca guarded and her smile faded, "What are you planning to do? Noah, I tell you, I have a thousand ways to take back the child, don’t you dare have other ideas."
Clearly, she guessed Noah’s thoughts.
"Mom, do you really want to take back the child just like that? And then? Are you going to let lissa raise the child?" Noah questioned her coldly.
"Of course not," Isabella emphasized, "I’ll keep the child with , raise them myself."
Noah laughed, "Under what pretense? Cooper’s illegitimate child? What do you think lissa would say to that? What about Cooper? Will lissa let the child grow up and vie for the inheritance with hers?"
Isabella said coldly, "Let her try making a move under my watch."
"So, are you willing to risk the child’s safety, Mom?" Noah directly countered.
Isabella fell silent.
"Mom, I really like Yolanda, and I don’t care that it’s Cooper’s child; I’ll raise them as my own," Noah paused, then slowly continued, "Mom, I want to marry Yolanda."
Isabella frowned, "Have you thought it through? She already has two children; will she have more with you?"
"I don’t care," Noah was firm.
"Noah," Isabella looked pained, "Maybe you don’t care now, but what about later? When your feelings for her slowly fade, will you still not care? Noah, you’re still young..."
"Mom, I don’t know what the future holds, nobody does," Noah gently squeezed Isabella’s shoulders, "Mom, isn’t it nice to just live in the mont?"
Isabella sighed deeply.
"Mom, if I marry Yolanda now, you’ll legitimately have access to the child, and it will put Cooper’s mind at ease, letting him marry lissa without reservation," Noah looked earnestly into her eyes, "Mom, please agree."
Isabella’s eyes reddened; since Noah was six years old and left, she lost control over him.
She knew clearly, even if she didn’t agree, Noah wouldn’t change his mind.
In the end, she nodded, "Since you’ve decided, then Mom... supports you!"
