"What did you say?"
Although he had suspected it, Cooper Coldson was still stunned to hear lissa Greenwood say it.
lissa sniffed, "Didn’t your brother tell you?"
Cooper stared at her with a heavy gaze.
lissa continued, "Earlier, when my brother brought Yolanda to donate blood for my mom, he told himself."
Cooper clenched his fists, his expression growing uglier.
"Cooper, can we just have the wedding first?" lissa spoke softly, "I really don’t want my mom worrying about from below."
"Okay!" Cooper turned and left, "The wedding will proceed as planned, seven days from now!"
lissa watched him leave, a smile appearing at the corner of her mouth, but thinking about Cooper’s angry look just now, her gaze grew cold again.
"Damn it! Yolanda Greenwood really did catch Cooper’s heart!"
She slowly returned to the hall; seeing Jaxon Greenwood looking upset made her mood even more irritable, so she simply ignored him.
After the morial service, Jaxon was the first to speak, "lissa..."
"Dad!" lissa didn’t want to hear what he had to say and interrupted him directly, "The wedding with Cooper will be held on ti, a week from today."
"What?" Jaxon’s eyes widened in shock. Gemma Morgan had just passed away, how could lissa marry so soon?
He was nearly furious, "Is it that bastard Cooper’s idea? He has been dithering for so long and now he’s suddenly in a hurry?"
"Dad, it’s my decision, and I believe it’s also mom’s wish," lissa retorted. "Don’t you want to be happy?"
Jaxon was even more shocked, "lissa, your mom just passed away and you..."
"Enough, Cooper and I have already decided, no need to say more, dad." lissa turned to leave.
Anyway, Jaxon had never cared about her, and she was too lazy to deal with him.
"lissa!" Jaxon stepped forward swiftly and slapped her, "You have deeply disappointed dad!"
lissa covered her face, her grievances erupting in an instant, "I disappoint you? What about you? Do you think you’re a perfect father?"
Jaxon stood there, his eyes wide, feeling his heart thumping violently.
"Have you ever cared about ? You only cared about your wife!" lissa scread heartbreakingly, "You shouldn’t have had at all."
"lissa, what are you saying?" Jaxon’s voice trembled.
He felt his blood rushing violently, and the whole person inexplicably felt dizzy.
"Am I wrong?" lissa’s words grew even crueler, "I’d rather not be your daughter!"
With that, she turned and strode away.
"lissa..." Jaxon chased after her, but felt an extre discomfort in his heart.
He clutched his chest, calling out a few more tis as he watched lissa’s retreating figure, "lissa, lissa..."
But his daughter, whom he and Gemma Morgan had cherished, never looked back.
Jaxon couldn’t hold on any longer and collapsed, fainting.
Inside the Won’s and Children’s Hospital, Yolanda Greenwood finally woke up.
The first thing she asked when she opened her eyes was, "Lola, how’s mom?"
Lola Gold felt a pain in her heart. She hadn’t expected Yolanda to naturally call her ’mom’ now.
She tried hard to control her emotions, avoiding Yolanda’s eyes as she tucked her in, "Don’t worry, she’s out of danger now."
"Really?" Yolanda could still feel her own heart being very unsettled. Scenes from when she was unconscious flashed in front of her eyes, making her feel like crying.
"Really, why would I lie to you about sothing like this?" Lola Gold held Yolanda’s hand, "Your main task now is to take good care of yourself and the baby."
Yolanda seed to have just co back to her senses, visibly shaken as she looked towards her own abdon, "Are they still okay?"
"As long as you’re okay, they will be okay too," Lola Gold spoke with a hint of bla, "Yolanda, you are not alone anymore, you can’t always put yourself and your child in danger because of others, do you hear ?"
Yolanda looked over with a wronged expression, "But she’s not just anyone, she’s my mom."
"Yolanda!" Lola was truly heartbroken, struggling to speak.
It took her a while before she continued, "Don’t worry, Aunt Morgan is really fine now, out of danger."
"Okay, then I’m relieved," Yolanda managed a weak smile.
"Why don’t you rest well, what would you like to eat? I’ll go buy it for you," Lola said, afraid that if she stayed any longer, she would reveal too much.
"Just pick sothing, I don’t have much of an appetite," Yolanda still appeared very fragile.
She picked up the mobile phone from the bedside, checked the ti, and imdiately gasped in shock, "How many days have I been unconscious?"
"Four or five days," Lola sighed softly, "We were all so worried. If you didn’t wake up, Noah was about to send you abroad."
Yolanda didn’t even dare to unlock her phone, she missed the divorce cooling-off period, Cooper would definitely be furious.
"Yolanda, I’m going out now," Lola hurried out, her emotions about to burst.
Once she left the hospital room, she quickly ran to the stairwell, covering her mouth as she started to cry. Her Yolanda was really too heartbreaking.
Yolanda took a few deep breaths before finally unlocking her phone, and sure enough, she saw dozens of missed calls, mostly from Cooper.
There were also several ssages.
[What ti is it? You better show up in ten minutes!]
[Yolanda, don’t test my patience!]
[Yolanda, where the hell are you? Pick up the phone? Dare ghost at this ti, and I’ll make sure you regret it!!!]
[Yolanda!!! Yolanda!!! Stop playing dead!]
...
Yolanda let out a bitter laugh, her entanglent with Cooper was indeed deeply troubled.
It took all her courage to finally make a call to Cooper.
At that mont, Cooper was at ho preparing for the wedding, discussing matters with lissa and Isabella. He was sitting on the couch, distracted.
Seeing the incoming call, he abruptly stood up.
"What’s wrong?" Isabella jumped in fright.
lissa looked over, puzzled, "Cooper, do you not like this gift box?"
"It’s nothing. You two go ahead, I’ll stay upstairs for a while," Cooper said, taking his phone and heading upstairs.
Isabella and lissa exchanged glances, obviously sensing sothing was off.
Isabella thought of a possibility and smiled, "Ignore him, it’s probably work-related, let’s continue."
"Okay," lissa reluctantly shifted her gaze back.
Once upstairs, the call from Yolanda had ended, and Cooper, furious, dialed back.
The call connected quickly, and Cooper’s voice was stormy, "Yolanda, so you’ve finally decided to show up?"
"Cooper, I’m sorry, that day I..."
"Were you with my brother?" Cooper impatiently cut off Yolanda’s words, this was what he urgently wanted to know at the mont.
Together?
Although Yolanda didn’t see Noah after waking up, from what Lola had said, it seed Noah had been there all along.
So, she just humd in affirmation.
