Inside the private room, Lola Gold pulled up a stool and sat down next to Yolanda Greenwood.
"Are you alright?" she gently patted Yolanda’s back, looking at her pale little face with concern.
Yolanda shook her head and gave a wry smile, "I didn’t expect it to be Coldson Group that’s developing this place."
"Tell about it, it’s crazy," sighed Lola. "No worries, just this once, and then we won’t deal with this anymore."
"Besides, this is just a small project for Coldson Group, right?" she ventured. "Cooper Coldson probably won’t co here."
"Hopefully," Yolanda really didn’t know how financially strong Coldson Group was, or what Cooper actually did at the company.
But there was one thing she was certain of, people at George Ross’s level would definitely never et Cooper Coldson.
The two consoled each other for a while and agreed to go shopping and change their mood after lunch.
George Ross and Enzo Harper ca back quickly, bringing drinks and followed by a waiter serving the dishes.
They took their seats on either side of Yolanda and Lola.
Soon, everyone started to eat. The al proceeded without anything unusual; President Harper chatted about big moves at Coldson Group, and George Ross was on the side, flatteringly cheering him on.
As the al was winding down, Yolanda prepared to visit the restroom.
"I’ll go settle the bill," said George Ross as he stood up, then looked towards Lola who was getting ready to stand. "You keep President Harper company, I’ll be right back."
Lola looked at Yolanda, "Can you manage on your own?"
"I’ll be fine." Yolanda nodded and left first.
After using the restroom, Yolanda ca out to find George Ross waiting, "Uncle, what are you doing here?"
"Just now, we were short on cash for the al, can you accompany to withdraw so?" George Ross looked helpless.
"Short on cash?" Yolanda took out her phone. "How much more do we need? I have so."
"How could I use your money?" George reached out to pull Yolanda’s arm. "Co on, there’s an ATM nearby, just co with ."
Yolanda uncomfortably sidestepped, "Okay, but let tell Lola first."
"No need, we’ll be quick. Let her talk to President Harper for a while," George Ross’s expression changed. "Lola won’t get lost."
"Alright." After so thought, Yolanda sent Lola a WeChat ssage, [I’m going with Uncle to withdraw so money, will be back soon.]
"Have you never been married?" George Ross asked curiously on the way.
Yolanda didn’t want to lie and replied awkwardly, "I have, but then I got divorced."
"You’ve been divorced?" George Ross’s eyes widened suddenly.
Yolanda didn’t speak.
"Don’t get wrong, I didn’t an anything by it." George touched his nose. "I just think you’re very pretty and young, you don’t look like you’ve been divorced."
He inquired further out of gossip, "Why did you get a divorce?"
Yolanda didn’t wish to reply and took out her phone again to ask him, "How much further is it?"
"Almost there," George pointed ahead, there indeed was a bank not far ahead.
Seeing Lola hadn’t replied to her ssage, Yolanda sent another, [Lola, what are you and President Harper talking about? Why aren’t you replying to ?]
Earlier at the table, both she and Lola didn’t really want to engage with Enzo Harper, and now that Lola wasn’t replying to her ssages, she felt sothing was off.
Finally, they arrived at the bank’s entrance, where Yolanda stood outside, letting George enter alone to withdraw the money.
She waited a little while, and as Lola still hadn’t replied, she grew increasingly anxious.
She called Lola Gold.
"Who are you calling?" George Ross ca out.
Yolanda Greenwood frowned, "I’m calling Lola, weird, why isn’t she picking up?"
George Ross’s eyes darted away, "She’s probably having a great ti talking to President Harper, why don’t we take a walk around and let them chat? I can see you don’t like Enzo Harper, neither do I, but for the sake of the interests of the common people in the developnt zone, I have to suck up to him."
"Let’s hurry back," Yolanda rushed back. Lola Gold had been not answering the phone, and her heart was filled with anxiety.
"Why are you walking so fast?" George Ross followed her, "They’re happily chatting, not answering the phone, that ans they don’t want you to disturb them."
Yolanda turned back, looking at him with an unfriendly expression.
George Ross shook his head, "You, still just a young girl, really don’t understand Lola’s thoughts; she’s just like her mother..."
"What do you an?" Yolanda’s voice was icy.
"Do you know how her mother t her father back in the day?" George Ross said with disdain, "It was online, a few chats, and her mother ran off with soone. Now, Lola being an internet celebrity, live streaming and selling products, it’s the sa principle, all relying on their looks..."
Seeing Yolanda’s expression grow increasingly worse, he resentfully shut his mouth.
"If you and Grandma had treated Aunt Ross better back then, would she have wanted to leave?" Yolanda couldn’t help but feel indignant for Ruby Ross.
"We treated her badly?" George Ross scoffed, "We gave her food and shelter, supported her through junior high school, wasn’t that enough?"
Yolanda was astonished. As far as she knew, even after Ruby Ross had divorced, she still sent money ho.
After Ruby Ross fell ill, Lola Gold began sending money to Ully Town.
To think, mother and daughter had been supporting such ingrates! She had to tell Lola Gold about this!
At this mont, Yolanda felt they had done the right thing in coming back; otherwise, Lola Gold would continue to be deceived by George Ross on the internet, never being able to see their true faces.
They arrived at the restaurant’s entrance, Yolanda was about to go in, when George Ross grabbed her arm.
She turned back to look at him, puzzled.
"You really don’t need to be in such a hurry." George Ross reluctantly let go of her hand and followed Yolanda into the restaurant.
Upon opening the private room’s door, Yolanda saw that it was completely empty, but Lola Gold’s phone and both of their bags were still there.
"Where are they?" she asked George Ross, turning around.
"I don’t know?" George Ross said blankly, "Maybe they went to the bathroom? Since their belongings are here, they probably didn’t leave, right?"
Yolanda went to the bathroom to look for them, but still found no one.
She panicked and demanded George Ross call Enzo Harper.
George Ross reluctantly made the call, but no one answered.
"Maybe they went out to have fun," George Ross muttered quietly.
"Impossible!" Yolanda declared decisively. After asking several servers, she finally learned that Lola Gold seed to have drunk too much and was helped out by Enzo Harper.
"Drunk too much? How could that be?" Yolanda looked at George Ross, "What exactly happened?"
"I don’t know, I really don’t know," George Ross claid innocence.
"I’m going to call the police now," Yolanda said as she took out her phone to dial 110.
George Ross stopped her for a mont, "Don’t call the police yet; let’s look for them a bit more, maybe there’s nothing wrong. Maybe Lola willingly went with Enzo Harper, if you call the police..."
"Impossible." Yolanda was certain and imdiately stepped aside to call the police.
She knew in her heart that sothing bad must have happened to Lola Gold, and if they didn’t find them quickly, the consequences would be unimaginable.
