The scorching breath poured down Julian’s neck.

Hot, damp lips pressed against Julian’s exposed skin.

Such an intimate gesture made Julian stiffen.

She knew Silas was really running a fever, and that his condition had worsened because he’d been busy helping her search for her mom.

So, faced with Silas getting close, even though she felt awkward, she couldn’t just push him away.

Jett, off to the side, really couldn’t stand watching this anymore.

He’d said earlier Silas couldn’t possibly leave so easily—turns out, the guy was just waiting to play the pitiful card here.

This guy was already scheming as hell, and now he had a new skill to co along with it.

Tea art on full display.

Jett couldn’t help but snort coldly.

He imdiately got up and strode over, grabbing Silas and yanking him away from Julian.

He said in a "so kind" tone, "He’s too heavy. Let help you."

At Jett’s touch, just as he’d seed to be slipping into unconsciousness, Silas suddenly looked up.

Clutching his chest, his voice soft and weak: "Julian, he hurt ."

Jett felt a vein throb in his temple out of anger: "I was just supporting your arm, didn’t even touch your chest, how could I have hurt you?"

Silas unbuttoned his shirt to reveal a bloody bandage: "Look, it’s bleeding! Don’t tell it wasn’t you."

"If you keep framing , believe , I’ll punch your lights out."

Jett raised his arm in anger. He genuinely wanted to beat the hell out of this guy.

Julian quickly stopped him, "Jett, go check on why my dad hasn’t co back with the paynt."

Jett put down his arm, pointed at Silas, and warned, "Silas, you’d better behave yourself. Don’t forget this is Varden—my turf. I can make you disappear any minute."

Silas looked at Julian with pleading eyes: "Julian, he’s bullying ."

Julian really couldn’t stand it anymore. "You two are so childish. Even An-an and Fries are better than you. Lie down now, I’ll take your temperature."

Silas shot Jett a smug, raised eyebrow.

Then obediently lay down on the bed, eyes dark and deep as he looked at Julian. "Julian, close the curtains, okay? I don’t want Auntie to see my wound and feel sad. She’s so kind-hearted—she’d be heartbroken over what happened to ."

He looked so pitiful. Pair this with so erhu music, and it could have you bawling on the spot.

Julian didn’t overthink it, and actually pulled the curtain shut.

She really didn’t want Mrs. Nash to know just how obsessed Silas was with Sienna.

Hurting himself as a way to miss Sienna.

Her mother was always softhearted—if she knew this, she’d surely persuade her to go back to Silas.

Looking at Silas’s wound again, Julian’s chest still ached.

How did the two of them end up like this?

One, so obsessed, kept carving nas into his skin. The other, to avoid everything, changed her face, unable to confront it all.

This storyline is so torturous, even soap operas wouldn’t dare this much angst.

What could she do to get Silas to let go?

Seeing the sadness in Julian’s eyes, Silas asked softly, "Dr. Nash, if Sienna knew I missed her this much, would she co back to ?"

Julian quickly gathered herself. As she treated his wound, she said, "I’m not her, how would I know what she’s thinking."

"If soone waited for you like this, what would you do?"

The question left Julian at a loss for words.

She couldn’t figure out what kind of state Silas was in—why did he keep asking her such strange things?

Beneath every word, it felt like he was testing her.

She pretended to be indifferent, t his gaze directly.

"I have a husband. Even if soone waited for , I wouldn’t look back. Life is like a train headed to heaven—people get on and off along the way. There’s no need to obsess over those you’ve missed. Maybe at the next stop, you’ll see an even better view."

Hearing this, Silas felt a sharp, crawling pain in his heart.

Could it be that his Sienna really didn’t love him anymore?

She saw him as nothing but a passing sight, didn’t want to look back after missing him.

His lips curled in a bitter smile: "But I’ve been running after that train the whole way. I think one day, sooner or later, I’ll catch Sienna’s train and beco the best scenery she’s ever seen."

His words were so gentle and affectionate that Julian’s eyelashes couldn’t help but tremble.

She couldn’t say too much, or it would tip Silas off.

Once the wound was bandaged, she looked up at Silas: "Your wound’s inflad again, so you keep burning up. I recomnd an IV; you’ll recover faster that way."

"Okay, I’ll do whatever you say. Get a private room—leave this bed for Uncle, he needs to stay with Auntie."

Julian quickly finished the paperwork and arranged for Silas in the room next to Mrs. Nash.

Maybe because the fever had lasted so long, once the drip started, Silas quickly fell asleep.

Jett ca in, saw Silas, and quietly asked, "Are you sure he’s not faking it?"

Julian: "He’s got a wound. The inflammation caused the fever. It actually broke yesterday, but he probably got rained on while looking for my mom, so the wound flared up again."

Jett let out a cold snort: "Like a delicate little rich girl—can’t take any hardship at all. I’d say it’s three tenths real, seven tenths acting. Don’t fall for his tricks."

Julian knew Silas was partly putting on a show, but she still couldn’t stand seeing him tornt himself like this.

Silas’s scars were like a thorn in her heart—every ti she saw them, it hurt so much she couldn’t breathe.

She couldn’t go back to Silas, but she kept thinking about how to pull him out of his obsession.

Her voice was low, "No, I know where to draw the line."

"Good. I just brought dinner back for you. Go eat. I’ll watch him."

"Okay. When this IV finishes, call ."

"Got it. Go on, then."

Silas slept a long ti—by the ti he woke again, it was already night.

The room lights were off. Through the moonlight, he could vaguely see a figure slumped asleep next to his bed.

He thought it was Julian.

Instantly, a warm current rushed through his heart.

His Sienna hadn’t gone to take care of her mother—but stayed with him instead. Did this an she still loved him?

The possibility made the corners of Silas’s lips curl up, even in the darkness.

He reached out, inching closer and closer to "Julian," and when he found her hand, he gently caressed the back of her hand.

Then interlaced their fingers together.

What he hadn’t expected was, "Julian" gripped his hand tightly.

Silas felt secretly thrilled: Sienna’s squeezing so tight—maybe she wants to get touchy with , too.

The thought set off fireworks in Silas’s head, lighting up his whole world.

Just as he was basking in this happiness, a low, male voice suddenly whispered in his ear—

"Had enough of groping yet?!"
