Chapter 385: Chapter 385: Going to the Garbage Incineration Plant to Deliver the Task (1)
“Is this the confidentiality regulation for Qin Rui’s squad? They must have seen it with their own eyes that night,” the deputy commander mused.
“Yes, you guys need to sign a confidentiality agreent too. Don’t let it slip, cook the corn yourselves and eat it. Just these few, don’t share them with others,” Camp Commander Lin sternly instructed.
“Got it, I’ll cook one each day, making sure not even the aroma of corn escapes,” the instructor vowed, thumping his chest.
“Commander, you need to hurry up and build so connections with the higher-ups. Whether we get to eat or drink depends on how hard you work today.”
Fully grasping the current situation, the deputy commander and the others urged Camp Commander Lin with urgency, their faces tense yet filled with anticipation.
“By the way, there’s sothing for you guys to do. Ye Nai took on that border enemy-killing mission, hasn’t submitted it yet. Arrange for her, she brought back quite a bit.”
“Isn’t this task supposed to be submitted at the border? She brought it back?”
“Don’t know what happened in between, but she said she brought it back, needs to submit the task.”
“Is it enough to need a special session?”
“For the most part, yes.”
“No problem, I’ll handle it personally,” the deputy commander pledged, thumping his chest again.
“Do it quickly; once the ssage from above cos back, there will be a second eting, and there won’t be ti for these private matters later.”
“Got it, don’t worry.”
After a brief discussion, the colleagues left, taking the corn with them and signing the confidentiality agreent.
In the afternoon, the deputy commander began contacting the Awakener Center, arranging for Ye Nai to submit the task.
If the amount requires a special session, a specific furnace slot will need to be cleared, with a batch counted and then tossed in.
If we’re talking about the best places to burn enemy corpses, it’s those garbage incinerators specifically for Otherworld waste. They’re fast and fierce.
The deputy commander made several calls, and by evening, all parties were coordinated, and a separate furnace at the garbage plant was freed up for use whenever needed.
After receiving the notification from above, Qin Rui forwarded it to Ye Nai, arranging to head to the garbage incinerator at six the next day.
So, during dinner, they specially took so hot buns and pastries from the cafeteria to save for breakfast the next day.
Ye Nai helped pack them, using her space energy to keep them warm, saving the hassle of reheating them in the morning.
Early to bed that night, they were all washed and ready by five-thirty the next morning. Ye Nai handed out the food she stored from yesterday, smoothly solving the breakfast ti, and set off promptly at six.
Not long after they left, it was work ti, and the commander and colleagues t, with the aroma of corn evident whenever they spoke.
The deputy commander and others bead, praising the corn as delicious and remarkably sweet.
This tantalizing aroma naturally piqued other colleagues’ and subordinates’ curiosity, but when they heard it was high-quality corn the commander brought from outside, they lost interest.
Corn is sothing everyone is used to, even fed up with. No matter how delicious or high-quality, it can only be so much better.
So, no food enthusiasts were overly eager to sneak around to discover what tasty corn it was.
When Ye Nai’s group arrived at the garbage incinerator, staff guided them to the deepest oven, where the space was open, and construction barriers obscure the view.
The Awakener Center sent four employees, three won and a man, with one man and woman wearing Awakener Center uniforms, while the other two won donned professional suits, one clearly appearing to be in a managerial role.
A professionally-dressed lady stepped forward to introduce Ye Nai.
She claid to be a secretary, but the director coordinating the office was Zhou Jing, and the two staff mbers alongside were there for on-site statistics.
“Ms. Ye Nai, you have been a key figure our center follows closely. Given the high volu of your task submission, I am here for on-site supervision,” Zhou Jing said, smiling as she shook hands with Ye Nai.
“Thank you, I appreciate your trouble,” Ye Nai replied, glancing at the towering, smoking furnace, “What is the exact procedure?”
“Ms. Ye Nai, you see, there’s a conveyor belt set up next to this furnace. We will count them batch by batch alongside the belt, separating them by designated points and tagging them. After mutual verification, they will be placed on the conveyor belt to be sent into the furnace,” Zhou Jing explained with a smile, gesturing for Ye Nai to follow her towards the massive conveyor belt.
Qin Rui left half the squad to guard the original location and led the other half to follow closely, taking up guard duties near the conveyor belt.
Though this expansive area was shielded by barriers, precautions were still necessary.
“Stand back, or stand beneath the conveyor belt; don’t get hit,” Ye Nai reminded them before, without any apparent action, a neat phalanx of enemy corpses appeared on the ground.
The phalanx had ten by ten formations, and the corpses bore uniform tattoos and laid stark naked, face-up.
Their clothing materials were purely organic, including the belts, which were made of authentic animal skin, though all decomposed by space fungus.
The corpses had to be kept intact for points, so their external items were essentially a snack for the fungus.
However, those present found the state of the corpses, even as enemies’, sowhat inelegant at a glance.
It was quite an eyesore.
“Uh…” Zhou Jing opened her mouth to say sothing but held back, “Ms. Ye Nai, this…”
“Oh, don’t bla , it was the civilians who stripped them. They wore them themselves as they took them off,” Ye Nai naturally didn’t admit any involvent.
“Their civilians?”
“Yes, don’t you know where I ca back from?” Ye Nai’s gaze slowly swept over Zhou Jing’s group, and seeing their fleeting expressions, she added, “Oh, you didn’t know.”
“We have a rough idea now,” Zhou Jing said excitedly, imdiately warning her staff, “I will ensure you both sign a confidentiality agreent when we return.”
The two uniford staff nodded quickly, having no objections; hearing such significant news today made signing a confidentiality agreent worthwhile.
“Let’s begin, it’s going to be busy today.”
While speaking, Ye Nai moved away so distance, first setting up her beige awning for shade, placing underneath it a long noble dining table and high-back chairs, along with several leaf bags filled with Otherworld fruit, cutting boards with cooked food and knives, as well as disposable plates and forks, not forgetting the leaf bag garbage bags.
“Co, co, eat while you wait, and rest if you’re tired,” she added, speaking to the staff about to bend over to tag the corpses.
